thanks Rudy! need to order my short shifter. this helped me to wrap my silver piece around my shifter boot. after you remove the first piece it's only 4 Phillips screws to remove the silver boot retainer. #riceislife!

It was pretty easy. But I will say be very patient and take your time I cut my self a few times on sharp objects that are deep in there!!! But overall like 35-45min

My shifter didn't have the sticker but I got it from k series parts and the box it came in is Buddy Club..
Quality is questionable. There’s some play on the gate selector. About a 20 percent decrease in length of shifts but the side to side remains the same. The included bushing stiffens up the shifts enough to be noticeable. Overall I’d say I would have been better off adding a half inch to the bottom of the shift lever. That’s honestly the only difference between this product and the oem part. Seems like more time and effort went into designing the box than anything
I was thinking About getting the acuity short shifter but it’s 400$ I prefer this buddy club it’s way cheaper 145.00. Can someone tell me the difference why is acuity so expensive

Hey had order mine to from pro civic also but I find this shifter sucks sloppy in every gear lose as Fk dont wast the money stock shift has no slop in gears also bought the bushings to no different sorry but I would love for a full refund what a mess to change it an the only way to lower it is to dont install the boot collar back on if you use the mugen shifter ball sinks way down 2 inch or more than before thanks sorry for late response thanks alot wish some one put this out years be for okay
Can you give me more detail why this buddy club shifter sucks? I was considering to buy one.. would you've rather saved up more money for the adjustable acuite shifter?

We might in the near future, but we chose the 9th Gen Si because it is the newest platform. To be honest, much of what we're doing here applies directly to the 8th Gen as well. There are not that many big differences between the two when it comes to the installation procedures.
What do I do if I lost the little blue pin and washer
+Deathsquad 119 If the parts are lost, replacements will need to be purchased from the dealer. The dealer part numbers are: 54118-S10-000 and 90715-SDA-000. If you need to get it running right now, you can get a washer that will fit the diameter of the arm and a safety wire to get you by for now.

Question: When reattaching the shifter cables to the cage, are you supposed to lightly bend the cables to make them fit? I had to twist the black plastic ring all the way and slightly bend it to make it attach to the new cage
Thavarith Phlong It is ok to bend the cable a bit to make them fit, but they should go back into shape after you're done bending them.

+jeffrey wong In general, both kits are good. The sirimoto is simply better bang for the buck.
My question is why change the stock short throw shifter for another short throw shifter. Doesn't make sense to me. Are there any gains you get from this shifter?
Hayden Smith The stock shifter is not considered a short throw shifter. It has pretty long throws. This shifter will reduce those throws a lot.
The piece right under the shift knob is competly stuck for me, how do i get it unstuck to screw it off?

In your comparison video for the OEM and BC shifter assemblies, the comments mention that the BC shifter makes the shift knob sit lower. The rest of the Internet appears to say that it actually sits 1" higher. Any confirmation on this?
+Jose Ortega Actually, we've measured it several times, it is so close to the stock height you shouldn't even notice it. I'm not sure why some people say it sits higher or lower.

During the reassembly, do you put everything back in that you took off? More specifically the cable end on the driver side that you mentioned has a washer on it as well.

Omar Delaluz Buddy Club is a little shorter through, but CT is less expensive. Tough choice!
The little ball underneath the shifter, is that hard to pop back in? I just purchased an Acuity short shifter and will be installing it tomorrow. I've heard it can be a pain to get in there sometimes and can pop out. That cotter pin worries me too. It looked easy enough to loosen but I didn't see you really mention anything about the ball joint there so I was curious. Thanks.
+Marc Menasian The bushing is very simple to pop back in when needed. It's fairly straight forward once you have the assembly pulled out. Will this shifter work on a 2013-2015 Acura 2.4 ILX?
It bolts up just fine, but unfortunately if you use the stock shift boot the shift lever will hit the shift boot surround when you shift. So, don't get this for your Acura ILX unless you want to modify your shift boot housing.

I don't really like the stock shifter. It feels pretty mushy to me but it's not that bad. Still, i want to get a short throw shifter but i have like no experience with working on cars and this looks pretty complicated. How much do you guys think it would cost to have a local shop to do this install for me? Thanks.
+Chris Beckz Unfortunately, this is not something we can easily answer. All shops have their own hourly rate for work on a vehicles. It would be best to simply ask for rates and compare to how long it takes to install (should be roughly 20-30 minutes)

When it comes in assembling everything back together, do you have to put it back into fifth gear so get the clip underneath the shift knob hooked?
Yes, it is not required, but it helps out to do that.
is it normal for the shifter to have play?
centering spring and base bushings take care of that

Thanks for the quick respond. I just thought they might fit because both Civic SI and ILX 2.4 have the same motor and pretty much same platform.

I can't get the locking nut off? It seems like it is cross threading? Any advice?
Hold the shift knob in place tightly with your hand while you use a wrench to move the lock nut down (make sure you rotate it so the lock nut moves down and not up).
