In this video, I’ll review the Tilta Nucleus Nano II wireless follow focus system after using it on a few shoots. The Tilta Nano II has been on the market for a while now, but it is still considered to be one of the best budget wireless follow focus systems
So if you’re looking for an affordable wireless follow focus, the Tilta Nucleus Nano II might be a very interesting option. It’s not 100% perfect but for a follow focus system on a budget, it definitely packs a punch! And this clever device could change your filmmaking!

You can get a small Arri anti twist adapter to mount the battery plate to your cage

Yea I used a 1/4" adapter screw and that also works, but would have been nice without the need of a workaround!

Nucleus nano II in short ( iv been using it since it came out so these are all my experiences ) - Very good , not for high end professional work , but it works for small-mid production. One borke on me ( on the inside ) , it was a hassle to deal with their customer service , they didnt want to pay for the shipping and the shipping is almost more to china and back was almost as much as the product itself . The battery it OK- again , not great but it has PD fast charge. Its annoying that u can use the nucleus M motors with the nano motor , its either all nano motors or all M. its annoying that its usb C insted of something more secure like LEMO , again , its appealing for small crews who are not familiar with more " professional ports". The motors are sometimes finicky but 80% they work great , have enough torque.
    WITH THAT SAID.
if you were to power it from the TILTA focusing side handle ( NOT the control handle that u have shown in the video ) that is advertised that you can use with it , it cannot pull focus on the nano II motors at all , only if u were to use the nucleus M motors w the nano , and the built in battery in the handle cannot supply enough power to the motors as well. This is not a problem because the torque will be lower , this a problem because it cannot reach infinity . the software does not calculate in that it does not get enough power and it stops before infinity no matter how you calibrate it .
Also. WORST NATO CLAMP EVER CREATED , it does not grab on properly , out of 10 times it slips off , never had any nato accessory that was not secure , and also , its not attached to the nato rail , its just clamped on which stops the nato rail's brass pin from catching it before it would fall down.
All and all , great , easy to use system w a lot of issues and gimmicks , but for the price it is really appealing if these issues dont bother you or know them in advance.
if u have a bit more money tho... the DJI system is far better, more advanced , with a lots of useful features and less gimmicks and issues.

I can't add lenses and save them in the menu on the wheel. Have any of you had success doing that?
