man I have been wanting to try this system out. I also hope they jump into the lidar focus systems some time soon, it was great to meet and hang out at NAB!!

Great meeting you too! You should definitely check out the nano II. It definitely would be cool to see them jump into the lidar focus game too!

While many rave about DJI's new system, I'm keen to get this. As someone with a disability that requires me to be left-handed, this is a dogsend -- whether or not it was purposefully designed for ambidextrous use.
As a Nano I owner, I'm also glad Tilta followed up from the original -- and at an accessible price point.
Hopefully the screen lock bit can be in a firmware update if the company is a) still supporting the product; and, b) doing good media scans.

I think both systems have their place, and it’s awesome all of it exists!

I love my nano II. I have both Rs3pro and the new RS4 pro with the wireless focus attachment. I still prefer using the Nano II over dji's attachment. It just works so well. Thank you for sharing!

Let me be more specific, I prefer to use the nano ii while using those gimables even though I can control focus with the gimbal stick. Mostly because I like to put my gimbals in rings and pull focus using the nano controller.

    • @TylerEdwards

Ya I typically prefer to use the nano II on gimbal so that if it’s sending a wireless feed to an AC they can rock with that

Thank you for sharing your experience. Question - is there any slight "play" or "unresponsiveness" for fraction of milliseconds the moment you turn the wheel? (I'm not sure if i made myself clear)

for me thePD-Movi was always faster and simple plus always made non-cinema lenses have a 270° after calibrating

I have that system as well, but much prefer Tilta. Everyone has their own preference though!

How's the latency compared to the original Nano? And does it also have any problems with connection when the hand wheel is mounted in certain positions like the original Nano? (If I remember correctly it only worked when it was behind the motor, not in front).

    • @TylerEdwards
      @TylerEdwards 3 месяца назад +1

It doesn’t have that issue and it’s amazing. It was so frustrating with the original nano. Latency seems better too but I haven’t tested side by side

interesting. I know its a prosumer product - but still - should be fitted with standard connectors like lemo or fischer instead of that flimsy usb-c crap. My biggest complain about the cheap ff systems.

Just wanted to tell you that my nano died after 2 months, the travel lock on it died and when i tried to calibrate it it was always telling me to switch the travel lock first, since I couldnt because it didnt work at all , i couldnt calibrate lenses on it. Told support and they sent me a video on how to fix it , like what kind of company does that. Iv told them that im not willing to take apart my nucleus, they told me that i could ship it to china but since i didnt buy it from them directly they wont cover VAT and shipping. Which was 200+ euro. After that iv contacted the shop where i bought it and they exchanged it for a new unit.. this was a much worse procedure than it should have been.
Edit : the video was not something like " reinstall an update" or something like that , it was a video about fully taking the nucleus apart and adding back a part that probably came loose inside , it was a plastic cube , missing from its original place. ( at least in the video , I never tried to take it apart )

That’s actually really cool they showed you how to fix it. That’s always my preference so I don’t have to send it off haha. Totally get not everyone wants to do that. I’ve not had any issues with mine though

@@TylerEdwards well if you have issues with it down the road I can send u the video, I mean its kinda cool but in the EU this will void your warranty, Not sure that if they say that you can do it yourself and if you screw it up , what happens but in most cases these kill your warranty. Thats why i was not keen on the idea , i never done something like this before and didnt want to try my luck w not specific tools and experience.
