Thanks for the vid. I just saw this Arcade cabinet at my local Sam's Club and was on the fence about buying it. The fact that you can run MAME without too much trouble is a huge plus.
NBA Jam and 1942 confirmed working well. The screen real estate is going to be a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people. Vertical games are only giving you about an 8 inch wide playfield. It doesn't bother me since you can stand close to the screen, though I would like to see some side art, or at least some generic graphics to fill the black bars on each side. Also confirmed working, SF2, TMNT2, Arkanoid, Crystal Castles, Metal Slug, Final Fight, and Altered Beast.
So basically a big arcade cabinet that's easier to mod than the usual installing a PI method. Plus it has Wifi and can stream? Honestly that seems like the best option for a home arcade if you can afford it by far.
@@Lasmusic559 It's not just about the most practical/simple way to access these games. It's about the sentimental value of an arcade and the nostalgia that comes with it. Adding to that is the fact it has some modern features on this arcade which makes it even more appealing to me. Wow, you'd let something like that bother you? People like you are why arcade 1up releases faulty, incomplete garbage versions of games, but has nice and pretty shiny cabs to show off. Unbelievable.....
Don't buy one then, more for us. Actually atgames should just release a solid black generic arcade with an atari looking control deck. That will please everyone who will use decals.
If those cores are the same as what Retroarch uses, perhaps MAME .139 core can be used as well... Mame 2003 is MAME.078, so a lot less rom support. A nice thing about MAME 139 is all the Golden Tee games work to make use of that trackball, not not mention a ton more arcade games.
Yeah, Konami's X-Men has three versions. The one you mentioned was the massive six player one (each player controlled one of the six unique characters), and there were four and two player single screen versions where players selected who to play as.

Just out of curiosity, surprised no one has asked this. Does this unit actually save the high scores like MAME and front ends like Mame32 and Arcade64 does? Or do you have to utilize save states to get the high scores saved? And if so, I wonder where this machine saves them to? A machine that can't save the high scores to memory (disk, etc) is of no use to me whatsoever...

It's difficult, as a retrogames newbie, to figure out how to match roms and cores and hardware - all the roms I've tried, so far, in this reference set seem to work OK with the Legends stock 2003+ core, as you would expect. I struggled with a dozen failures before I came here. Turned my frown upside down to get this link. Thanks, again.
@@robertwallace7808 - Glad you found it useful - they have the complete set and it is a non merged set so every rom can work on its own ( don't need to bother with making sure you have all the parent roms if the rom is a child of another etc. ) - and it includes all the CHDs and audio samples so make setting things up really easy. IF you go back 2 levels you'll get to the parent directory and in there it explains what the set is and also has links to download the complete set if you want (has torrent link and link to the seperate rom zip files ) and also has links to several other complete sets that they have - so it's a pretty useful site.
Any chance you can test Mr Do! Either on SNES or MAME? I’ve been looking for a cabinet that can play this game for my Dad. He used to play this game for hours back in the day.
Have you tried getting something like Marvel vs Capcom 2 running? I’m not sure what core you would need, but if someone could confirm getting a game like that to run in this machine I’d buy one right now. I’m debating between getting this or a custom cabinet made.
Can you test neo geo games with the mame core? I want to see if you need a bios rompack to run a game. That may be the issue with Capt commando or it may be you dont have the full rom.
Just tested Metal Slug and it worked flawlessly. So the Neo Geo Bios is in there. Also Crystal Castles mapped controls automatically to the trackball and Arkanoid to the spinner. This is very impressive.
What do you mean by Fill the screen? It’s presenting them in the correct aspect ratio. Do you want them to stretch the image to 16:9 ? If so... I think they’re working on that for people who don’t mind the image being stretched out.
Yes, there’s a final burn alpha core located here: www.dropbox.com/sh/f0tuhein9kx3ot4/AABBP2DOa6UX2JR-rU3TS82ka?dl=0&fbclid=IwAR2xX0Jl1AFC6x9HZ0LoWqHwKyjPf3tgelZ_BSdglwR9mfhHjR9rcfApavo
Just wondering but wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy the wood, use an old pc or pi and some controls than buying this if you are starting to add roms? And doesn’t that take away the “purist” aspect of a REAL arcade cabinet. I know that even the arcade 1up cabs are emulating as well and use the “actual rom” but even those I feel take away from the purity of the genuine thing running the actual board.
Kewl to know! By chance does the cheats work on the certain games they provide? Have fun getting this at Sam's Club cos it's sold out for now. AtGames knows they messed up in the past I'm willing to bet with new employees with a passion things are going to get way better.

