People had swarmed around newly arrived aid trucks in western Gaza City in the hope of getting food, when Israeli forces started shooting, according to witnesses. Many of the victims died when they were run over by trucks in the ensuing panic, according to one account."

I just watched a Fox News interview with Lt. Colonel Herder of the IDF. The host asked him if the IDF opened fire on the Palestinians seeking aid. The LT Colonel first said no, then he said they let off a few warning shots, then he finally said they opened fire to let off warning shots. They can never keep their story straight.
The tanks were there to secure the supply trucks. They were attacked by the mob and because Hamas is known to attached explosive devices to IDF tanks and armored vehicles, they had to eventually fire at the mob in order to keep themselves safe.
