Got a moto-tec verticutter cartridge for my Screwfix scarifier and tried it for the first time last week…have to say it made a massive difference to the lawn! Even the kids commented on how good the grass looked today about 5 days after
@@NoviceGardener I have the same as you…the black scarify attachment, which I tried first, just like this video. The mototec one has double the amount of blades, the blades are much thinner and sharper, and each blade has multiple teeth…it’s a much more efficient and refined version of what you used here…if you want it looking super smart I think you’ll love it.
I have loads of leather jackets in my lawn. Crane flys coming out on evening over the last few days. Would I be on to apply nematodes with napsack sprayer?
Since using this cordless, I’d definitely say it’s worth it. Much more convenient without faffing about with the cable. Cheers for the video idea though, I’ll try and sort something like that 👍🏻
@@NoviceGardener thank you for responding. I’m in the process of learning and enjoying your channel. I don’t own a scarifier yet, trying to decide between corded/cordless and possibly a new lawnmower that I can use to stripe as well. Same brand would mean battery share but the Einhell mower seems light with no roller. Be interested to hear about any other cordless mowers you have used.
A lot of people like myself don't have a verti cutter, is there anything else I can use. I have the screwfix scarifier with a raking attachment do you think that would help do a similar job.
What height are you cutting at? I accidently cut mine at 13mm lol. the webb dropped to the lowest setting lol. I'll try to raise it to 15-18mm from now on.
I actually want to order a real verticutter cassette which have 20 ninja blades for my Einhell from Moto-tek, I had sent several emails to them, but they never reply emails.
Order what you want online. You’ll receive an email giving you an order number and a couple of weeks acknowledgement that your order is ready. I had no direct communication with Mark throughout the process
@@keithcullen4703 I have a Einhell cordless scarifier, but they don’t have verticutter cassette for Einhell, so I emailed them and asked if they would make verticutter cassette for Einhell cordless scarifier which is pretty popular these days.
@@keithcullen4703I have a Einhell cordless scarifier, but they don’t have vertcutter cassette for my machine, so I emailed them asking if they would make cassette for Einhell scarifier in the future, if they don’t have such plan I may consider to buy a cheap Lidl Parkside scarifier to match their verticutter cassette.
Yep I got a moto-tec verticutter cylinder a couple of weeks ago for my screwfix scarifier…great piece of kit and will be a regular part of my maintenance from now on

Joyce's / Moto-Tek verticutters are absolute top tier!
I’m going to try and pick one up to give it a go if they can do one for the Einhell. Will be interesting to see the difference

Yeah I've got one as well, it seemed mad spending £150 on the attachment when the scarifier was only £70 when i bought it, but the results are good
I'd lightly top dress that hollow dip with some kiln dried sand build it up over next season👍
Great shout 👍🏻
Funnily enough, I was out on Saturday slightly amending levels, but like you said, will take time next season

I've not applied them before so probably not the best to help with that one - sorry!
I see you've got the dreaded worm casts, I always get them this time of year also
@@geoffreyedmundson9928 put some iron on it. Shaun at Lawnrite has suggested this as a means of suppressing it
They’ve done my nut in! 😅
Would be interested in a video of what equipment you use. Would you recommend the cordless scarifier over a corded one?

The rake attachment would work, but the scarifier blades can work if they’re sharp enough. The differences are not nearly as big as some think.
The front rye grass lawn looks your best... just saying
What grass type do you have in this video?
He says it in the first 20 seconds, bent fescue
@@terenceappleby9422 Oh sorry, i didn't watch the video

I’m still cutting at 15, but going to be bringing it up slightly soon, but not sure how far yet.
i have barenbrug rpr, its supposed to "self repair" using stolons.
That’s the rye that’s the exception. Most other varieties don’t produce them

A verticutter has many more blades and closer together than that. Not remotely verticutting!
You’d be surprised how similar they are, particularly on a domestic lawn.
