- Modification of Linea Mini to enable pre-infusion at an internally settable pressure, using a jetted bypass valve on the pump outlet and adding a first stage switch to the paddle action. There is also a spring loaded chamber on the group to further soften the pressure ramp. The action of the paddle is now identical to the MP group, but with selectable 'line' pressure. It combines the design principles of Slayer, KvdW Speedster with the classic mechanical feel and function of Marzocco MP group.
Hello , we are using linea mp 1g . This machine supposed to have a pre infusion mechanism but what happened to our machine is - when you accelerate the paddle to half it flows water but in 8-10 sec it stopped. Looks like we have a problem with the pre infusion stage . Do you have any recommendations to us ? To at least fix it?
If you switch the paddle all the way over, will it still operate normally with the short pulse "pre-infusion" and pulling of the shot?
Also, will this function the same regardless of using the water reservoir or plumbing the machine in? I've never plumbed a machine before, so apologies if that's a silly question :)
Basically yes - the bypass preinfusion will still be on for a fraction of a second, and the spring preinfusion cylinder will still function, but you can choose to go straight to full pressure.
It works fine plumbed in, but the pump pressure and the setting of the bypass needle valve would both need to be adjusted to compensate for the extra mains pressure. The static mains pressure plus about half a bar will be the minimum pressure that can be set for bypass mode.

There is an extra solenoid installed on the pump outlet, which has a variable flow needle valve. This solenoid is controlled by an extra microswitch installed in the group. The first stage of paddle motion enables the solenoid, which reduces the output of the pump to a selected pressure. When the paddle motion is on full, the solenoid is disabled and pump pressure is maximum. Same principle as flow profiling with Slayer

+Rick Bond Just a reaally really curious question. Can the series of switches be imitated on a multi-button machine, i.e. 4 buttons set for volumetric dosing?
Sure, you could use a delay timer relay to disable the bypass mode after a pre set number of seconds on a volumetric machine.
