It's pretty clear she's staying because he treats her right, but she not gonna commit the way he will. He needs to let her go, and she needs to have some integrity and not give him false hope.

okay i understand her not wanting to get married as its not for everyone, but her saying ‘you’re not getting my money’ was so unnecessary lol. may he find someone who wants that commitment
I've met a lot of people who associate marriage with financial control, there's nothing wrong with feeling that way. It's totally okay to have split finances and a pre-nup or something like that, which gives both of them security, but we don't know if they've talked about that. If they have, we don't know how that conversation went on either side. I don't think people should commit to their first and only relationship, but having different ideas about marriage is for sure not a deal-breaker. Source: after 8 years I'm engaged to a guy who didn't care about marriage AND didn't believe in pre-nups, and I was the opposite lol. We're on the same page now. It's not hard to close that distance, just takes communication!
She’s mentally and emotionally checked out and needs to find the decency to let him go. That way he can start doing the work necessary to be ready when the right person for him enters his life
Sometimes people don't really need to get married to be together. They can watch this together and figure things out instead of a stranger like you making assumptions.
He seems like a good guy. She thinks she's too good for him only because he's being vulnerable. She is taking advantage of his feelings. She'll realize what she lost when it's too late. Hopefully he meets a beautiful, nice and loving gal.
Down the line the compatibility issues are just gonna show, and feelings will get HURT. I won't throw harsh judgement on high school kids especially because her feelings are valid too and to each their own, but even when she was speaking about him, you could feel the dismissive vibe. She's not seeing you as her endgame bro. And that's not what you deserve. So yeah, boy run.
This reminds me of my HS relationship. I hope this young man finds the peace to not settle, move on and wait for the one who reciprocates his love the way I'm glad my hs-bf moved on from me. I wasn't horrible or anything, but, like this dude, he was more into us than I ever was and I'm happy for him that he pulled the trigger and moved on. He was a great guy; still the best person I've ever met, still, all these decades later, and I hope he found true love, acceptance and happiness with someone.
I remember being with my highschool sweet heart for 9 1/2 years I can assure you that when you grow into an adult just like how your taste in music changes so will you, as sad as it may be. But there is a potential happy ending. You may end up with someone else from highschool but in adult life just as I have and have a mature relationship.

My friend. Get a nice haircut. Build your confidence. And get rid of this girl. She’s average at best in the looks department and well below internally. You can do far better.
Has not nothing do with feminism. Research shows that women hardly benefit from marriage and child birth in the long run. Men these days are often too broke to keep a family.
You’re welcome, but you don’t have feminism to thank for women being over being expected to be both wife and mother to our adult partners. You can thank the patriarchy and men in general, for that.
