I guess it would have been better if mahindra have given mld in rear wheels like bolero neo
Very smart move by Mahindra before the Jimney rolls in. Plus the Suzuki will not be offered in Diesel. That's 1 up for Mahindra.
But Jimny will have 5 doors
That Rwd price is 15.89 Lol 🤣
@@Blitzkers99 please read the title 😊
True
@@aakashsrivastav1087 Thar 5 door will also going to launch
I own the bs6 thar hard top diesel automatic, and I would like to point out a few things.
1. In 6th gear, I can cruise at 100kmph at barely over 1500 rpm, roughly around 1600-1700 rpm.
2. In terms of drivability, I don't get any turbo lag whatsoever. Engine pulls strong and clean right from 1200 rpm and a little more pressure on the throttle pushes me back into the seat. Mind you this comes from as low as lesser than 1500 rpm. Overtakes are surprisingly easy and quick.
Excellent review by the team, kudos to them , but you cannot get the same amount of performance or ease of driving from a smaller engine with a higher pressure / size turbo. This engine seems to be running at a higher psi of boost leading to the turbo lag. That's why you have to rev the engine higher.
But 90% people won't notice these things except for pure enthusiasts. So if you want a Thar but the 4x4 version is a bit out of the budget, buy the 4x2.
Rare case of some one talking sense !
Yes 2.2L mhawk gen3 has much better low end torque and it pulls like crazy.
People going crazy over 300nm torque...old safari was offering 455 nm of torque ...the car was completely ignored by us hypocrisy at it's best
The varicor 400 ❤️❤️ what a car!! Fabulous torque both safari and hexa
i am going for it, i am driving RWD since 8 years now. i know maximum times we are not going extreme off road. with my Car which has Rear wheel drive with MLD i have been to Sach pass, Kaza and on those roads where other car stucks... i think RWD + MLD is good enough... one should definitely hit this \\\\
very crisp, no bias, pure details. The title does absolute justice to the content. it take much knowledge and experience to understand engine characteristics and you have explained it wonderfully. Great review and thx for bringing this to us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I saw about 15 videos of Thar 4x2 today as it was launched today and i must say this was the best video as it covered the most aspects compared to other videos and that too comprehensively! Kudos!!
Thank you so much 😀
Excellent review. This review stands head and shoulders above so many other reviews which I watched today. Your attention to detail and being thorough with all aspects of the vehicle was the highlight. You painstakingly gave complete overview of all aspects including off-road and that too not on random off-road course, but a proper off-road course showing what all this vehicle is actually capable of. I've watched many of your reviews and yours are always the best, cuz you don't just read the spec sheet you show the practicle usage addressing many queries of a potential buyer. Keep up the great work. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much to keep our spirits high :-)
@91Wheels After watching tonnes of videos about this car, you are the first one to show us the minute detailing & lags of this car...Appreciate your work...keep up the same to help get a clear picture 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Exactly the kinda of offroad road review we wanted..thanks!
thnks bunny
as always lovely and very practical approach for choosing this as a lifestyle ride.
I am definitely pumped up yo book one now itself. The Base modep
Nice and detailed review
This thar can handel bad rural roads therefore value for money
I'm from remote part of mizoram where roads are very bad especially during monsoon season and would be perfect for my area
Mahindra really really really knows the pulse of true "SUV" enthusiasts !!!
So many traditional SUVs they have retained and nurtured till now.
Bolero, Thar, Scorpio, XUV ... etc ; have to be made more and more affordable for enthusiasts in the coming days...(they should).
Tatas on the other hand should not have discontinued their Safari storme.
Nothing can beat, Nothing can really beat old school ladder frame affordable SUVs..
Even after a hundred years from now; I will still love traditional old school ladder frame SUVs...!
Superb taking like next level and simply clear explanation like one step ahead to Mahendra show room 👍
Superb review brother thank you so much for your best efforts 😊
great representation and driving shot. Keep it up!
Very detailed review...Keep up the good work...
Kudos for the review, I just had a question, I thought the 1.5 Diesel RWD has Electronic Brake Locking Differential, could you please confirm? The Thar product catalogue says so..
The best video explanation 👍
Your video changed my overall perspective of the car. I thought she is wearing 3 cylinder engine and was disappointed but since it's 4 cylinder from maeazzo ,I'm almost relieved.
