Scott Symonds, I for one did enjoy the rebuild of the trailer, learned a few things for when its time to rebuild my smaller 5’ X 10’ trailer, not to mention the skills Vehcor has to show as usual...something’s you just don’t see everyday. P.S. how do you know he “lost” a ton of viewers? 50,000+ views out of 79,000 subscribers is still high.....
You're a true mechanic. Straight to the point repairs with attention to detail. Not the HEY GUYS ITS ( insert youtube name) AND WE'RE REBUILDING A 2019 LAMBORGINI THAT WE BOUGHT FOR $4 AND WAS SITTING IN THE OCEAN FOR 15 YEARS.
I never have to worry about the people that actually know how to weld, it is always the RUclips trained pros that have only watched people weld that have a problem with my welds. lol It is fun to rile them up and make them work harder for their next stupid comment!
@floatpool LMAO Your training is not complete until you undermine the welds of no less than 10 other people on RUclips in the comments regardless of weld quality!
I haven't been welding that long but i agree. Welds are fine. Probably won't pass an xray but don't need to. but what do I know? Ive never had my welds xrayed, lol.
Get it out and start welding. You too can critique everyone else's welds! lol You already have more experience by touching the box than some of the "experts".
You might see the G8 again in its own video from that day. I just wanted some footage to throw in like I did but my friend had other ideas and didn't let me know until half way through the day. lol
It's surprising how many "Professionals" offer their opinions on here but the true Pro' do offer sound advice. Keep up the good work mate including the Trailers 👍
Good afternoon Scott, trailer repair 101. Man you got alot done in short order. That is a man sized pipe wrench, who new it would do double duty as sheet metal tools. Thanks and take care. Have a great Labor Day weekend.
Trailers are always fun to work on. It is an excuse to fabricate things. lol I don't remember where I got that pipe wrench and I don't use it that often but it does come in handy when I find a use. Hope you had a good Labor Day weekend!
Hey, Vehcor. First time visitor here. Thoroughly enjoyed the rebuild. Great content, appropriate, helpful and funny narration. Perhaps best of all: no annoying music! Thanks for sharing. I have subscribed.
Welds look good. If they don't to you, you can always do what i do. Use a grinder to make them look good. I need to get one of those luxurious Denali frame racks.Makes a great edition to any shop. Doesn't look like it'd be hard to "out do" the factory with quality runny paint job on that left hub. :-) Must have been painted on a Friday. I'm glad I live in a state where titles or license plates aren't required on open trailers. Less to pay for and worry about.Excellent job on the dump trailer! Looking forward to seeing what the keys go to!
I highly recommend the Denali frame rack. Hard to maneuver in tight spaces but very versatile. Lol A little extra paint doesn't hurt, it makes up for the other areas that are rusting, right?
Speaking from the perspective of an ex-pro welder who spent 15 years in the job, your welds look absolutely fine with no blemishes. Good job on the trailer mate, looks better than new 👍. Looking forward to the next project 👍.
Pro welder means nothing without your RUclips welding video watching certification. lol The pros and people familiar with welding never have a problem with my welds. Thanks for the support!
I just put it back where it belongs. It is a shame that that plate is bent though, I am sure the police would have liked to ask me why I was using an expired out of state plate not registered to me while I waited for the paperwork on the trailer. lol
All those welds are wrong! How do I know? Not because I ever used a welder before, but because I've watch all the welding videos on youtube!🤣 Oh, and that trailer will never track right either. Why? Because you put the old tires on the new axle and the new tires on the old axle. 😂 Nice rebuild! Hope you put up what you have into this project at the end. 14K dump trailers go for around $7500.00 where I live. Wish I had gone this route before I bought mine years ago! A great pothead once said, "Relax! My old man is a television repairman. He has this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it"! (Jeff Spicoli)
Maybe it will track properly with the tire arrangement after my bad welds break. Two wrongs will make it right! lol These things are pricey and used ones sell for as much as new (which I will never understand). I bid on a lot of them to find the deal on this one. I was just about to go buy a new one when I finally got a deal. I have less than 1/2 the cost of a new one of these in it. Thanks for watching.
Those welds look great to me. I am a SUPER ROOKIE welder and I admit it. You are an inspiration to me because I am a amateur builder but I have rebuilt about 30 - 40 cars, trucks, and SUVs.
Thanks, 30-40 isn't an amateur. You have done more than a lot of the channels that think they are "experts" after 10 builds. lol Keep on building, I just passed 1000 rebuilds last year.
