I've been printing with large nozzles for years and it never occurred to me to change the support settings! Thank you for sharing that tip!
I’m going to sit back and watch as your channel blows up! You have the right story telling flow and changed the shots often enough to keep the interest.
Great work!
Hey fellow IG-11 parent!!! You did it so much faster than me!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic !
Can't wait to see you preping and painting it :)
Wow you are amazing, well done a must too watch. Thank you.
Absolutely brilliant, can’t wait for the next instalment
Woah love this print!
Fantastic work! 10 days...I really need to step up my game and finish my Iron Man suit already.
Oooo that sounds like an incredible project!
Subscribed!!
This is my first video of yours. And it brings back memories of being killed by IG 88 in the original Star Wars RPG.
I like the format that you have for your video. Showing all the different machines and build process. Thanks for posting
You deserve more subs ! High quality video and audio and editing and top notch content. Keep at it.
DANG. Can't wait to see this thing painted!
Such a fantastic vid! it was great to watch and ill look forward to the next one of yours!! take care and have a great day
Such a cool build Michaela, 10 Days!
I can't wait to see the finishing vids :)
I'm kind of liking your droid shish kabob in it's raw colors haha
But I'm more excited to see the how you paint it next!
So amazing! I can't wait to see the final result.
I don't believe how incredible you are I could watch all day wait I do watch all 😂 thank you ❤ 😊
love it! Im working on a Tactical droid from the clone wars rn, love the fact that a lot of droids are now coming to reality
The support trick is a game changer 👍
Hey M & M I recently picked up that callus remover for sanding my prints and I have to say that this little dynamo is an absolute game changer no more dust flying all over the room and the torque is unbelievable you can’t bogg this thing down at all.
Thank you so much for this awesome suggestion probably the best tool in my workshop now.
You absolutely rock.
I’m so glad you’re finding it useful as well!
Cool Printing life size 👍. Enthusiasm and lots of patience is what I see. Very well presented and thanks for sharing 💕
Epic cool project! Both FDM and Resin prints on the same project too! PETG Prints look amazing, nice work! Awesome tip on printing the support, will use that every time I print.
I find myself more often than not having both FDM and SLA pieces on the same project. It’s just so handy to be able to print the finer details and more complicated pieces in resin (and not have to worry about post processing as much, haha!)
Great video, and great advice...You're a world-class artist.
Amazing I would do a life size sculpture but I don't have the space for it so I stick to 18 inches. And I would have to cut it up because my peopoly phenom isnt as big as a fdm printer. Keep up the good work. happy creating............
Just found your channel, well RUclips found it and wow, great video making skills. Even better model making skills. Full size anything is more of a distant dream of mine. I'm over the moon with 1/6th resin statues for the time being. But wow, that's going to be amazing all painted up. Anyway can't wait to see more of your older videos and newer ones.
This is such an awesome project :D
I've had my IG-11 from Droid Division done for a long while... since the day he released it. Now I'm redoing the head to the animated version.
Omg - awesome! So glad that you shared this and glad to meet another creative Canadian mind.
This is my first watch of your channel.
I’m hooked.
Thank you.
Daaamn giiiiirl!! This thing turned out awesome!!!
Love it! Envious you could build it and have room for it!
I need an armour tree to display a suit of steel armour, this has given me some ideas. Due to weight issues, I will have to use steel box tube but the modularity idea, I am stealing that!
I stumbled upon your channel and I like it when I lean something new ( changing the line width on the supports.
That’s deserves a subscription. Thanks. I’ll be checking out the rest of your videos today
Wonderful work.
great video!! hope to see more of your videos
Omg, your glasses are awesome.
i always print my petg with the cooling fans but a little hotter to prevent that delaminating. i like to use sunlu at 240 degrees nozzle and 80 degrees bed. instead of primmer filler i use a paint brush to apply printer resin to my parts and sand
I can't believe you don't have a million subscribers
amazing work so far, can't wait to see the finished product especially the electronic implementation! This is the way.
I don't have that many printers but this is so cool it makes me so happy to just have one, that can make all of this... just not in 10 days... would probably take a month🤣
But yeah REALLY AWESOME WORK! Thank You for sharing♥️
Love it. I'm starting to explore life size printing so this video has been inspiring. Keep up the great work!