Best combo by Mahindra will be giving 110Ps diesel engine with 4x4. It will have decent power plus 4x4 capabilities as well and would be then 2-3lakhs cheaper than the current 4x4
Very good review. I was hoping someone would cover the off road part too. Thank you 👍.
You are welcome :-)
Excellent and a very technical review... !!!!!
Fantastic review. On point and detailed. 👍🙂
Glad you liked it!
Thanq sir very useful information video
Thanks for this video, I have been waiting for an off road review of 4*2
The most detailed review. Wish it got MLD .
I have just booked it today.. Don’t know when I a gonna get it. Excited excited excited. Thanks for the superb review
good one! enjoyed every minute of it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dose it has mld machanical locking differential
What about BLD and MLD in those positions?
10:55 scene was osm🔥🔥
Does it have mechanical locking defferiencial
Thankyou sir. I will soon become a doctor and might have to serve in rural areas with poor roads was confused with jimny and thar 4x2 and 4x4 .
climate control on LX available? @8:05
The best practical automobile youtuber , very well
Thanks 👍🏻
So this doesn't get mld same as the bolero neo ?
Amazing review,I don’t comment usually but this review made me 👌👍
Glad you liked it!
Nice video
Introduction of MLD would be a great idea
Best review
Superb coverage, Bunny ! Alas ! If only M&M would have an efficient 1.5 petrol on the THAR... Diesel is a no-go in NCR anyways !! But.. great coverage of the RWD 1.5 Diesel. BTW, aren't the Marazzo and XUV3oo using the same 1.5L engine as the Bolero Neo aka TUV ??
Or the 1.2 Turbo Petrol from XUV300 Turbosport
Bolero neo is 3 cylinders. This one is 4..
Whatever may it be Jimmny will have a separate fan base. Cant wait for the car ❤. Eagerly waiting
Which model is this ax or lx
Pure content and this is the video what everyone looking for
Bunny says thanks :)
This is the real test analysis of new RWD Thar 👍
Awesome review. But could u suggest 2wd petrol ? How much mileage it would give! I wonder
We drove the petrol AT 4x2 as well. Bunny was seeing an easy 13 kmpl during light traffic Delhi to Gurgaon run.
Petrol SUV isn't The right powertain
the core engine shud be the diesel with that Manual 🏒 stick !!!
Nice Analysis 👍
This video proves no 4x4 required 4x2 with great GC and AT tyres could do 90% of things. Unless we are doing extreme off road which is less than 5% of time and in some tricky situations like mud, snow, so question do we really need 4x4
Bunny sir, while talking about the engine you said, "not to be confused with the engine in Bolero Neo or XUV 3OO." 1.5 diesel in Bolero Neo is a different 3 cylinder unit. But the 1.5 diesel in the XUV 3OO is the same 4 cylinder unit in the Marazzo. In the Marazzo, it develops 121 bhp and 300 nm. In the XUV 3OO it develops 117 bhp and 300 nm - as same as this RWD Thar. So, the Thar's new 1.5 engine is nothing but a XUV 3OO engine, we can say.
Overall, it was a nice review as always sir!
bro i have TUV 300 with 84 BHP rear weheel drive + MLD rocks... this Thar can be hit...
the diesel here is tried and tested
best in its class torque monster with 117 horses on tap with a less rattling 4cylinders for you.... and that's the BOTTOM-LINE °|||||° 💨💨💨
Wt is exact onride price of disel rwd?
Nice review. I wish you had checked this car's turning circle radius.
Does it get side facing rear row seats?
Rear seats are two, front facing. Like the normal thar 4*4
@@91Wheels that's sad. 2wd means it's now an ute. Not some lifestyle vehicle. Practicality is prime here. Should that seating configuration clash with the NCAP rating which Thar enjoys, they could even change this variant's name. But side facing rear row seats are cardinal ‼️
& the turning circle radius? Is the 2wd able to match the Bolero Neo's 5.35M turning circle radius?
The 5.9M from the 4wd Thar is hardly able to clear traffic signal U-turns in one go ‼️😅
@Muthu::: the thar never had side facing jump or trooper seats. Don't mistake this with Bolero Rear 7seater jump seats. Pls go and check this at the nearest m & m dealer this is very very capable bet for OT o n diet 👀🤘
@@shibu.20 😅dude, I've owned 2 MM540s & they both had side facing rear row seats.
