I love that Chinese Pistashe but I'm worried about how to water and how much when establishing. I don't have drip. Any advice? I live north of you with the same hot dry climate.
I used 3 gallon jugs each with a small hole near the bottom when I first planted the tree. I would place them around the drip line of the tree one or two days a week. In the first year, I think I filled each bottle two times at each watering. So the tree got about 6 gallons of water each time. As it got bigger I moved the bottles around a bit more and watered the same amount. Once I got the drip installed I continued to try and deep water using the gallon jugs since the drip is mainly for the other plants. I have also heard of people using a home depot or lowes 5 gallon bucket (with a small hole) to water as well. Just depends on the the type of soil you have and how hot it is. Hope that helped. Good luck with your tree😊
@WendysGardenJourney That really did help, thank you! Since it is so hot and dry, watering is my number one issue. I have native plants too and the rules are different for them. It's confusing when first learning gardening so your info is much appreciated!
Beautiful layout!
Thank you so much!
Looking great 👍
Thanks 👍
