When i got called for an interview for ready mix position your videos helped to get an idea about what the job was about before i even started and id like to say thank you very much for your content!! To this day i have never had a load rejected either so im very proud of that
Ok, so I am two years late seeing this video, but because I start in 2 days as an Agi Driver, I am seeking out as much info as I can. I've learned more in this video than the last six RUclips videos that I've watched. Now a subscriber and thank you.
I'm an instructional designer creating an online job training course on becoming a mixer operator. I am so impressed by how you explain things in this video, especially the part on slump tests. Great job!👏
im a School Bus Driver Trainee here in Regina Canada, i have a Class 1A license (Class A CDL), and wanting to try out working as a mixer driver, but right now im attempting to get my School Bus license “S” endorsement and work as a School Bus Driver- from the beginning a spare driver, there is difficulty but the driving makes me enjoy it, im trying to get experience as a Heavy Vehicle Operator , so i can apply a job working as a Heavy Truck Driver or driving a Bus.. and nice videos very informative..
Slump is the lie the customers say they want because they're going to try to pump a 3 then get mad when it doesn't pump or they're going to add 20 gallons to the 5 they ordered anyway 😂
Right? Order a 5 put in 40+ gallons then spend over an hour unloading you while constantly using your water hose... Then get pissed when you cut them off... Got to love it.
I'm new but yeah, ticket says one thing about the slump, but once u get there, they always have u add water. When I wash in, I don't care how much water goes into the drum bc I know it will dry out a little bit and the customer will almost always want it wetter
we order 5-5.5 then make it a 6-6.5 because dumb ass mixer drivers are brain dead and dont know what tf is a slump is.... and who tf uses a 3inch slump for a fuckin footer or a wall LOL you want that shit to flow bud.....
I went to dollar tree and bout everything lol I. A new new driver lol wash your truck wash your truck.......and most importantly after any job rinse out the hopper your blades and your chute
But you also have to take the temperature into consideration. I rather get the dirt moist and pour a 3 in slabs with up to 80 degree temperature, which gives me a stronger slab. That’s also New Jersey, not Arizona. In Arizona I poured slab of 7 and I saw the men rush. In New Jersey, even in the summer a 5 was a great slump. But if it rained the day before and temperatures around 70, I would ask for a 3. In using a phone to write that and I can barely read what I wrote, hopefully I didn’t confuse anyone.
haha they handle like a dream if you keep it under 15 mph... I was looking into garbage trucks a few years ago but they had a wait list for new hires about a year out. How'd you end up with that gig?
@@grabbinggears109 wow a year wait list a year out? Now they can’t keep anyone so it’s easy now lol. @@bryceweaver01 nice. I had a buddy quit mixers and switched to dump trucks. But he quit that like a month later and came back lol.