Thanks
Does anyone know if you can use both joysticks as a singe player for dual stick arcade games like Robotron or Food Fight?
So basically it just loads the Retroarch core for each rom, the rom and loads a boxart image? Neat.
👍🏻
I dont know what happened with the latest update. Since I did it, I can't play some of my mame games that I used to play out of the USB dongle, anybody else having the same issue?... thanks
I can’t wait to get one 😍
Is it possible to stream something like Big Box using the steam stream feature?
Just out of curiosity, surprised no one has asked this. Does this unit actually save the high scores like MAME and front ends like Mame32 and Arcade64 does? Or do you have to utilize save states to get the high scores saved? And if so, I wonder where this machine saves them to?
A machine that can't save the high scores to memory (disk, etc) is of no use to me whatsoever...
Retro Ralph do you think atgames will make it easier to download complete rom sets instead of individual game if that's the case is going to take a very long time to download a complete rim set
Let's hope some "punk" arcade-lover provides an USB image with all the work done, if that's possible....
@@josmazgon iam sure someone will figure it out iam waiting if I want to buy this or not
@@barronslumber totally agree! With the versatility of a rapsberry pi, this will be a must buy!
I follow, plug in FAT32 formatted thumb drive with your link MAME2003 core and roms on it and nothing happens.
This is an extremely old video and AtGames has changed a lot since this. I would check out Wagner’s tech talk, his channel would have the latest and greatest info on the AtGames arcade products. 👍🏻. I hope this helps.
The donkey Kong is missing the sound file samples did the same thing on my raspberry pi you can find them and download not sure if it'll work on atgames
I can unpack the compressed package and add the files, I just don’t know where to get them. Do you know where I can download them? Thanks man... I appreciate you watching!
@@RetroRalph - THe Internet archives site has them in their 2003 reference set and you can download just the samples by going to the page and then on the right side under Download options go to "Show All - that will bring you to a directory page where you'll see the Samples folder - click on Samples and it will take you to the various samples zip files Click on DKong.zip and the download box will come up to download it. ( direct link to that folder - archive.org/download/MAME2003_Reference_Set_MAME0.78_ROMs_CHDs_Samples/samples/ )
@@jdfan0121 Thanks for the link to the audio. For others reading this, if you go up a level, you'll find the roms directory for this reference set.
I’d love to see Double Dribble on the Mame core
With that spinning controller can you play Ikari warriors? If so I might have to buy this
Have you tried getting something like Marvel vs Capcom 2 running? I’m not sure what core you would need, but if someone could confirm getting a game like that to run in this machine I’d buy one right now. I’m debating between getting this or a custom cabinet made.
Does super sprint work
Can you plug extra controllers in for 4 or 6 player ROMs?
Can you test neo geo games with the mame core? I want to see if you need a bios rompack to run a game. That may be the issue with Capt commando or it may be you dont have the full rom.
Just tested Metal Slug and it worked flawlessly. So the Neo Geo Bios is in there. Also Crystal Castles mapped controls automatically to the trackball and Arkanoid to the spinner. This is very impressive.
@@benjaminapeterson Can you check CPS 1 2 & 3 roms ie SF2 or even SF3 :D
no sega roms working for me...,,,any help what rom needed or core ty...moonwalker mame
Any chance you could uploading a rom of Sega’s Star Wars Trilogy and see its playability? I’d buy that system right now if that MAME ROM worked.
Sorry, just tested it. The genesis core they released doesn't run it.
Damn...still going to get this, but not in a big rush now. Thanks.
Sega seems to work great, but not one MAME has worked. I thought they were supposed to be saved as zip files, but maybe you could walk us through it.
Can anyone give an update on whether or not the CPS 1 and 2 games work? Killer Instinct?
Is there dip switches for the arcade games
Black Friday Sale on this cab??
Love it
Are there any horizontal games or games period that fill the complete screen on that $500 pos
What do you mean by Fill the screen? It’s presenting them in the correct aspect ratio. Do you want them to stretch the image to 16:9 ? If so... I think they’re working on that for people who don’t mind the image being stretched out.
Dude ... Is that a Tatsunoku vs Capcom Arcade Cabinet?!
It is, I no longer have the cabinet but I still have the board.
@@RetroRalph was it reel/authentic, or Homebrew? Didn't you talk about it in a recent Coffee ☕ talk and I'm having a geezer moment?!
Do u know if they have a final burn alpha version?
Yes, there’s a final burn alpha core located here: www.dropbox.com/sh/f0tuhein9kx3ot4/AABBP2DOa6UX2JR-rU3TS82ka?dl=0&fbclid=IwAR2xX0Jl1AFC6x9HZ0LoWqHwKyjPf3tgelZ_BSdglwR9mfhHjR9rcfApavo
Another sold machine- great stuff
Just wondering but wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy the wood, use an old pc or pi and some controls than buying this if you are starting to add roms? And doesn’t that take away the “purist” aspect of a REAL arcade cabinet. I know that even the arcade 1up cabs are emulating as well and use the “actual rom” but even those I feel take away from the purity of the genuine thing running the actual board.
where do you get the Addon Tool
Wishlist:
Killer Instinct
NBA Jam
NFL Blitz
Golden Tee
Simpson
TMNT
NBA Jam works if you get the Genesis ROM.
KILLER INSTINCT 1 & 2. That’s why we here. Does it have it?
Any chance someone has a link to the core for Nintendo and Super Nintendo ? Thx
Kewl to know! By chance does the cheats work on the certain games they provide? Have fun getting this at Sam's Club cos it's sold out for now. AtGames knows they messed up in the past I'm willing to bet with new employees with a passion things are going to get way better.
Any word on Golden tee?
I don’t think it’s compatible with the current emulator core I’m using. I will put it on my list of things to test though. 👍🏻
@@RetroRalph Please test golden tee any of the versions, thats one of the versions I need. Also please test The Simpsons, and Simpsons Bowling if possible
for some reason I can't make it work like that . I had downloaded the software and followed the steps and all I get are non working games maybe my roms or the compiler. Is there another compiler that we could use? thanks
The emulator core is mame 2003 plus so you need to use a romset that’s compatible with that emulator core. Do you know what romset you’re using? If you google “Evil Walrus's ROM Set Pack MAME 2003 0.78” most of those roms should work without issues.
@@RetroRalph I really appreciate your quick response and the knowledge that you share with us. I had downloaded the pack and the most of the roms work if somebody reading this has the choplifter rom Id' appreciate it. Thanks and keep the good work
Can you put hyper spin on this cabinet
