- Do you ever have an idea in your head and you're determined to accomplish this idea regardless of the obstacles in the way? Yeah, this was one of those ideas (ha!). Brutal wind conditions, multiple hours of driving, a not-so-stable paddle board, and a totally uncertain idea of getting into some bass!
We took the chance and boy oh boy did it pay off! Some of the best smallmouth bass fishing I have had in months! we got there, hopped on the board, and went to work almost immediately catching some smallies! Although a few small ones here n' there, there were also some MONSTERS hanging out below the surface and they weren't afraid to bite! The Jerkbait was key and although I was bummed to lose one of my favorite ones, we still got it done with another jerkbait and the jig!

Bro, is your box secured to the paddle board? Don't want you to lose that. Do you think a 40-50lb sit in kayak can work for that spot? I love my perception impulse. I think the 10' version is like only 44 lbs. If you get a tow rope and drag it on grass, getting far should not be a problem at all. Unless you need to do portage-ish stuff.
Yeah to be honest, a kayak will work no problem for the most part - it’s just more of a convenience thing for me. Being able to air up the board and slide it down the hill… makes it super nice for loading and unloading. I have an NRS inflatable kayak sitting in a box… may use that next time 👀

I still have it but this spot is brutal with a kayak! Basically small and inflatable or bust!
