Lights bring in bait fish which in turn brings in fish... fish don't love the light but they love bait fish and just like mosquitoes shad and minnows run to the floating lights... I've caught countless fish with styrofoam floating light and KC lights in the end of boats/docks pointing down in water. Middle of summer I've caught crappie with lighten
You need to get yourself some of them floor mats that look like puzzle pieces for the floor to keep the ice from melting and it will keep you warmer.
Fish love the lights, it attracts microscopic things in the water that the bait eats on. Fishing lit docks at night is the jam!
You need to get some foam mats for the floor if your gonna camp make one hell of a difference

Fillet tip. Leave the 1st cut attached with a little skin at the tail. Flip the fillet and slice the meat off the skin. Helps hold it so you don’t have to use tips of your fingers to keep it in place.

Great tip: Keep a handful of "Strike Anywhere Matches" in your tacklebox. Put one in the oil and it will ignite at 350deg. No more smoked oil.

You so need to get something on that floor, especially staying over night, I've just started ice fishing and first time in a tent. I took a couple floor rugs from my garage, rubber on the bottom and rug on top worked fantastic keep the ice from melting, your feet dry and probably warmer in the tent

Damn, the lakes over here are taking f o r e v e r to freeze up. Those crappie had to be amazing, they always taste better through the ice and unless you eat them live you can't get them any fresher than that.

In Michigan we use underwater lights to attract fish. It attracts zoo plankton which brings in bait fish.
Hell ya we do to up here in delta county. Minnows plankton and then the jumbos roll in..

Bro! If you don’t cut the head off you can pinch the fish in the eyes with your thumb and index finger. Fillet from back side first cut through everything and just rinse the meat off. Try it just once... Any who thanks for sharing.

If anything, lights would attract fish. They are curious eating machines. Bounce something on the bottom to make dust clouds. That also attracts fish. Saw it all the time scuba diving. Lights from a fish house at night, look like an alien space craft from underneath the ice. And ya can't tell them apart. Diving once, I found a dead northern and decided to hook it on a buddies line to be funny. He was close by in his house. Well, I got the wrong house! The dude wasn't happy about it. Thank God, by the time I walked over to apologize, He thought it was funny too.
