@@wieli. I'm building this right now, the instructions need some work😅 but figuring it out is half the fun. The dowels and bearing are the biggest hurdle. But yeah, a detailed guide would have been nice.
Wow, just wow. I printed and built the last one with my grandson. He loved the project. I would love to download and print this one as another project we could do together. Thanks for everything you do.
I really enjoyed the Time I had building the Coin Sorting Volt. Getting a shot at building this Vault would be great. You have the only Channel on RUclips where I decidet to turn Notifications on!
Fantastic work again Rocco, your designs just get better and better! You really have a knack for the A-Z of the engineering process. Here I am sitting on 5 different unfinished projects, and not even one compares to yours! Keep it up!
This is the coolest 3D printed project I've seen! I would love to make one! You are a very smart person and thanks for sharing your talents with all of us!
I have printed and assembled several very intricate clocks in the last couple years. I would absolutely love to build this safe. I even have a 3d printed holder that turned one of my dremels into a chop saw specifically for cutting metal dowels to the exact length required. I really do hope you decide to share this file. I would even be willing to pay for it. It would also make PCBway happy because a lot of us would use them to cut the plexiglass. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
Thank you! I didn't upload the files with the video because I was worried it's too complicated without more in-depth instructions, but there seems to be enough people willing to give it a shot so I decided to upload the files. Here is the link: www.printables.com/model/740370-vault-with-combination-lock Thanks for watching and commenting!!!!
Love the industrial design! Please do share the plans. That would give me all year to build enough for this year's Christmas list. You've got me thinking about redesigning my drop front fireplace mantel.🗝😉
My one critique is that if you made a retention plate for the end of the disc stack, you wouldn't need glue there at all. That would eliminate a step that has the risk of scuttling the project. Your spacers could be free-floating.
Beautiful work! For many of the connections, surely CA glue would have been much faster to use than JB Weld? I glue most of my 3D printed parts together with basic CA glue and they bond very well in just a few minutes.
This is beautiful. I love the mechanisms. Excellent job with vault. This is top-notch. Thank you. I have a resin printer but once I get my Bamboo I will print the coinsorter and this if it's available. Best of luck from Uruguay.
Definitely upload the files... I mean that is a work of art, and regardless of how fraught the assembly would be, I'd live to give it a try. My Mk4 is begging to print this!
if you need to do more acrylic glue ups I'd recommend 3d printing a jig with 3 pins in it matched to the acrylic and the 3d printed parts, that way you don't have to worry about alignment.
ECCEZIONALE!!! SEI UN GRANDE!!! Ho sempre sognato di vedere realizzata questa cassaforte da quando ero piccolo. Sarebbe bello realizzassi anche una serratura a combinazione per un libro segreto!!!
I am 100% interested in building this. I built your last one and although it was frustrating (more because of my printer) I had so much fun putting it together.
Wow it looks amazing! And a very interesting mechanism to build. Really fun to watch this. If I could give any criticism; some parts on the front show the top of the prints thus showing the print lines. Printing them upside down on a PEI sheet would make the look more interesting. There are also print beds with smooth and other textures like carbon which make a much nicer bottom finish.
I came across this on Maker World - This is incredible!! I'm just on the fence about whether or not I want to tackle this one. Perhaps when I'm looking for a real challenge. But, great job!
This is an awesome project. I subscribed to your channel immediately after watching this video. I absolutely want to make this for myself. I would gladly pay for the STL files. Lock picking is my other major hobby so this would fit perfectly. It's a truly awesome project. It makes me think about another project I'd like to make but don't have the CAD skills and have not seen available. That being a 3D printed working clock with visible gear movement. Excellent work and I really hope you end up making the files available.
I'd be interested in building one of these if you ever decide to release the files. I'm an engineer so the more complex builds are a nice diversion from the day-to-day... Very cool design sir!
Very good video, and indeed I would love too to have those files so I can slam my head on the desk pondering my existence, which will make the finished product way more enjoyable to look at after done with it :)
I would absolutely love to build one of these. The other projects you've uploaded have all been so much fun to do. If you're up for it, please upload the files. Even if you don't upload a guide video, I for one, would still attempt to build it with this video and the files.
Thank you for sharing such a cool project! I was planning on building your coin sorting vault with my nephew but he'd be definitely prefer a 'thing' vault. I hope you are able to share or sell your design. I also understand there's a bit of nuance when it comes to sharing online, still, I'm always up to figure out a project where the creator doesn't want to support everyone's build of it. Thanks again for sharing what you have so far!
