- In this episode I share all the details about a fundraiser for Hurricane Helene Relief efforts in Western North Carolina. I was asked by Sandra, with Cross Stitch & Crafts, to participate in a fundraiser supporting hurricane victims. I designed a small ornament with a message of hope during this time of distress. Go, Tell It On The Mountain that there is hope and you are never alone. Grab a pen and paper, your favorite beverage, your cross stitch, and let's get started.

I bring this design to you in a time of uncertainty and grief for many. I was asked to participate in a fundraiser for our dear friends affected by Hurricane Helene 2024. I knew immediately I wanted to continue my series of songs, words that bring hope to us during a season when so many are experiencing so much loss. Go, Tell It On The Mountain is a song about bringing the good news of Jesus’ presence to the world. I can just hear the shepherds and wise men as they left the manger, anxiously traveling to the next town where they could spread the word of hope born in the dark night.
As we support our neighbors and friends, let’s stitch together and share the love of our craft and friendship with those who need it most. Go, tell it on the mountains that there is hope!

Thank you Annie, Sandra, and Bonnie for designing this beautiful Go Tell It on the Mountain cross stitch ornament. It's wonderful that 100% of the pattern sale will give us the opportunity to help do something good. I will continue to pray for your sister-in-law and all the people affected by Helene.
Hi Annie could you please put this chart in your esty shop for us in other countries to support this terrible hurricane that has effected so many lives , we are all thinking of everyone effected , God bless
My heart goes out to your sister-in-law and those in western NC that have lost everything due to Hurricane Helene. Thank you for educating those that do not know the mountain terrain and the dangers that are faced when flooding happens there. Your ornament will remind me of the beautiful mountains where I grew up and most of my family still resides. Sandra, Bonnie, and you are so generous to donate your talents, time, and energy to help those affected by this horrific flooding.
Dear Annie, first of all, I am so thankful to hear that your sister in-law is with you and am so sorry that she lost her home and town. The devastation from Helene to the people in Western NC and TN is horrific, and my prayers for them will continue. Your pattern is so beautiful and symbolic of this beautiful place. I will be calling to order one of the paper copies. I want to be a part of helping the people, and your design will be a reminder of how strong the people of these communities are. Thank you for designing such a special piece!
Annie, thank goodness you made contact with your sister-in-law, and she is safe. My heart breaks for all those who have suffered such devastating losses. Thank you for designing the beautiful stitch as a way for us to help. I'll definitely be ordering. ❤
Dear Annie, thank you so much for your generosity. I think I speak for all of us witnessing the devastation hurricane Helene left behind and how helpless we feel. I appreciate you designing this beautiful ornament and giving us another opportunity to do something good. My hope is that we will be there to support these communities in the months to come, when it is no longer being addressed by the media.
Thank you - it will take many years to rebuild, repair, and reconstruct this area.
I was born and raised in North Carolina and have fond memories of visiting Black Mountain, Montreat, Asheville, & Chimney Rock to name a few. The damage done and the lives lost in Helene is incomprehensible. The 48 hours waiting for news of your sister-in-law must have been agonizing. I’m thankful she is safe. Thank you for this beautiful design. I love to sing Go, Tell It on the Mountain. Music has the ability to touch our hearts and souls, especially in dark days. Blessings on you!
I will definitely be supporting this cause. Thank you for a pattern of hope. It is such a beautiful meaningful pattern. I pray for all those affected. ❤
A beautiful pattern and such a great way to help support those affected by Helene. I love the song Go Tell it on the Mountain, yes we have hope always through Jesus! Thank you for offering this.
I am so sorry for the sadness and destruction these hurricanes have brought to so many, many people. This is a wonderful plan, count me in. 💔
Thank you
What a scary time for your family. Grateful your SIL is safe and well supported with your family. Thank you for the opportunity to stitch this beautiful piece to support communities in need. It will also serves as a reminder to continue to keep them in our prayers ❤👏🏻
Thank you so much!
Trying not cry while watching this at lunch at work! Thank you for all of your efforts 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you
Thank you for sharing your (and your sister-in-law’s) personal experience with the devastation of Helene. And Thank you for sharing your talent for this fundraiser, it is a beautiful ornament and I will be ordering a pattern. I am also glad you were able to be a safe place for your family.
Love your design! Blessings for raising lots of money for the hurricane relief efforts in Western NC. Take care!
Thank you so much!
Annie... so happy that your sister in law is safe. When we drive from Florida to New Hampshire we always go through western North Carolina ( we avoid route 95!) and we are always amazed at the beauty in that section of our country.... so sorry to see the devastation there. It really is hard to imagine when we look at the pictures of the damage and the towns that were totally wiped out. Our area in central Florida really did not sustain much damage and we thank God for that... I will be ordering your beautiful cross stitch piece and thank you so much for having this fundraiser. God bless you and all of the people that have been impacted by the storm.💕💕
It truly is a beautiful area that is forever changed. My heart just breaks.
Thank you for this, the ornament and the personal reflections on the devastation in those towns and hollows. Those mountains have a home in my heart, and prayers for those people have been raised up. I am thankful your sister in law survived, and that others found refuge in traveling up the hill that day. ❤🙏
Thank you
I am so happy that your family is ok. Thanks be to God! Absolutely love the ornament for Hurricane relief! You knocked it out of the park, Annie and I think this would be lovely staying up year 'round! I am so glad this is being done. I did catastrophe work for more than a decade, and every little bit helps when folks have lost everything.
Thank you! 🙏
What a perfect design for this terrible situation in NC. I've seen the reports of how things are bad there, but I don't think they give the full breadth and scope of the destruction. I'm so glad your sister-in-law is safe. What a terrible thing for these people to go through. Thank you for giving stitchers a way to help support the efforts of recovery there. All my very best to your sister-in-law and any other family member that has been impacted. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
There is no way to comprehend the destruction. It's just devastating. Thank you for watching
Annie, bless your heart. You are such a special person. My heart is with you, your sister-in-law, and all those affected by the storm. My mom was from one of those mountain towns you describe, so your message really resonates with me. Go Tell It on the Mountain was one of her favorite Christmas carols❤ I cannot wait to order this ornament in support of all those who have been impacted by the storm. Thank you for what you are doing❤
Thank you
I love the heart that we stitchers share, even tho we may not know names! God's blessings on each heart that gives to the Black Mountain folks in these most uncertain times. Thank you, Annie, for bringing us all together in love thru your talents and your giving heart..God's richest blessings on all!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕💕💕
Thank you
Annie, I have been praying for your sister-in-law and am so happy to hear that she is with you and Matthew, safe and sound. There are so many suffering and I love that you, Bonny, and Sandra are providing us a way to give a hand up to all these folks. I wish I could be with you on Saturday but that is not possible for me right now; however, I will calling to place my order and send you all a virtual hug for your kindness and generosity! xxoxo
I wish you could join us, but I will be sending you a virtual hug as well. I miss your sweet face. xoxo
Thank you for doing this !! I have a dear friend which I haven’t been able to reach. I love this design and will certainly enjoy making it plus it will be a reminder for our many blessings. I live in the an hour and a half from Asheville and very thankful we the heavy rain we got didn’t over flow as much. God has a plan for us all. God Bless you and your family
I pray you hear from your friend soon. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Annie for this awesome opportunity! My sister lives outside of Hendersonville, NC and fortunately they had some trees come down but didn’t too much destruction. She relocated there after living on the gulf side of FL thank goodness!). We were lucky as a family to continue to have cell contact with her. I can’t imagine the anguish your family went through for 48 HOURS!!!! We stopped last year at Stitch and Craft when we went for a visit to NC. This is so generous of you and will be placing an order for it. I will take a peruse around your Etsy also. I need a copy of All are Welcome at the Table. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you so much

