  • I’m not a patent attorney and I’m not giving legal advice.
    If you want to patent your idea I would first start out by filing a provisional patent application. It’s called a PPA. Filing a provisional patent application gives you a one-year patent pending status. It allows you to test the market.
    To write a Provisional Patent Application so that later you could file a non-provisional patent requires you to do a little homework. Homework you have to do yourself. You must add workarounds and variations or basically steal it from yourself. I would also include any type of manufacturing and materials that could possibly be used. Patenting an idea correctly is important. If you need help please don’t hesitate to contact us. Call us at 1-800-701-7993. We’ve been helping inventors that have an idea or an invention for over two decades.

Doc my eyes and cross the tees do some homework on this I have an invention company out of Pennsylvania name Davison want me to sign with them so they can handle my invention idea would sound crazy to me cuz that might steal my idea thank you so much for that video and I would love to talk to someone in person to get some more direct information on what I'm trying to do thank you so much

    Greetings Stephen & Thanks. I'm working on my PPA. My question is: are schematic drawings still preferable to images of a 3D model (3D as in computer) being rotated with text labels?

    • @stephenkey3137
      @stephenkey3137 2 года назад +3

      Technically you could use a sketch on a napkin. But for me I’m going to use my provisional patent application as a Licensing tool. So I like line drawings. Please note they don’t have to be patent drawings.

    After making improvements, is it advisable to refile a PPA, even if it's before the year? And what happens after a year? Do we have an opportunity to refile? Or does the idea become open game? Thank you so much, Gentlemen! Your videos are incredibly inspiring and I'm learning so much, so fast.

I have the main gist of the prototype and still working on its functionality. Would you be interested in speaking more or should I build a fully working prototype first?

    Even if a person owns a patent, without money, he cannot have the ability to enforce his rights. In this aspect, legal system or patent system favors the rich and has never changed. How much justice a person deserves depends in a big way on how deep is your pocket. Humans live in ancient times still. There is no progress in this aspect since adam made love to eve

    • @stephenkey3137
      @stephenkey3137 2 года назад +3

      I wouldn’t let that stop you. It’s always been this way. Companies really don’t care about intellectual property. Even Apple largest company in the world can not stop infringement. You don’t need the patent system. Learn how to use the system. Don’t let the system use you.

      @@stephenkey3137 Very grateful to have found you and your channel Stephen! As time pass, more and more prior art stacked Against inventors, for lack of a better word. In 1 day or 1 month, there can be 1 million patents filed worldwide. The bigger problem is the difficulty to do a DIY search due to the different languages and databases not accessible to laymen. These issues definitely has retarded progress for human civilisation. I learning from the best from this channel. I shall utilise Patent system to my advantage. Eg how to work around patents😅

    Thank Stephen, my first PPA is up in a few months . I've heard you speak to filing a new one with minor changes or upgrades. Does there have to be changes made since it is never viewed by the USPTO, or can I just re-submit the original at a later date ?

    • @calebsaddler6298
      @calebsaddler6298 2 года назад +1

      I'm asking this because of the price difference of a PPA vs a Non provisional. I researched the non provisional since it was mentioned in your last video, and if I understand correctly that is the start of actually filing for a patent. Please correct me if I'm mistaken, thanks.

      If you have not publicly disclosed your Invention I do believe you can file it again. Please note you will lose the original date.But always reach out to a Legal professional for advice.
