Great guitars both, but in this particular case the Cort impressed me more than The FG 830. Even I'm a big fan of Yamaha guitars I have to admit that here the Cort is the winner for my ears.
Hi Antal, thank you very much for watching my video, yes it's true, the Cort guitar has a little more sonic strength, the Yamaha guitar has a softer sound, however they are two very good guitars for the price. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Italy.
I played my FG830 constantly at first. It was my first guitar, played it for almost 1 year but then. I bought a Martin D16E. I can't bear to play the Yamaha. I am older and playing still hurts my hands (even after 2 years.) I need an easy playing guitar. I had action work done on the Yamaha (3 times.) Sure it can be made easier to fret but never come close to that Martin sound. I have 2x FGX5 on order (summer delivery.) These Recording King Series 11's (good first guitar choice) are sounding way cool for the money. There must be thousands that started on a Yamaha.
Thank you for watching my video, it is true Yamaha makes excellent guitars with a low price, many guitarists started with Yamaha guitars, Cort also produces excellent guitars at low prices, well built guitars with beautiful finishes and with an excellent sound. Sure Martin guitars are superior to Oriental guitars, but they also cost more. Thank you again, and sorry for my English, I hope you understand, Greetings from Italy.
@@31leoceara Hi. Now I have a Yamaha FGX5 (and the Martin) They cost almost exactly the same. I play them against each other daily. I can't say which one is better. Better electronics with the Yamaha. The narrower body of the D16 is more comfortable. Better looking tuners on the Martin, better wood appearance on the Yamaha. My Martin has a huge "bear claw' on the top, very visible. I just can't say which one sounds better. I can play the Martin better as I have played it right at 800-1000 hrs in a year (4 string changes. Soon I restring the Yamaha from factory selected strings to the same 80/20 phosphor/bronze I am using on the Martin. Then we see. I traded in the FG830, it served its purpose well. Better guitar has made me a better player but the next upgrade won't. Diminishing returns.

Hi Vincenzo, thank you for watching my video, and I'm glad you enjoyed it, the song you ask me starting at 6:00 is a very famous song: "The House of the Rising Sun ", but I play it in a personal way and without obligation, my aim in this video is just to make a comparison between the two guitars, thanks again and greetings from Italy.
No contest. With 70 years playing experience, I give the nod to the 830. I advised my son to buy the Yamaha 830. He did. For a laminated guitar it rules the roost (IMO of course) But if you like the Cort? Go with it!!!
Great playing, thanks for comparsion! For a good finish and price/range I would prefer Cort, but I think it would be in stock? Cause' rosewood is still rare, quarantine in China or Europe and delivery is too slow. But I want it! Greetings from Russia!
Hi Nick, thank you for watching my video, the Cort is a good guitar, and it's great value for money, if you can find it in rosewood it's a great deal, the current productions are in pao ferro, but they sound good too . Sorry for my English, greetings from Italy.
@@ClaudioFiammenghi So Pau Ferro is Bolivian Rosewood isn't it. I think its some sort of cheap rosewood, the same sort of trees, but every rosewood no matter Pau Ferro or Indian is rare, because its classic and every musicians needs to have own copy of Martin D-28. However, if that model would not be in stock, I bought Cort Earth 100 in the natural satin, cause I love a natural matte finish. Keep it Up!
Been checking out the Corts for a while in comparison vids against Taylor, Yamaha, furst and so far Cort has delivered more mid range tones ..not just a booming low E and over bright B and high E strings but a stronger A,D,G presence and thats important for recording your work..
Sounds like brand new strings that aren't stretched yet. Not quite in tune. You can balance tune those guitars, when the strings get stretched. They both sound very good, and I like your playing too. Thanks for the video!
Hi Stacy, thanks for watching my video, yeah the strings were brand new, and probably slightly out of tune. Sorry for my English, and greetings from Italy.
Awesome. There's a tuning called the Nashville Tuning. The individual strings are tuned slightly off, but together, the guitar sounds more in tune. You may have checked it out already. I like your way of playing. Keep playing!! Be blessed
Comparing the price tag - Cort wins. Sound is for Yamaha all the way - rich, spanned, clearer. I like you playing style - it is so lively. After this video I start thinking good on Cort guitars. Unfortunately, I don't find difference in Elixir string and standard one on fg830 I own.
Hi, thanks for watching my video, they are two guitars with a great value for money, the Cort guitar has a more powerful sound, the Yamaha has a sweeter, more rounded sound, however two good guitars for the price. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Italy.
Yamaha more mellow but very bakanced sounding, it sounds expensive Cort louder but isnt smooth sounding, you can literally hear the sound of the pick and not the sound of the strings resonating
Hi, thanks for watching my video, in this video I didn't put any specific song, but I only played improvised chord sequences. What you listen to at 2:00 is just a tour of Blues that I improvise. Thanks for the compliments, greetings from Italy.
Actually, both sounds very pretty. Personally I would not really choose the Cort since Yamaha actually produces higher quality guitars in the same price range. For me I could hear that “traditional” Cort sound which makes me feel bored... And meanwhile Yamaha has nicer dynamic. Cort is the biggest guitar producer but doesn’t mean they produces the best guitars. Me: Former Cort owner current owning Yamaha FG830... XD
They are two guitars with an excellent quality / price ratio, and they play well in relation to their price, Cort is stronger than Yamaha on medium frequencies, Yamaha has a softer sound, maybe warmer, but Cort makes itself feel strong, but I I love them both. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Italy.

