I agree. He needs to strum some open chords and strum more toward the neck just to give us the deeper richer sound. Either that or just stop demoing acoustics
I have several yamahas. I want anyone reading this to know that the 830 is a solid guitar. This video unfortunately did the opposite of showcasing that. Maybe have another person demo the guitars?
If you can afford it, and dont need a cutaway, buy the 830. If you dont like the rosewood sound, get an FG820, which has laminate mahogany back and sides. I tried both and went for the 820, but its a personal thing. Try to play them first. Also, do you need a pickup? If not why pay for one you dont use.
At this point in time you probably already made a choice. I have the fg 730 and I can't stop being impressed with it even after 7 years or so of ownership. I want to expand my guitar collection for an 830 precisely in the color as the one in the video just to mix things up a bit
This guy has a talent for making every guitar he touches sound like shit!

And maybe his mic set up sucks too
:D
He is clearly an electric guitar player.

Suggest you back off the mic a tad or ease on the strumming. Sounds a little abrasive and doesn’t do the guitar justice.
Yeah too brittle sound
Sounds nice and crisp to me, like rosewood should. Nice little sound sample. Cheers.
Hi I’m in dilemma about buying a Yamaha FGX800C Electric Acoustic Guitar or a Yamaha FG830 Guitar, can people give me some opinions about both?
Thanks
FG 830 proceed...

Is this a good color for an acoustic guitar? I'm not sure.
The model comes in three solid top finishes and i believe it all depends on the preference of the player
just realized this comment was a year ago
Look at towns van zandt Pancho and lefty song and see that guitar

Help me choosing between
Yamaha fg830
Fender Cd60S

I think yamaha better. You can listen FG730, with no scalloped bracing
