- The NFCYM community is deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Bishop David G. O'Connell. We offer prayers for the repose soul of Bishop O'Connell, his family, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
During the 2022 NCYC, participants were blessed to have Bishop O'Connell lead them in prayer in the Friday morning general session. He had a great love for the young church and truly advocated for empowering young people. While there are no words sufficient to express our gratitude for his service to the Church, we hope that by sharing the video of that general session, we can honor his memory and find a moment of peace.

I lived in California for 30 years and I thank God for all the Bishops, priests and religious guiding and praying for all Catholics. Bishop David is now in heaven but with all of us now in spirit and more prayers from him to our Lord Jesus. Amen.
He was our priest at St Hillary’s parish and he made a great impact in my life. I m so heartbroken since his life was taken and is now a true martyr in Heaven ❤🙏

Ireland, Bishop Dave's country of birth needs a faith revival. Let us all offer prayers to Ireland and all the people there, who saved western civilization as per Fr. Chris Alar's visit in Ireland a few weeks ago. Many countries in the world are suffering for lack of faith in God and in Jesus. Let us all pray especially the Holy Rosary to our Lady of Knock. Amen.

I feel so peaceful when Bishop Dave teaches us how to pray to Jesus with love and as he prays with us too. So sad we lost him. I don’t know him but I feel close to him and so grateful to him for helping me be even closer to Jesus. Rest in peace in Jesus’ arms, Bishop Dave ❤
After seeing this video I can really understand the outpouring of love that Cardinal O’Connell’s community has expressed for him. What a humble, loving soul. His death is a tragic loss both to his family and his parishioners, and to all of us who know what a gift it is to have a good priest like Cardinal O’Connell. I am so grateful youtube directed me to this video of the late Bishop O’Connell. 🙏He was so Holy and Spirit filled just from watching this video on his amazing profession of faith and God’s love. I wish I would have known him in his life here on earth, but will pray to him now for he gave us a great gift through these teachings. 🙏Those who were blessed by his presence and spiritual guidance are forever blessed.🙏so sad our Catholic Church lost a wonderful, holy Shepherd and true Servant of Christ.🙏✝️💜

Why was he murdered?
Oh man Jesse Romero had some creepy stuff to say about Bishop. My goodness he took 2 to the back of the head. He was placed on his back arms crossed, a freemason pose . This good man, may he RIP. Something pretty mysterious going on in LA.
I hope the rumors aren’t true of him attending bohemian grove in 2017…
Lest we forget, Jesus dined with tax collectors and sinners. Bishop Dave was doing Jesus' work.

Some people go along to these things without knowing what they're getting into and come out much more committed to their faith. Reminds me of an old friend of mine actually. Bishop McConnell made the right choice in the end and paid a terrible price for it