Thank you! You nailed exactly why I'm hesitant to share it, I don't want people to spend a bunch of time and money trying to build this and have issues. But stay tuned, I've gotten a lot of requests to post it so don't be surprised if I decide to share it... 😉
@@RoccosStuff Awesome! You definitely deserve some attention for what you've built so far. Your latest has quite a nice balance of function and design. I hope you find success with your videos!
Rocco please share it! The coin sort machine (€ version) is doing a daily job here and collects the families coins. I love it. This one looks so awesome. I'm hot to build it 😊
A very interesting project. The visibility of the mechanics is very nice. I'm thinking about replicating it. Possibly with a partially transparent lock frame to make this part visible when the door is open. This would be your second project on the list. I failed with the coin sorting safe because of the number of coins, but someone else has already solved it. If you keep making such good models, I'll need more filament.
Have you thought about adding a compliant mechanism to the rotation so you can have a clicky sound? Ive had to design a few dials and for things where you can use more than one finger to rotate like a 3 prong compliant mecahnism around a notched shaft (which for items that need to just rotate still can). The reason I like doing the 3 is balance + if one breaks there is still 2 others.
That's rad. I printed your coin sorting vault and I love it. I posted it on my Instagram and it has literally 100 times more likes than my most liked post lol. Ive also gained over 80 new followers because of it 😂😂. So thanks!
This is a great build! I have only one critique: JB Weld does not bond to acrylic. It's not porous enough. You'll need a thinner glue to get any mechanical bonding.
Thanks for watching! And thanks for the info, I should have done some research - I just assumed JB weld connects to everything. I'll be more careful in the future, thanks!
Please share the STLs, I'd love to print this model out and build one myself. Awesome project! Also, is it possible add a solid front door so for those of us who don't have acrylic sheets but still have the gears visible when the vault is open?
I would build it for sure :) Beside uploading the stls, maybe you can sell hardware kits too with precut dowels and acrylic. Or even sell the stl like 3dsets does it.
First time seeing your channel. What's wrong with YT? They should have shown me this much sooner! Great work! And sharing files and your process. Definitely Subbed...
That is beautiful. However I doubt I’d build it. I may need to redo the door for the coin sorter due to some tolerance issues I had. So I just don’t lock the door. However truly love the design.
I agree with the majority, please release the model files. I think a fair warning as to the complexity of the project, as you did in this video, should address your concerns about releasing a project of this complexity
I work in an old banking house and there are two real vaults in the basement. We don't have the keys, so we cannot use them, but I think it would be nice to have a little 3d-printed vault.
I wish you would post the files and include the templates files you used to align the pins. I think it be a great project built. It would be nice if you listed the pin sizes that need to be ordered. Great project great, video keep up the good work.
Thanks! I'm not planning on selling them at the moment because the material cost plus time to assemble would make the price kinda insane. But stay tuned, I may change my mind if I can figure out a way to streamline the assembly.
I would love to see the files uploaded or even a Patreon. But homie, my friend, my man... @3DGloop is your friend!!!! JB Weld is messy, stinky, and slow. Gloop Chemically Bonds plastics in seconds.
Files are available for download on Printables! Follow this link: www.printables.com/model/740370-vault-with-combination-lock

Very cool, I would love to download and build one
Awesome and Ditto from Australia. My girls would absoloutly love one of these eash!

This is a masterpiece. I love your designs. I'm planning to print one for my daughter.
Thank you!!!
Fun looking project. As a Mechanical Engineering I can appreciate the time and effort to make this design and complete the assembly. Nice work.
This is spectacular. I'd love to build one, but my design skills are, well, nonexistant. Uploading this to Printables would make my day!

That's some quality CAD work and great assembly. This would for sure be a cool project!
Definitely one of the coolest 3D printed projects I've seen so far. I'm tempted of trying it on my CNC plasma table.
Yess!!!

I don't know if I would build the whole safe, but that demo prototype of how it works looks like something fun to make.
I enjoyed making the jet engine with an afterburner and this looks like a heck of a lot of fun. I will and am going to make it.
Wow, beautiful project and very clear video and explanation! This is really an underestimated channel, hopefully it will become more popular.

I think CA would work for the coloured 3D printed parts but would cause the clear acrylic to go milky due to out gassing while drying.
