Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time RUclipsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. Ok, THAT'S what the stick is for! Thank you! I always neglect putting stuff like that on my feet because I don't want to get my hands all goopy and wash them AGAIN at the end of my night routine. This is perfect!

As for matt lipsticks my recommendation would be a Korean Brand called Espoir. I have never ever had such a velvety, non drying matt formula on my lips. It's amazing!

This video couldn’t have come out at a better time! My husband got me a $75 gift card for Mother’s Day and I have been AGONIZING over what to get! Just placed an order with a few of the lip products you mentioned (the lip plumper, one shade of the Cay and two shades of the Sephora) and a mini NARS Radiant concealer because I’ve just never been able to pull the trigger on it. Thanks for always putting out great content!
Thank you for this video! I don't shop at Sephora a lot because the prices are overwhelming to this drugstore-loving girl! But my husband wanted me to treat myself for my birthday this month so he got me a Sephora giftcard (and coffee beans!). He knows how much I love makeup (and coffee!), but knows that I don't typically go for more expensive stuff. I'm not really in need of anything at the moment, but that glycolic acid stick and those SPF lip balms are things that I can totally get behind for summer! Also, do we have the same feet? Because I swear I've tried everything and they are still dry, cracked, and rough. I completely got you when you said they catch on the sheets! I'm embarassed to wear sandles to be honest. One obstacle I face is I simple hate sleeping in socks, no matter the season, but especially now we're in the warmer months...
I have the Cay lip balm in clear and it’s fabulous, like you, I can’t understand why we don’t hear more about it. It’s great! Long lasting and shiny.
Been using the Jack Black lip balm for several years now. I love it. Never knew it was supposed to be for men. Oh well I still love it.

The Sephora cleansing balm makeup remover is great!
I can vouch for Freck Cheak Slime. I love it more than Rare Beauty liquid blush. The pigmentation is buildable but not overwhelming pigmented. Looks beautiful on the skin too!
I wore black honey in high school. 50 years ago. It came in a small pot. I can wait to try the pink.

Freck is a brand that I’m going to try more from. The blushes that you showed launched maybe two years ago, I really like the one I’ve bought. Babs Beauty here on YT swears by their moisturiser in the tube ( she also likes the lip balm from Cay Skin ). I’m next going to try the lipliners and lipsticks from Freck.
We used to be able to buy the lip balm from Jack Black here in Sweden, but I can’t find it anywhere🥲, I’m now squeezing out the last of my two tubes. Thanks for sharing your recommendations! 💕
I love the freck lipsticks and cheek slime. They also have a good hydrating primer called the Rich B*tch.
I had Pink Honey and Meadow Honey when they were first released. I liked them much better than Black Honey. Pink Honey was a perfect match with their Pink Blush, which used to be my everyday blush.

Been enjoying the ELF Lash Extender very much lately. I suggest Bag Balm for rough feet after you achieve max softness from the stick? I use it when I train for a local walk relay and it prevents blisters and calluses very well. Not the very best smell, but such soft skin! I prefer it to any perfumed cream.

I'm with you on the mini mascaras.....I'm pretty religious about tossing my mascara after four months too, and the big tubes never get used up by then. That glycolic acid stick sounds great! Did you notice any stinging when you applied it?
Not at all! But the skin on my feet is pretty toughened/callused so maybe that's why. It might tingle if you use it on arms/legs. :)
I have the Ordinary Glycolic and it’s too much for my face. Thanks for the idea for using on your body! That’s what I’ll use it for! 😊
I’m a fan of the Inky List. Everything I’ve tried from them has been A+. I love seeing those nails on you! I am a press on (glue on) girl. There are so many good ones out there.
Yes! These are the impress ones that don't need the glue. :)
Jack black lip balm is better than any balm I’ve tried! Hands down
Your hands look so nice, less dry and bravo on the long nails. They look so nice. You should wear long nails more often. They make any hands look 1000 times better.
The only Sephora collection skincare product I’ve tried is the firming eye cream, and I really like it. I’ve purchased it a couple of times. Also caliray mascara is my holy grail. It doesn’t smudge!
I’ve long enjoyed Jack Black lip balms, though I still wish they were at the $8.00 price tag!! Will save this video for future reference on the other items mentioned!👍🎉

I need to try that exfoliating stick for my calluses, me too I don’t like having to rub foot cream all over my feet. I usually do that right after my shower and put my socks on and let it sit while I do my makeup and hair. I can’t sleep in socks unless it’s in the winter months. Love the curl in your hair.❤

Sephora also has a 2 pack of the Caliray mascara for 32$ but it’s currently sold out. I got a mini as well and have been loving it. I hope they restock the 2 pack because that’s a great deal 😭

The Sephora Sun Safety Kit contains a full size of the Cay Skin Isle lip balm in clear plus a variety of deluxe samples and regular samples of various sunscreens.
The only matte lipstick that I can wear comfortably for a few hrs. is from Bourjois. It is a liquid lipstick. Very good quality! 👍
I miss Bourjois. We used to carry it at Sephora.