Thank you so much!
Annie, thank you for doing this. Mountain folks hold my heart as my pap was from the mountains in WV. My daughter lives in Estill Springs TN and my grandson lives in Winchester TN. My nerves were on edge worrying that Helene was headed their way. Thankful they only got rain. But at the same time knowing that others would be hurting. Will definitely be ordering Go tell it on the mountain. God bless you and happy your sil is ok.
Very kind of you Annie! Love the pattern and will definitely place an order. Telling all my stitchy friends to do so as well.

Thank you for helping those in need from the hurricane. Love the pattern you designed and looking forward to stitching it. Would love to come meet you on Saturday but don’t think all roads are passable from here in SC to TN. All the people in areas hit are in my thoughts and prayers. I can not imagine going through something like that.
Thank you.
You have such a giving heart and I will be ordering the pattern as this is one of my favorite hymns and now it has so much meaning. Being a 26 year employee at the American Red Cross I know how important this will be to those that have been devastated from this disaster. I have the cording tool but have never used it so really need to get it out.
Thank you!
Thank you for such a sweet pattern! We have friends in Black Mountain and I plan to stitch this and send to her - it's perfect!
Thank you
Annie, Just one more reason for the Lord giving you the creativity of designing these patterns. It is such a devastating time for all of the people affected by the hurricane and my heart and prayers continue for them.

Thank you
My first project of yours is The Autumn Sampler. I had a local shop owner order it for me and she did end up selling several more to our fellow stitchers. I will wait til Saturday to call. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Annie thank you for your wonderful design. So glad your sister in-law made it to safety. Being in the mountains you don't expect flooding and hurricanes. Do you know how any of who want to give more how we can do that. I want it to go directly to the people not in someone's pocket who's just scamming us.
Thank you so much! When you call to order you can ask to contribute to a donation
Thank you for sharing my support on the way god bless the world🙏

Thank you
Your design has the best message of hope for our mountain recovery. Praying for all those who were affected and thank you for your generosity. Go and tell it!
Thank you
So happy your sister-in-law is safe and with you. Love your design and your heart! I live in Asheville and am very fortunate to have no property damage or injuries. We had no power or Wi-Fi for 10 days after the hurricane and still do not have water after 2 weeks. So many things we take for granted like flushing the toilet and washing dishes and clothes, and taking a shower! But I cannot complain when so many are suffering and have lost so much. During the 10 days without power I had to stitch during the day by the window, I tried but was not able to stitch at night by candlelight. It made me appreciate the young girls who stitched all those samplers in the past before electricity. I love Marshall and we go there often to dine and shop, so glad you are helping them!
Oh Debbie, I am so glad you are safe. I just love Asheville and go there several times a year. I just know it will forever be changed. I am so glad you were able to have your stitching with you. I know, for me, it can bring peace and comfort.
Can’t imagine what all those affected are going through. So glad your sister in law was rescued and you are able to help her through this. I will call the shop next week to order.
Thank you
Dear Annie. Thank you for your update. I’m so glad your sister in law is safe and with you. Is it ok if we give more money for the pattern to pass it on to those in need. Love all your pattern. Thank you and praying for all of the people on the area.