Great work as usual! Nice to see the A Team rode in to the rescue of sorts. As always never a dull moment! Keep up the great work. I agree with the other contributor, you should have waaaay more subscribers!
Thanks, the subs are coming, it just takes time. I have really only been doing series style videos for a year now and weekly uploads for 6 months. 1 year ago next week I had just passed 10k subs so adding them, my channel is 8 times the size it was a year ago. I cannot complain. Yeah I can. it is a lot of work to keep up with 80k subs and weekly uploads. lol Thanks for your support!
Scot okay you deserve a compliment for making my day I have watched vehcor for a long time and I really enjoy it. there are two compelling reasons. 1)You remind me of a former Iowa neighbor who is my son's age, and 2)what you do reminds me of what my dad did in the 50's and 60's in Harvey IL when I was growing up. Love what you do !! That dry humor keeps me coming back for more.
The 'Semi Trailer' red & white reflector tape is a HUGE benefit to other motorists following behind a dark or black trailer at night & especially on rain soaked roads at night.
Really enjoyed this rebuild,it might only be a trailer but all 3 parts were serious how to do it action with great humour, thanks,oh ...over here in the uk we use the FT method of tightening the u bolts......................missing slim by the way
Thank god you changed out that tail light I was nearly sick every time I seen it only cans of beer got me through, the new ones are great and you can step on them to check how big the pile is getting , cheers 🍻👍
I know how you feel about the lights. Where do you think the empty beer bottles and cans in the trailer came from in the first video? lol Thanks for watching.
20:23 You finally have a Ford in the shop! It's about time! Just kidding. I've really enjoyed this series, and this channel in general. I'm always looking forward to your videos.
Does anyone else feel like a baby bird in a nest waiting for the next video to drop into our beak? Good stuff! And, btw... this is the first time I've ever commented on any youtube video.
You need to watch some RUclips videos. That will make you an expert so you can bash everyone that has ever actually welded. lol Extra points if you use terms you feel are complex or relevant out of context.
Hi Scott, Great set of videos. I bought a wrecked Car Hauler that has similar damage and you make it seem pretty straight forward. Can't thank you enough for the help you give. I'm about done with my Sierra that went for a trip in some swampland in North Carolina. It was a little worse than I thought but its coming together... Oh, your welds are better than mine and the Scotty weight test worked so it;s all good.
Way better looking welds than I could hope to accomplish, the rear slipper hanger measurement is not too critical, center e.q locates rear springs, long as both front n center hangers are same measurement, should be OK, but doesn't hurt to make sure trailer doesn't dog track.
Watched all 3 parts before commenting. Really enjoy your sense of humor as it's much like mine. One broke a rod on a 60 yr old hydro ram and just said "Ut Oh". So if your welds are worth twice as much with the Snap-On welder then what are my hand me down Mac unit welds worth? LOL Very much enjoyed the videos.
People with a similar sense of humor always appreciate mine a little more. Ugh, a hand me down Mac unit?!?!?!?! You are better off with bubblegum and duct tape. lol I have seen guys get amazing welds out of cheap china welders, it is all in the skill of the guy using it.... mostly. Thanks for watching.
Nice job. 2 things I've done differently, 1 I mount the license plate above the lights so it doesn't get damaged. 2 when I do a lighting upgrade I, I always install Back-Up lights since i do a lot of night towing/work. It's a little more work but I feel it's worth it. I always wonder why all trailers don't come from the factory that way. Other wise EXCELLENT JOB. Not bad for 3 weeks.
The plate on top of the lights would have stuck out past the fender and you can be sure I would walk into it. lol It would also be too high and would not allow the door to open all the way and it has to open all the way to reach the lock bar. I do have back-up lights on my car trailer that gets used at night a lot, well worth the effort. This one however will only be used during the day. The scrap yard is not open at night and only 1000 feet from my storage yard.
Lul, you should put a trailer logo on the side of it that says "In the Pile" along with one of your tape smiley's lol... They have become part of your channel now lol.
I think you might be right. It will be an excuse to remove the TP sticker! I probably won't have any more videos of the trailer but I'll post stuff on IG of it in the future.

Adhesive lined heat shrink will seal around the wires. Nice in places that are going to see water. Also helps keep connections from pulling apart. Oh yeah...about your welds. I used to be a weldor...your welds are fine.