Hi Brendan, thanks for watching my video, in these sad days I am closed at home because of this tremendous crown virus epidemic, I live in Italy in the Lombardy region where we are in a really difficult situation, so I'm glad that from other countries watch my videos. Sorry for my english, greetings from Italy.
IMO Cort has deeper body hence the bigger sound and also the elixirs on the yamaha are tinny. If you listen to the first fingerstyle comparison you can tell that the yamaha rings like a bell and has way better resonance. I sold my cort then got a sigma, sold the sigma to get a martin djr. I bought a yamaha jr2 for my daughter and I enjoy playing the jr2 compared to the martin. For the price of yamaha, I wasn’t expecting to like the sound of it. Don’t get me wrong the martin djr sounds great compared to the yamaha jr2 of course but I just don’t think it’s worth the price so I sold it and I’m buying the fg30 instead. Also it’s worth noting that the martin djr is very uncomfortable for me to play, maybe it’s the 1-3/4 nut width but I don’t know. After all, what’s the point of having a Martin if I don’t enjoy playing it.
Hi, thanks for watching my video, you're right you have to have them and play guitars, and you have to like them. Anyway the Yamaha FG-830 is a very good guitar in relation to the price, and it sounds really good, even the Cort sounds really good, I recommend if you have the possibility, to try them both before deciding, just the test done. it really makes you understand which guitar you like. Hope this was helpful to you, sorry for my English. Greetings from Italy.
I know we aren't supposed to be judgemental. But the 830 gets the nod from me!!! This is why I chose the 830 over the Cort. The 830 just a teenie bit sweeter'n the FG800 I owned. I Used the 800 to trade up to a Martin .
Hi Arthur, yes the Yamaha sounds hotter than Cort, but Cort is more powerful, the Martin guitars are of another level, I own two Martin guitars, D-45 and D-42, I also had J-40 and HJ- 38 but it is a comparison that it would not make sense to do it with Cort or Yamaha. Martin are the best acoustic guitars in the world. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Italy.

Hi , your opening lick in your blues guitar example i find it the hardest part to play like you. it sounds like down up down on each slide on the G and B strings. Maybe there is somebody out there that could help me with that. The rest i am fine with.
Hi Warren, sorry I didn't understand the question well, unfortunately I don't know how to speak English, I use Google translate, if you refer to the blues I play in the key of E major, I can only tell you that I improvise standard licks that are often used in the blues. I can tell you that if you want to learn certain licks you have to listen to many traditional blues songs, from the great fathers of the blues, such as Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Lightnin 'Hopkins, Reverend Gary Davis, Big Bill Broonzy, and many other Country Blues greats. I hope I helped you, sorry for my english. Greetings from Italy.