Warning: it’s very addicting 😂
I love your videos! This is so awesome
Now time to build IG-12 with your Grogu driving lol
Motorized head motions would be so cool!
Huzzah! Now that's a Droid!
Ok now you need to make IG-12 with Grogu in it :D
Which is the best 3d printer you would recommend to use when making props for cosplays and armor etc? Also love the video!
I’m a big fan of Ender 3’s. They’re the first printers that I use when printing anything and I only use my larger ones if the piece is too large to fit. There are a ton of different models though so I can be a little confusing. The V2s are great but there is a V2 Neo that has some great added features that I personally feel is well worth the slight price jump. I’d only go for a 300x300mm printer if you’re really going to be constantly printing massive single pieces. Most large models are split into pieces that will fit on an Ender 3 size bed though (235x235mm).
@@MMsPropShopThank you so much for the info. I'm very interested in getting my first printer and had no idea where to start. This has been a great help.
Stunning Build ! keep up the great content ! Happy Extruding... (subbed and Liked )
Great…😂 I thought I was done with big projects… what an inspiration!!!
Oops 🙈😂
Now you gotta alter a bit for Grogu :) YES YES YES YES
You’re Awesome! Very Very cool build 😊👍🏻
Definitely going to have to try your support settings for PETG. Removing them is always a nightmare for me
That is freaking cool!!
I’m new to the channel (I also subscribed), how many machines do you have or did you use for the project? I’ll have to catch up on your other vids, but keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻
Other than the ones used for this build that included a CR-10s, Ender 3 Pro, 2 Ender 3 V2s and a Mars 2 Pro, I also have a Mono X, M3 Max, and a CR-10 Smart and Chiron that are still in their boxes until I have a spot for them.
@@MMsPropShop
That’s cool thank you for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻
That was truly amazing! Do you know how much material went into this project? Thank you!
It was about 13.5 1kg rolls and maybe 250g of resin. For once I made sure to keep track of how many rolls of filament I went through only to not mention it in the video 😂
That is really cool!
This is so cool, glad I foubd your channel! :D
looks awesome so far, congrats. Greetings
Thanks! Can’t wait to start getting some paint on him.
@@MMsPropShop I'm sure it will be a masterpiece
Awesome PRINT !! Well Done 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
100% on flex plates. Best decision ever.
Amazing work!!
Great job, new sub 😁
Wow. You use lots of math and stuff. Very intimidating. IG looks epic! :)
Wow. Just wow
That was The Way ❤
Need an interactive voice for it, be fun to see if it could be part of a home automation setup.
What do you use for stands or bases for your printers also I absolutely love and appreciate the fact that you printed so much on ender 3s and your build looks awesome
They’re all just using squash ball feet.
Just amazing!
Pretty cool!! GL
Looks great
Are you going to do an IG-12 version now? AWESOME JOB!!!
wow awesome job
This is so cool 😮
Excellent choice printing in petg! Subed
Wow that is awesome 👌
Your videos are super awesome. I bet your house is amazing! How awesome would it be to take apart a vr headset and integrate it into a star wars helmet??
Looks cool
Wicked job
Very nice project! I hope you will add some lights! :)
Yep and hopefully animatronics into the head as well 😁
This is very cool, and I’ve toyed with the idea of a K2-SO, but I’ll ask you the question that’s holding me back. Where do you plan to put it?
I essentially have “droid parking” in my workshop. A lot of the droids don’t take up a ton of space as they’re quite thin and it’s just their height that could become more of a concern. It’s probably similar to the area needed for a floor lamp in a lot of cases. I’ve also wanted to build a K2 for a while. He is one of those droids that take up a bit more space as his legs have further spacing than a lot of them that just are straight down from the rest of their bodies.
AMAZING!!!
Awesome stuff! I may have missed it but how much filament did that take?
Around 13.5 1kg rolls. Didn’t miss it, just forgot to mention it in the video 😂
this chick skilled and very cool. i like.
Cool creation, did you design the IG-11 yourself ?
nice work!
love this
good luck love to see the full thing when you are done
Amazing !!!!
That is mega cool! Did you measure the height of your room by chance? Looks like you didn’t have all that much space left! 😄😊
Well it’s still under construction so the final room height has yet to be determined 😅😂
I’ll figure out somewhere for him to live eventually lol
amazing
Ive done life size prints. The print time is the short bit, all the finishing is the real time sink.
