    an important point to make is that you can change stamps and oils at any time prior to actually starting the battle. Once the battle screen has come up, you don't hit "fight" instead you change your stamps and oils to suit the new opponent (plus your armour and weapons and belt items). Stamps can be changed by clicking shift-click on them. Oils can only be changed if you have a replacement oil, you can't redeem old ones, so that's something you only do if you have the resources to do it. However, different enemies have different attacks. The Guard, for instance, likes using opportunity attacks, so you should apply stamps to counter that, like Enhanced Visibility. Other troops like using poison, while Alzarians like using attacks that cause Blackout, weakness and vulnerability so you'll need a stamp from a high level helmet to counter that (level 4 stability). You can have a spare copy of some weapons optimised to say, fight plagued creatures and switch to that weapon when necessary - plague oil is rare as you have to kill a rat queen to get the brain necessary.

    Always consider how many times a weapon hits per turn, so a weapon that hits three times in your turn will have three chances to cause damage - so the 5% of misty oil, with a bit of luck, has the potential to become 15%. Especially good with a belt item making the attack near certain. There are also some weapons with the "natural strike" ability that always activate the oil.

      That is a good point, appreciate the input

    Damn, I've been playing nothing but this game for couple weeks now, and I had no idea the stamps even existed, since I didn't find much value in dismantling weapons or armor. -.-

      You learn something in this game every day.

    You have to decide if you are going to get your enemies before they get you. If that's the case, then a lot of the oils are useless, as the enemy has to attack you to make them work. That's where something like misty oil is good as although it doesn't do much it directly attacks the opponent's health as soon as you hit them. Other attacks don't work until the end of the enemy's turn and you want the enemy to die on your turn.

      I wouldn‘t say that they are useless, there are definitely uses for instance for DoT oils, it is just not as strong as other oils. But the hit point damage can come in handy.

    Maybe information where the various recipes for the oils could be gotten from would help as well.

    bleeding oil has another effect than whetting oil, the bleeding oil triggers the damage instant when the target has bleeding, whetting oil applys bleeding debuff... you can use both to instant cause the dmg tick instead of waiting for the enemys turn

    Have you worked out whether oils like fever (putrid) oil apply when they hit or only the next time you hit? Same goes for a lot of helmet stamps, they have these effects that apply when you hit but is the damage done, then the status effect applied afterwards, or are both applied at once?

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  3 месяца назад

      The status effect is applied afterwards unfortunately, not during the hit

    How do you get Weapon Layers? Sorry newbie question

    • @Relytnevir
      @Relytnevir 3 месяца назад

      There's armor layers for armor and oils for weapons (and apparently stamps for helmets though I've not gotten far enough to see them)
      It's a good question (so dont beat yourself up for it!) and something I was wondering for a while before I saw this guide as I'd never looked into oils before.

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  2 месяца назад

      Weapon oils can be crafted. Layers on weapons are either on good quality weapons that you get from fights or from perfect smithing. There is also an option to increase the quality of a weapon via smithing, but it costs materials.

    The only oils that work 100% of the time are sharpness and penetration oils, they work well together and on your turn.

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  3 месяца назад

      Yeah, you need specific trinkets in order to make them work 100%, each oil has one

    Hi,
    I have a master thinkerer and also a workbench 2 stars level ... But when I try to disasemble an helmet I got no stamp at all ... any clue ?
    Thanks,

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi LKS,
      I am not sure why it doesn‘t work. As soon as you are a master and have a full workbench, you should get stamps from every helmet. Make sure that the right tinkerer is dismanteling them.
      Other than that, I have no idea :/

    can you replace oils on weapons?

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, that is totally possible, when you replace it, the game will ask you which of the oils on the weapon you'd like to replace.
