Dear creator of this video, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! You'd made the one and only instruction of such a treacherous topic available for ordinary human being to understand!
If you have issues with the short end being too long, start with the shorter end higher up in the process. I did end up making the perfect knot thanks to this video.
I am now 72 and have a funeral to attend tomorrow. I have always lusted after being able to tie the Windsor knot, instead of the Schoolboy knot my Mother taught me back in 1957 for school. Alas it has always evaded me. I have watched your tutorial and am confident I will be able to tie my brand new black silk tie tomorrow in respect for our departed. Here's hoping...
Great question! The correct length of a tie should ideally have the tip of the tie just grazing the top of your belt buckle when tied. If you'd like a full tutorial on achieving the right length, feel free to check out my other video on this topic: ruclips.net/video/wCJaa8hnB-I/видео.html
I only know Eldredge knot😢 i only have 1 tie 😢😢 and It's difficult to do this simple one with this tie as my tie is mostly thin guess I've to stick with Elderege knot (it catches everyone's attention)
Hey, it sounds like you're already mastering the art of tying with the Eldredge knot, which is super impressive! 🎉 It definitely catches attention! If your tie works best with that knot, then stick with it! Each tie has its own personality, and it sounds like you've found a knot that suits yours perfectly. Keep turning heads! 👍
No problem at all - tying a tie can be tricky! Here’s a tip: try practicing slowly in front of a mirror, pausing after each step in the video. Clicking the video Settings and reducing the Playback Speed may also help. It might take a few of tries, but you’ll get it. A little trial-and-error and before long you'll be doing it with your eyes closed 👍
Try starting out with the wide end of the tie sitting lower. The starting position of your tie will have a big impact on the final result. If you're tall, then you may need to adjust for that in your starting position by starting out with the wide end sitting lower. We all come in different shapes and sizes. No two individuals have the same body structure. So it might take a little trial-and-error to find that sweet spot. Hope this helps 👍
I used a different method to achieve the same knot but kept forgetting it. This one looks easier to remember. Thanks!
You're very welcome! I'm glad this method works for you! 👍
This was my first time tying a necktie. I only found success in this video. Thanks!

Thank you so much man! Finally got the hold of it after watching 10 shorts
Nice work! Love your persistence! Congrats on mastering the Windsor knot! 👍
How TF does the narrow end keep coming out longer than the wide end! This video doesn’t address that
