He might’ve just been plain on purpose because he wasn’t physically attracted to her and wanted to use the excuse of awkwardness. However, he did seem nervous so I think in combination with attraction he also just didn’t know what to say and tried to play it off funnily.

I think the reasoning Amaleigh gave could apply to herself too, though. She shouldn't label herself as 'less than' and feel like she would hamper someone else who can walk just because she can't. If anything I'd say people interested in her would prove they see her for more than just her body, and shouldn't be shot down so quick. You could also argue that someone interested in her who is super active and exercises a lot could want to do so even more in order to care for, help, and protect her since she is not as able to. I think that would be super romantic.

I really feel that Emily is in a constant defense mechanism. Maybe is a product of past bad experiences but I hope in the future she doesn't have the necessity to justify why someone would not want her or even if it would be uncomfortable to push a wheelchair. If you love someone you do an effort for them and I think she doesn't have trust in someone doing that effort for her.

The girl on the wheelchair had self-steem problems I think, I think she was really cute, I'm a pretty active person too but I do that on my own anyway, I could still get a lot of exercise from carrying her in my arms, she's a human being just like me, not less or more, we're all equals, I'm the one who decides if my life is hindered or not, I hope she overcomes whatever is hurting her.