Mahindra could've offered MLD from Bolero Neo for 2WD thar, if not transform into a real off roader like 4x4 variant it will help to get out of tricky situations. Food for thought !
Exactly same word's of mine
MLd is there optional
By far the best review of thar RWD available on RUclips 👍
Glad you liked it
Whst is diesel rwd mileage ?
What is the on road price?
They ditched the MLD as well?
AT transmission should ve included in the diesel variant
Mechanical differential lock???
RWD
Bro the xuv 300 gets the same 4cyl engine and why should we not get confused. It should be ideally not confused with bolero and bolero neo.
It’s a light weight steering like xuv300 or hard one like that 4x4
Awesome 👍👍
make mileage test please
Bunny bhayya, Gurugram mein AC , January mein!!!
Now M&M is the only Car Company in India🇮🇳 to have a lifestyle iconic Car in its portfolio at attractive price. A rear wheel drive is far better than so called front wheel drive SUV.
Truly AAM AADMI SUV from M&M
They should have included all wheel drive option given in Bolero neo
जबरदस्त 💥💥💥
I love this thar..❤️
It has BLD as per Mahindra Website, but didn't see it functioning 😞
Hi Bunny, Mahindra claims that thar rwd is equipped with BLD. isn't this true?
Other car makers ..Lets make an Suv on a Hatch back platform
Mahindra - 🤔🤔🤔 Let's make a Hatch back on the Suv platform..
....I just hope the gave the MLD as the Neo
U did it bro , no 1 yet has done the offroading with this model.
Bunny sir we want ur mileage test for this THAR RWD😅🤝
Summary:= this car can go anywhere just momentum is required 😏
Super cool
Hi Bunny,
Can you pls confirm if MLD is a standard offering in LX D117 RWD . Or its only available to mhawk 130 only?
Not in the RWD for sure
@@91Wheels How does BLD work in RWD?
RWD diesel LX trim has an advanced BLD as per the company representative.
@@sanjoth.basavaraj yeah that I herd, but I think BLD works in front wheels only ...correct me if I'm wrong.
How much is on road
Sir , on mahindra's website it is mentioned that 4x2 varient has locking differential , are you sure there isn't?
It isnt there - as u can see in the video :)
Should have had an optional diff lock.
But 99% of users wont need it I guess
Is this ax o 4x2
I think this 4x2 thar with a rear MLD should do way better when loosing traction
Maybe just retrofit one from the 4x4 thar .
Is this possible?
The Mahindra website states that there is Electronic Brake Locking Differential as standard on the D117 LX. Wanted to confirm if this is true as you have mentioned in the video that it isn't present in RWD models.
As u can see in the video, wheel in air spins freely
@@91Wheels I noticed it too. I hope it's something they look into. Appreciate your response though.
Please compare Thar 1.5 with bolero neo
What about mileage
I currently love and drive a Honda WRV diesel. Have always been a Japanese automotive fan. However, after driving the Thar 2WD, I am seriously considering it to replace my WRV. Only two question marks remain:
1. Will it be comfortable for a family of three comprising me, my wife and my six year old daughter?
2. Will it be as niggle free as a Japanese car?
I can wait for the Jimny but I'm really addicted to the diesel torque.
Yes indeed. For a couple and small child it's perfect. On a plus side, this type of car could light the adventure spirit in a child from early on.
Excellent review touching all the positives and negatives.. In my view the down-graded THAR has spoiled the real image of the THAR.. If the RWD thar is meant for city and highway, then why not arm-rest not provided by mahindra..?
Valid point!
You have a point there regarding the armrests.
Btw, did you know the earlier Thar DI also came in 2WD variants? So I am not sure about the image issue
No MLD in this one?
The voice volume needs to be enhanced
10:55 🔥
Is the climate control a feature..??🙄🙄
4/2 kitne cylinder hai ye to bata do
Torque is very useful for overtaking
Bhp is good for top speed.
Give me better torque any day.
Glad the 4*2 Thar has same 300 nm output as 4*4
No Diesel automatic, all the best with sales Mahindra
where and how to book this
Bookings start shortly. Today itself on their website
Is add blue needed?
Yes!
MLD continue or Discontinue plz tell us sir?
Not offered in 4x2, even as an option
Bhai Of Road Matlab Kya Yrr
Kya
Thar 4×2 Ko 300-400 KM Chala Sakte Hain Na
Does it have a MLD?
Nope, it has BLD
