I've come back from Iceland a few days ago, it was raining most of the trip so I didn't dare fly my Mini 4 Pro except on 2 occasions, but towards the end of the trip I saw one person flying his Mini 3 Pro in the rain. I asked him about it and he said it's fine, he did a few flights that day in the rain with no issues. I kinda regret not flying there now as it was so stunning!
I had my Mavic 3 caught in torrential rain, it got soaked, and was absolutely fine - crapped myself in the process, and took a risk I probably shouldn’t have hoping to get the shot between showers lol. After some research I found that the drone itself should be fine (motors being brushless etc), it’s the vents letting rain into the internals that cause major issues. They do wet suits for the popular drones, and they seem pretty good. I think the M30T has an IP rating. Great video by the way, just stumbled across it, always good to meet sensible drone operators :)
Thanks for your comment. I’ve only been caught out a couple of times, maybe I’ve just been lucky. I’m also always pleased to meet another sensible drone operator 👍
Great video Colin I've been caught out once it was beautiful sunshine and out of no where a rain shower and nothing was reported on the weather forecast which I always check thoroughly before flying anywhere. It was the mavic 3 pro and I couldn't land it quick enough hahah it got a few spots on it and was completely fine but it's a major panic moment. 🙂
Do you know if the DJI Mini 3 (not the 3 Pro, just the DJI Mini 3) has a smart home feature or something similar where it will return home if the battery is low? I've read and seen videos suggesting the DJI Mini 3 is good for beginners, and it's on sale here. Also, for the law I have already been working on reading up on drone laws and will continue to do so. I prefer to keep the fun going without breaking any laws. :) Also, I Watched your video Firefly UAV just to confirm if what I read is correct that no DJI drone is waterproof or has high IP rating without cutting back on performance and other stuff according to an admin on the DJI forum. It was an engineer decision not to add high IP rating DJI mini 3. If I am wrong you can correct me.
Thanks for your comment. All recent DJI drones have a return to home feature. This will activate when: - it looses signal from the controller - The battery runs low to a point that it won’t be able to get back home - you press the RTH button It will try and fly to a set height and return in a straight line to its take off position. Personally I never use this feature as I’d rather choose the height and way it returns home. It’s a good fail safe though

The Ukrainain drone pilots do fly in the rain. The war doesn't stop just because it rains.
@@antonkukoba3378 i’m dating this Ukrainian chick who’s husband is at war😂 what a bunch of suckers
i go to iceland every year and my mini 2 lasted 3 trips before the gimbal motor died. no regrets.
Turn off that terrible music please
@@allanbourner4569 music?
I could barely hear a word you said - why have background music for speech??
I could hear fine and really like the ambience the background music creates. Could watch all day.

You are very welcome
Brilliant to know, can't wait for a good storm to come, I'm gonna get some amazing pictures 👌

I’ve been caught out twice in the past month or so, and I’m normally so good at avoiding these things. I guess it has rained a lot recently!
your background music is greater than your voice
That really helped. I am new at flying a drone
I’m glad it helped! Thanks for your comment
You can get an umbrella for drones that fit on the top, but I don't think it would fly all that well 😅
I’ve seen them and wondered how far the wind would take them once power runs out on the drone 🤣🤣
Hang glider drones lol
why the shitty music it hard to hear what your saying

I have the Mini 3 (non pro) and yes it has return to home.