Sephora brand does well on the Yuka app.
I agree with you on the mini sized mascara, that is all I buy. If a brand doesn't offer it I do not purchase it. I did not come to this conclusion until recently, the heartbreak I felt for throwing away a ysl mascara that cost me over $30 and to be honest I did not love. I was hooked on caliray for a while, then I found tower 28 and Charlotte Tilbury. I do keep it in my rotation but I do prefer the two latter. If I may also suggest an under rated or forgotten product, the Loreal lumi glotion the one Charlotte Tilbury duped! Its a great product I like even more than CT, under make up its a chefs kiss.

I love to slather the Jack Black lip balms at night and gently buff the product off in the morning. It gets rid of all the flakes and you have the softest, smoothest lips. Products like the Laneige never worked for me.

Hi Jen, Yay! Products under $25 at Sephora that work well! I really like their foundation. I am not big into lip plumpers, but the one from Caliray looks promising! I bought two from City Lips on sale and can't use them because they leave a red irritated rim around my lips, not very attractive.🙁💚
This one might do the same thing if you put it up to the edge of your lips. I think the City Lips has a similar ingredients. It's a vasodialator so it's going to cause the blood to rush to the surface. They usually suggest keeping them inside your lip line so they don't do that. :)

Have you tried the Morphe liquid matte lipsticks? I hate having dry lips and apply lip balm several times a day and can wear the Morphe liquid mattes with no problem. It did not dry out my lips like so many others.

Hi, Jen! Your videos always make me smile. We have a Sephora in our Kohl's store. I'm sure it has limited product than the regular stores. The last time I saw a Sephora store, it was in Georgetown, VA. I always thought Sephora was kind of dark and gloomy, while I shop quite frequently in our Ulta store here in Vestal, which seems bright and cheery to me. Nevertheless, I think I'd like to poke around at Sephora at Kohl's and see if they have any products you suggest, like the stick exfoliator. My heels are a wreck right now, and I want to go get my sandals out of storage. You mentioned Clinique"s Black Honey. That's actually been around since I was in high school, in the mid 80s! I have a tinted balm from Keys Soul Care, and it's a terrific dupe for Black Honey. I like my liptints, glosses, etc. to have a saturated pigment, because I have no pigment in my lips. So some of my lip products seem on the bold side, but look all right with my no-pigment lips. Trust me, I am as white as the driven snow, lol, and I have just a faint hint of pink in my lips. That's my Irish showing, lol!
Have you ever been to Chincoteague Island, in VA? It's where the ponies are. I read the Misty books when I was a kid. The two children that found Misty on Assateague Island and brought her back to Chincoteague still have descendants living there. It is beautiful there, and even during high season, it's very peaceful. It's been awhile since I've been there, and I wanted to go back, so my younger sister and I will be there in July. If you're looking for a place to take your family, I highly recommend it! They have a pony centre there, with a number of Misty's grandchildren. They perform dressage, and it's amazing! You're also allowed to pet the ponies! There's a great beach on Assateague. which is a quick drive. I'm looking forward to boogieboarding. Try Vrbo and rent a cottage. It's actually less expensive than the hotels. And the seafood there is to die for!
Wait Vestal has an Ulta now?? If I still lived there I would be so happy, haha. There were no beauty stores when I lived there and coming from working at Sephora to having just drugstores to shop at was a shock. I've driven through Chincoteague Island on my way South and always wanted to stop there but we never did. I would love to go there at some point!
@@JenPhelps Oh, yes! We have an Ulta now, a big one! It's been at least a decade since they put it in. It's a pretty good size one, too. It's in the Town Square Mall, near Wal-Mart. I was always sad we had no beauty stores, except for Sally, which is why I went nuts when we got an Ulta.
Chincoteague is so beautiful, and I absolutely adore the ponies! For such a tiny island, there are plenty of things to do. Everything runs on Island Time, lol!
My sister and I are going for some R&R. It's been a complete nightmare since my parents died, and it hit me worst of all, because I lived downstairs from them and could see them every day. I just need to get out of here for awhile.

I also love the Caliray mascara! I recently got a sample of it and can’t stop wearing it. No smudging!!! Every mascara smudges/transfers on me. Not that one! And the lashes look so full and fluffy. 😊
