  • In this video you’ll learn how to create your first UX UI design portfolio!
I’m Yaeli, a Senior Product designer at Chainlink Labs and I invite you to join this quick and easy step by step tutorial on how to create your UX UI portfolio and get your first job at tech!
I decided to show you how to build your first portfolio in Figma! Confused? Give it a watch and let me know your thoughts.
Just to clarify, this video is not about crafting the case studies themselves, I am currently working on a series of “Designing your first “fake” project” (I still don’t know what to call it, so please suggest a better name in the comments lol)
Please keep in mind these are only my opinions as a Product UX Designer. I'm one user out of millions and only express my professional yet personal opinions.
If you're a beginner UX designer, I highly encourage you to adopt critical thinking about apps, always think beyond the interface, and try to understand UX patterns and behaviors that make an app or a product good (or bad).
There are always pros and cons, and a good UX designer knows how to find inspiration even in terrible apps 😊

16:28 what do you mean you can't click a button in Figma? Also Framer is good as well. Continue the series. Subscribed.

What I meant is- I can’t make it a link that opens an email for a “contact me” button
I will definitely check Framer soon!

I love this video, thank you for sharing! I'm currently a rising 3rd year at my university and in the process of creating my own personal projects/ portfolio. could you recommend a project a university could create to put on their portfolio for upcoming fall/summer 2025 internships?

    • @ItsUXgirl
      @ItsUXgirl  Месяц назад

2 things to consider before I answer:
      1- I haven’t done an internship.
2- I used my course projects in my first portfolio
Now, the biggest tip I can give you is make something relevant
Choose a project that speaks to people, and will solve a problem that the portfolio reviewers will relate with OR is in the niche of their product.
      For example:
if I’d wanna work at Figma, I’ll have a project that caters designers, OR I’ll design a feature/plugin specifically for Figma
You can also choose a new area to focus on such as AI tools/apps
The third thing to consider is to have one Web app and one mobile app to show versatility
      Hope this helps 🙏

    this is really helpful!!
off topic question: how do i get a pop up with tabs & extensions on the left side of the screen? :) i find that so much easier and accessible! also, what’s the extension called that identifies font type when you hover over a piece of text?

I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I think you are referring to the Arc browser that I’m using (I have a video about it, feel free to look it up)
On Arc the menu is on the left and so are the Chrome extensions. The extension showed in this video is called Fonts ninja and it’s literally the best!!
