The 2nd ed minis just had so much character even if they are derpy compared to the newer models. I sold all my my 1st and 2nd ed stuff years ago so I have been slowly adding some as I find them for cheap. I just finished Kill Team Strike Force Justinian using old beakies. These were all on 25mm bases so I just glued them to the new base sizes and covered them with Armageddon Dust so they all look like they are on hills. :)

I love how back in the day they were basically orks in power armour. Brings back memories, I loved those old bold coloured boxes.
But better 2+ instead of a 3+ armour save and a 4+ ward save.
Excellent work. Old orks look cool. Finally finishing an ork jet I started 2 years ago, myself.

Who doesn't like a bit of pink lipstick on their Nob!
In the words of my wife "Those are some nice looking Nobz!!".😉Back in the day though, long long ago now so it seems; I remember no matter how much paint i used, i always seemed to be running low on Tentacle Pink! Even though i very rarely used it, as i only used it when painting Tzeentch pink horrors & Tzeentch flamers gill skirts and those are model types, i only ever paint a mere hand full of times! Yet i used Goblin green constantly and never ever ran out! I often wondered what kind dark magic is this? 🤔But then i would play "Black Magic Women by Santana" and just get back to painting what my minds eye could only see!😬I spent many hours of my life contemplating Tentacle Pink and the lack there of, sitting alone in the dark! While "Old and Wise by The Alan Parsons Project" played on repeat; I discovered many of life's greatest mysteries & secrets, from these citadel miniature paint meditations. Remember brother Matthew! Life is just a game🙂

I'd forgotten these sculpts. Wazdakka Gutzmek had mega armour on foot but +1Av on his bike to account for the extra armour (they clarified in WD not sure which issue. So I think that is how GW would interpret the MAnobz on bikes.
Proper 'ard-lookin' meganobz! Your fast styles for yellow, and the blue tinting of the black-based techy bits, really favoured the sculpt - and I share your dislike for creating banners, but the end result really was worth it.

The blue on your Nob looks good. You have a very interesting Nob in general.😅 But use caution when gluing your Nob.😂 I'm not too keen on Nob salad.
The glue on the nob was definitely the trickiest part 😉 😜

If you want some whacky Ork Hijinkz, you should try to get a copy of Freebooterz from the Rogue Trader era. Lots of nifty stuff in there.

There is an FAQ in a white dwarf (not sure number) that forbids mega armour on bikes or boars and cyboars. With the exception of Wazdakka.
It was 204 apparently- so another person told me today

That 2nd ed Nob statline is tragic. Strength 3, 1 Wound and 1 Attack? 'OW CAN DEY PROPERLY KRUMP GITZ WHEN DEY'ZE DAT WEEDY!?
You are right but most stats in the games were worse at the time. Terminators were marginally better.
@@Miniscape-wh40k I suppose Strength wasn't a big deal, iirc most melee weapons had their own Strength values. And number of Wounds is irrelevant when most weapons had crazy Damage values. Ironic considering how recent editions have been...
I was getting worried when you seemed to consider not doing a banner!! I always make paper banners and transfers for my oldhammer minis. These look the part and no I don't lose sleep over the names or is it namez??, but I have noticed it myself 😂 👍

These heavily armored Orks in bright, glorious yellow make me think: with the right bits, could one convert Nobz from Age of Sigmar Ironjaws models?

You would have thought someone would converted or proxied one as a Kork a bright spot in otherwise groan inducing "nu-lore" (it's fluff!).

It always surprises me that they’re only Strength 3. You’d think with that fancy armour they could have put that up to 4? I guess their weapons do the boosting so their basic stats don’t have to?

I think it is faq'd somewhere that if you wear mega armour you cant be on a bike or boar, might be in battle bible or the faq in the 2nd ed fb files section.

I promise I will find your email. I will send the legion of the damned squad (from 1994 I think) there are 9 including the sgt,-- and some extra pauldrons & hvy weapon. They are white metal and on small round ‘slotta’ bases.
