I’d been suffering from 3 herniated discs in the past 6 months after 20 years of full contact martial arts. These Kali stick exercises have been the core of my exercise regimen since being partially disabled. Now that I’ve had my epidural injections I’m getting more flexibility back in my hips and lower back area... looking forward to practicing the techniques in all the other videos.
    Cheers

Just like how Bruce Lee explained it to Guru Dan Inosanto on the original footage of Game Of Death when both Bruce and Dan started to fight with sticks before fighting with the nunchucks. #ThankYouBruceLee #ThankYouDanInosanto #ThankYouGuruDanInosanto #Kali #KaliCenter #ThankYouPaul

Good focus. If the point of the art is to protect/preserve life, there should def be a healing/maintenance component.

An excellent stick to work on your flexibility and strength is the Cold Steel escrima sticks. They weight more than much more than kamagong and are virtually indestructible, a hard workout session with these test my grip and shoulders. The wood cocobolo is close to the weight of these.

My coach used to say "Grip to high on the stick it'll be easier to disarm you". So we usually grip above our thumb length. Someone practice the same?