Definitely. That’s also why I try to print them at a finer quality so that I have slightly less work to do later.
Do ender3 pro
Awesome thank you love the content
How did you attach the metal scope mounts to the rifle?
looking to get a 3d printer to start doing some droid builds for myself from droid division - would you recommend the ender 3 - there is just so many of them.... not sure which model to go for for fdm and then resin
I know, the Ender 3s can be super overwhelming. The Ender 3 V2 is an awesome machine, I wouldn’t go for anything older than it model wise because the upgrades it has over the original Ender 3/Pro are worth far more than the price difference between the two models. If you wanted something with a few more bells and whistles than the V2, there’s also the V2 Neo, S1 and S1 Pro. The short version is the V2 Neo would add auto bed levelling (that red light that you see on my machines that I’ve added myself), the S1 would give you a direct drive extruder, and the S1 Pro would give you both of those features. Auto bed levelling is very useful to have but ultimately not 100% needed unless that’s something you personally want.
For resin, all of the pieces I made in the video were on my Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. It’s definitely the resin printer I get the most use out of and was my first resin printer. There have since been newer versions with upgrades but they’re all great little machines and would be a great first resin printer choice.
@@MMsPropShop Awesome thank you for the update, very kind, what do you think over the bowden extruder and the direct drive ? and what about bed size ? as seen a plus and a max ? you mentioned PETG in the video is that better than PLA for droids ? you also mentioned nozzle sizes .4 and .8 what is the diff and when would it be used ? thank you
I don’t actually own a direct drive. I understand the benefits of having one but I’ve never found the need to upgrade any of my machines.
Bed size is definitely more of a personal choice depending on what you’re wanting to build. A standard Ender 3 bed size is generally more than sufficient in most cases and due to them being the most popular printers/bed size, most designers create files that will easily fit on those machines (including Droid Division). I always use my Ender 3s first unless it’s a bigger piece and then I’ll jump to my CR-10s if I want to print it in one piece.
I’ve made many life size droids using the absolute cheapest PLA you can buy and they’re still looking great. PETG does technically offer more heat resistance and strength but I mostly chose to use it for IG for its sanding properties. It comes with a slew of other properties that can make it harder and less desirable to use for projects though like it’s difficulty with adhesion. PLA+ is a nice in between of the two plastics that a lot of the best droid builders in the world tend to gravitate towards using. A lot of the strength of pieces will come from how you print them though, not the material used.
The nozzles are the diameter of the hole that the plastic comes out of. 0.4mm nozzles are the most common size on 3D printers, 0.8mm nozzles extrude twice the amount of plastic. Using bigger nozzles is all about saving time. It can come at the cost of print quality though. A 0.8mm nozzle essentially prints at half of the resolution as a 0.4mm nozzle will. I only tend to use the larger nozzle on large pieces with little detail where you wouldn’t really see a difference in print quality between the two nozzle sizes, but it will have been printed in about half of the time. Lots of people will never venture outside of using a 0.4mm nozzle and that’s completely fine! It’s a great size for just about anything you’ll ever need to print.
Awesome thank you so much, just ordered an elegoo Neptune 3 pro - you are my inspiration
what do you use these for?
Which PETG are you using? I'm struggling with my Overture Space Gray, lots of blobs and boogers
Duramic. I’m a huge fan of their PLA+ so I figured their PETG might also be good. I’ve only ever used the one kind of PETG so far, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I was very happy with how it printed.
@@MMsPropShop Thanks! I'll give that a try. Thanks for the lightning fast response
@@MMsPropShop One more question, do you have an all metal hotend? I hear PETG can damage some printers stock hot ends because you print close to the melting point of the plastic tubes that to down the hot end
Nope, they’re all the stock hotend. I do have Capricorn PTFE tubes on the machines though that are more heat resistant than the standard white ones.
.8 nozzles are the love of my life lol. Can't wait to see the whole thing! Ps. Any thoughts on the Sovol stuff?
I really haven’t been keeping up with what Sovol is doing, sorry!
@@MMsPropShop no problem, just looking for an expert's opinion ^w^
Wow!!!! 😮
Why are you so Amazing 👏
thats fucking insane, im doing a DC15a and for me it looks quite a big project (my first one) i cant imagine all the work for this project, what a headache lol
8:32 LOL Hahahahhahahah well said dude!!!!
Wow
