My mom is gay and Bella reminds me so much of the dozens of gay women who helped raise me. Many of them had their families disowned them, so the community is very tight-knit and family-like. I turned out to be a straight cis woman, and it was really a gift to be brought up by a group of people so fully true to who they are. That's rare. I am rather femme, but I feel confident it's who I really am because not once was I expected or pressured to conform to any mold. They grew up never even seeing non-straight people in media and so they simply had to forge their own paths and do so with incredible strength, because man, the shit they faced. I'm so happy to see that path is paved for future generations and that it's ever-expanding into endless avenues. Everyone deserves to be themselves without a fight.

Meanwhile, for me a combination of wide shoulders and large breasts means that I end up wearing unisex and men’s tops 😂. I can’t cross my arms in women’s tops.
