Thank you, this knowledge is invaluable to the porsche community. The PDK is always under lock & key so it's is nice to finally see a little more of it. Is the clutch pack serviceable or is the metal riveted or welded in place?

It's a sealed unit that is welded together. If parts were available I would think this would be a pretty easy job for a shop that does automatic torque converter rebuilds, as the skills and internal parts would be very similar.

Is the area behind the large sealing plate filled with trans fluid, or is it just a dust cover? Could trans fluid make its way into the diff housing if the double seal that separates the diff housing from this area is compromised?

I think the plate is there for spray protection from the clutch pack. If one side of the double seal fails and leaks, there is a weep hole that allows it to escape on the underside of the casing between the diff and bell housing so it won't leak to the other chamber. Explained at 4 min mark of the half shaft seal vid.

Hey mate how tight is the clutch assembly normally when you pull it out?

I've never pulled one from an intact transmission. The transmission I had was broken apart at the bell housing and was separate when I got it. From stuff I'd seen elsewhere on the net I came up with what I thought was a good way to remove with no special tools. I would expect the big O ring around the edge will be pretty stuck in there and will required a bit of force, but not excessive. Sounds stupid, but confirm you have removed the snap ring. It won't come out without this removed.
Link below to someone removing using a slide hammer and a special tool they made. I expect they have already removed the clutch pack at least once prior to making this video, so I would expect first time there would be more force than shown here.

@@jeffrichardsoncardiy Thanks mate, ended up making a tool up. It was a lot tighter then I expected it to be. Didn’t help with the internal damage from the left side axle poping out and flogging inside the box
