Ayoo, just for anyone who may be doing this. Please dont struggle trying to shave off the housing. Its gonna piss you off, you’re gonna break wire, probably cut yourself once or twice, its just unnecessary. Just score the housing. take a blade sideways to the housing, push down firmly till it pushes into the housing, and slowly spin the blade 360 around the housing. It should make a slit where you can either just see the wire or atleast thin enough to pull off the rest, but for even easier removal score the little piece of housing you’re trying to remove, long ways, just so you can peel the housing off easily. (A video May describe this better but still trust me) Anyways, wish you all good luck on your future projects and may the car gods be with you all !
Need to wrap some rubber tape and electrical tape around that huge splicing lug bc if it touches anything grounded, it's gonna short the battery.
Thats exactly what we did. In the full length video it says to do that in the end
Awesome tip, i really appreciate it and what you're doing. God bless you for your service 🙏🏽
Happy Veterans Day!
Thank you boss means a lot
We fix these assembled in this manner. Please. At least solidify the cable wire with solder before running that punny set screw into it. Then heat shrink and seal it.
Sometimes you have to fo wing it
Hier wird gezeigt, wie es nicht gemacht wird!
Don't cut towards your skin
Your Miss wire Flux your going to end up making stuff worse
What if it has an inside fuse
Prolly would just not use it and get a whole new cable
@@semperfimechanic
Meant inline fuse.
Thanks thats what I thought.
It’s advance auto. not advanced
Affirmative
Lol... good catch boss, no one would have ever known where to purchase this kit without your attention to detail.
I've been driving around to every advanced auto in the tri state area, and they are fresh out.
Ferrule please
Really promoting tool safety there ….not please if you want to post things like this use the correct tool 🔨 even on your run down. Country wire strippers can’t cost the earth
Not everyone has wire strippers this is to show anyone can fix it and get moving
Replace the cable
Yes replacing the cable is always the best option
Semper fi. Sgt Abubakar from 23rd Marines, 4th Marine Regiment. Rah!
Place the wire FULLY into the connected so that no copper is showing.
Or use an Anderson connector
Don't use this garbage ,replace the old cable with the correct connections. And save your self the headache down the road.
Yes that would be ideal
Sometimes you just need to use a permanent "temporary" fix... For the next owner to fix... 😂
Use some dielectric grease or Vaseline to coat the wire before connecting it. In a short time it will corrode and lose connection.
Not always true
Shouldn’t ever need to extend the cables!!🧐Hill Billy hack right there….
Well im from the country so if the shoe fits
My 1967 Wolseley has an original cable rhat was just fine for the original battery, and the battery that had been sitting in it from 1993, but its just half an inch too short for the new battery, so no, not a hillbilly hack, just practical.
Sometimes you have no choice, asshole. What if you get stranded and you don’t have $300-$500 bucks to pay for the new cable and labor. This Mickey Mouse hack will get you by
installation.....? am I the only one lol I've never had to cut back installation
Shhhhhhhhhh
Personally I would have “tinned” the wire that was going into that extender.
Some of yall need to learn about solder pellets and shribk tube. This is just a bandaid for a broken arm and it's f-n lazy as hell!
Well thank you for all the compliments my friend
I used these on my sons car and it’s absolutely fine. I taped around the connections and it’s going to outlast his car.
Yep people act crazy man and over think shit
Best connection solder and shrink tube it
Crimps are better than solder in high-vibration environments. Joint should have strain relief either way, of course.
You got it!
How can I fix cable it was disconnected at the end goes to sensor
Tried that- same exact one . Garbage
That's some ugly ass work
Buy a new correct lenth cable
Or that lol
Some people just need a quick easy fix. And some cables can't be replaced easily.
You tube..... Helps you get it wrong
Whatcha ya talking about willis
Bro your a butcher
And why are you not covering up that metal connector that you put the wire in because it could spark off of a ground
You are watching a youtube short if you watch the full lenth video you will hear me tell you what to do
Wire furreals are a thing ya know
wait there's 2 positive cables?
Sounds like the truck has some problems. It will take some work but in the end you'll have a solid truck. You can always sell it and find a better one.
Yea brother thats my only option man

You should have put grease on that wire before placing it in the connector, you should have put lock Tite on the Allen Screw to prevent a loose connection in the future!!
Good advice
Sorry Bro, I have been a Diesel Engine Mechanic for 30 years! I notice the little details!
I bet you hide in the closet while your wife has the neighbor over.
Attention to detail is very important
Good job, you followed the directions
Yes like most things I do
taking advice from a fellow that calls a alan key a special tool they send with it...
I use a different method for doing this and it works pretty well
More then 1 way to skin a cat
@@semperfimechanic definitely
Does the extender work on a negative cable as well? I have to extend both cables roughly 5 inches.
That will leave you sitting one day soon.
Prolly
Get the installation off?😂
Damn u your the second person our of 20,000 to notice
That damn installation gets us all sooner or later. 😉
Shouldent you use a wire ferrule?
If possible. This right here is to get you out of the situation your immediately in
Wow that's awesome! Things exist for every little thing man I swear lol
Burn wire with lighter and peel the rubber off
Man you guys are critical. He’s a mobile mechanic from the south. Let him be. If it breaks he will come fix it for ya 😂
The north
A little solder on those wires first
Nope. Solder will cause a poor connection between solid metal and stranded wire or crack under the pressure. It shouldn’t be used as a mechanical connection and the solid metal has a harder time biting into a solder joint than soft copper.
space age stuff
Space Marines
Rah devil saved me some money
Happy Veterans Day Thomas, Thank You For Your Service so we all can enjoy our Freedom. James from NJ
Thank ya brother for Always showing me support man I will not forget it
This is not a suitable repair buy a new cable
Yes buying a new cable is always the best option
If the battery cable somehow is too short maybe just maybe you bought the wrong battery they come in different sizes chances are this person wanted more " Cold Cranking Amps ".
If you need this instructional video then you need to have someone else do it for you.
Lol everyone talking about grease the wire and tape it but are we really gunna look past the fact he’s stripping the “installation” with a pocket knife 😂