Most master mechanics make the job look easy, which leads to boredom. With your unorthodox approach and generous use of plan A, plan B, plan C, etc., there is a lot more tension, excitement, and unpredictable results - which simply means more fun. And the leggy dames are a spectacular contrast to your aging bald look... very clever! I am now a permanent subscriber, and hope to make the comment section liven up a bit. BTW - tell the idiot who doesn't like trailer vids that you have added 5,000 new subscribers in the last 30 days... 🤣👍
I love those new lights. I put a set of those on every trailer I buy/build. They do take a fair amount of abuse. I will say that the aluminum version (more pricey) are not as strong... guess I should put steps on instead of using the lights. ;)
Using those same tail light inserts on a project, they seemed loose enough to fall out bouncing while empty, tempted to use some silicone for cheap insurance. Nice tutorial.
I had them on my old car trailer as well. That thing bounced all over the place when empty and I never lost or came close to losing a light. I agree, they do seem like they will fall out and a little extra insurance never hurts. Thanks for watching!
Yea for the second shift. Well it will be better than new you do such good work I wondered why people allways said something about you smoking In all the years I have watched you I have never saw you smoke
Better than new if you like the "used" look. lol I wasn't worth the time to paint it to me. In one of the Yuckon videos there was a pack of cigarettes on the toolbox I was working on and people just started jumping to conclusions.
I see you have already bent your license plate over. Should have mounted it on top of thw light box. I put mine on the tailgate. Works fine there and no more damage. Good videos!!
11:50 A key point not addressed is, Don't fully tighten the spring eye nuts. Tightening them fully will bind the eye and prevent it from rotating. In severe instances, the spring will eventually break at the eye because the flex point is at the eye rather the bolt. The splines keep the bolt from moving around and wearing the bracket hole, the lock nuts keep the nut from falling off.
Some people piss themselves if they see someone grind their weld. I grind my welds all the time. 45 years now and haven't had a single job come back for the reason of grinding. So the wanna-be welders know where to go. Don't sweat over those who sit on the fence and crow. For a trailer repair, this was as good as it gets.
I just like to finish them. Sometime the job calls for it to look like there is only one piece as well. I like to harass the "experts" and make them work for their next complaint. lol Those darn steel toed boots come out of nowhere and attack plates. lol
um you do realize you have lost a ton of viewers! noone gives a fuck about a trailer!
Nope, didn't realize. Thanks, I better buy a Lamborghini to get everyone back!

Thanks, maybe in the future...... with a roller. Tricoat roller application, that sounds like a fun video. lol
Nice work!
Thanks
Great video editing and an enjoyable series. Really appreciate the work it takes this content. Keep it up!
Thank you, will do!
Well, it's good knowing that if you ever need to pull the trailer and Dirtnali out of a ditch you can use the license plate bracket.
I can just pull another trailer with the license plate bracket. lol
Excellent video as usual 💯, Next build 🤔🤔
Thanks, I have an old one then onto the new project.
Hahaha!! You keep your nuts in a plastic bottle??? Wow!! My wife always kept mine in her purse!!
She lets me have the bottle for the videos. lol
My wife used to let me have her purse, usually while shopping at the mall!
Or on the mantle next to the roasting chestnuts
Yea for the second shift. Well it will be better than new you do such good work I wondered why people allways said something about you smoking In all the years I have watched you I have never saw you smoke
Better than new if you like the "used" look. lol I wasn't worth the time to paint it to me. In one of the Yuckon videos there was a pack of cigarettes on the toolbox I was working on and people just started jumping to conclusions.
I see you have already bent your license plate over. Should have mounted it on top of thw light box. I put mine on the tailgate. Works fine there and no more damage. Good videos!!
14:00 I love the paint job on that new axle
Come on man it was the kid's first day at the axle factory. 😂 go easy on him!
vehcor 😂
NICE JOB Cross Fit! :)
She says thanks!
Been following you for sometime... your sense of humour is the best part of your channel! You rock! Looking forward to each video! Good Luck man!
Some people like my humor, some don't (their loss lol). Thanks for the support!
I really enjoyed this trailer rebuild
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Great video no matter what I still think harbor freight tools are great
Thanks. Use what works for you!
I see your license plate is set up for photo radar. lol.
I just like to finish them. Sometime the job calls for it to look like there is only one piece as well. I like to harass the "experts" and make them work for their next complaint. lol Those darn steel toed boots come out of nowhere and attack plates. lol
Bravo to the afternoon shift, l hate to mess with her after her gym marathon!!!
After the gym marathon is your best chance to mess with her. She will be tired and maybe a little weaker. Any other time, she is pretty lethal!
AWESOME job.
Thanks
Nice build!
Thanks!
Great as always - looking forward to the next one!
Thank you!
