It's so weird how in making of Sacrament documentary Mark was showing the Descending riff to the rest of the band and no one really liked it! Such a great song wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Mark 😮
I think somewhere in that video, Chris Adler says that the initial tune was too slow or something like that and he had to use the drums to make it sound more "metal".

In metal there is no easy or hard. What sounds good is good. Slow fast, doesn't matter. There are so many songs that are slow but kicks ass so much. e.g.the old classics - iron man, paranoid, war pigs and all that are not difficult or fast. But look at those songs. They really kick ass till this day. Or look at pantera- this love, I am broken, 5 minutes alone, etc. It is phenomenal.

@@ShailendraSVK I hope I'm talking about the right part, but for the main riff that starts at the beginning you could use a mix of economy picking and alternate picking. So starting from the first bar of tab in the video start with a down pick on the 13, alternate the 12 0 12 0 starting with an up, then for the 12 13 on the A string play down and then up, leading back to the 12 0 12 0 with an up. So for the first bar play down, up, d, u, d, d, u, u, d, u, d, d, u. The following bar would then start with an up on the 13. Try different picking patterns to see if there's one that works better for you too. Hope it helps a bit! giving you trouble.
Finally some good fucking tabs for the low and high harmony parts. Tabs I got from songsterr don’t sound right and it’s been driving me crazy trying to figure out how it’s actually supposed to go. Thanks🫡

After watching 10 LoG songs/tabs in a row I'm convinced it's all the same riff recombined. Still sounds amazing every single time too.