@@francismarcela6207 Hi, thanks for watching my video, as far as your question is concerned, I have to answer that you absolutely cannot make a comparison between guitars that have a price tens of times higher than Cort guitars, I can tell you that Cort guitars and also Yamaha guitars have an excellent quality/price ratio. Then it also depends on the guitarist's ability to make a good sound, but you must also understand that a super car will always have superior performance to a small car. Hi, I cannot decide which one should I order: Yamaha FG-800 or Cort Earth 100RW? In my shop they are exactly same price, but I'm not able to hear them live, what would you suggest?
Hi, thanks for watching my video, you ask me which one to choose between the Yamaha FG-800 and the Cort Earth 100 RW, as you can see in my video I'm making a comparison with a Yamaha FG-830 and not a FG- 800, the Yamaha FG-800 is a lower quality model than the FG-830, so for the same price I would definitely choose the Cort Earth 100RW. @@ClaudioFiammenghi Yeah, I think that too... It is so strange, all around the world FG800 costs 199$ and Earth 100 RW costs far more, but we have opposite situation, FG800 is more expensive and FG830 is waaaaay beyond of my budget. And because of that people around tell about that you MUST choose FG because of the Yamaha's magic sound and Cort's boxy sound, but I suspect that it is only a matter of name of brand, each guitar has a unique sound I guess, not worse or better, and it's definitely impossible to hear the real sound from tiny speakers of laptop. Objective plus of Earth 100 RW is better materials and comfort strings' action and it also has a rosewood, which is rare nowadays.

Cort.👍

Great comparison! Cort had more volume but both sounded good to my ears ☺ Greetings from Canada! 👍
Hello, thanks for watching my video, and thanks for joining my yuotube channel. Yes, it's true that the Cort has a lot more sound power towards the Yamaha, but the yamaha has a warmer sound. However they are two excellent guitars, with an excellent quality / price ratio. Sorry for my English, greetings from Italy.
Cord cheeper then Yamaha fg830

I think I like the Cort sounds better and definitely like the look better. I have never owned either brand so I only know what I hear here online. I have owned some top notch guitars over my many years of playing. Gibson hummingbird,Guild d40, Taylor, and a very expensive hand made takamine, a BlueRidge BR180.If you play well "which You do" then just about any guitar will sound great. I own an Epiphone Fountier Masterbuilt at present.
Hi Emma, thanks for watching my video, yes you say a real thing, if you can play well, even the less expensive guitars will sound good, these are two low priced guitars, but they sound really good for their cost. Sorry for my English, greetings from Italy.
I would be very surprised if the Martin D16E did not sound better. It costs 10 times the price of the Yamaha.
Gracias por este vídeo. Tenía tantas dudas con la marca Cort. Suena bastante bien

Hi, it's not a specific song, it's just an improvised round of blues
No contest. With 70 years playing experience, I give the nod to the 830. I advised my son to buy the Yamaha 830. He did. For a laminated guitar it rules the
roost (IMO of course) But if you like the Cort? Go with it!!!
Solid top on the yammie tho

Keep it Up!
Got so wrapped up in the music I forgot what the point was... Nice set!
Be blessed

Yamaha more mellow but very bakanced sounding, it sounds expensive
Cort louder but isnt smooth sounding, you can literally hear the sound of the pick and not the sound of the strings resonating

Hi, thanks for watching my video, in this video I didn't put any specific song, but I only played improvised chord sequences. What you listen to at 2:00 is just a tour of Blues that I improvise. Thanks for the compliments, greetings from Italy.
I like the sound of yamaha guitar
@@ClaudioFiammenghi . Hope all is well. Your English is excellent dude, no apologies needed 👌
The 830 just a teenie bit
sweeter'n the FG800 I owned.
Cort 😮
Cort WIN! Sharp and Full sound VS Plastic from Yamaha
The ridiculous fact here is that this Cort model is half the price of the Yamaha fg830 where I live.
Cort makes guitars at good prices but with excellent quality for the price.

Hi Mathieu, thanks for watching my video, that song that you ask me, starting from 2.10, is just a round of blues that I enjoy doing, it's not a specific song. Sorry for my English, greetings from Italy.
Cort sounds more balanced and Taylor-ish, this may be also due to the strings as the EXP have a more natural sound compared to the Elixirs
Hi, thanks for watching my video, it's probably partly a question of the type of strings, but I think it's also due to the diversity of the guitars. However, two very good guitars in relation to the price. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Italy.
Yamaha seems better due to any bigger box volume as for me.
I hope I was helpful. Greetings from Italy.
Ottimo confronto.
