Love the footage at 4:00 mins even though it ends with a goalie cover. Granted the Blues are getting shellacked here, but Probert keeps the play alive on the dump-in, plays a bouncing puck in the corner first, gets it back and plays it to the point, then drives the net and almost gets another goal after kicking the puck to his stick. Garth Butcher was a pretty good defensive defenseman and had his hands full. True power forward stuff.
Stephan Quintal, Murray Baron, Rick Zombie, Igor Korelev. Bob Probert, Dallas Drake, Dino Cisserelli the Redwings, Blues is one of the most underrated rivalries in the NHL.
Yzerman looked stunned when probert got the rebound before he could and buried it. Didn’t even raise his arms like did that actually just happen probie scores 2 goals? / the fight was cool cuz when he had his jersey off he’s got a pure red shirt on underneath. The crowd seemed to like that.
@@dnx112 Probie had a heart attack. Both his father and grandfather died of heart attacks in their 40's. He was predisposed to it. Had he saught a doctor earlier he'd still be alive. So no drugs didn't kill Probie.
A realm shame. Definitely had his demons but was a well-liked guy with a nice family. His wife Dani has done a great job keeping his legacy alive, and for 10 years she did the Bob Probert Motorcycle ride & raised 1mill+ for cardiac care. Before he passed, Bob told Dani he wanted to donate his brain after he learned about CTE. She followed through and that was either the first or second instance of a former NHLer with a confirmed case. She also completed the auto-biography he was writing.
Almost 2 Gordie Howe hat tricks in one night. 2 goals. 2 fights. But one assist short, which unfortunately seemed the easiest in a game like this. Anyways, what a game! I honestly doubt anyone, maybe except for Gordie has done better?
Tony Twist was NEVER afraid of Probert . And , as small as he was...Kelly Chase would go toe to toe with Probert any time . I truly wish Bob Gassoff was still alive during Proberts reign . Gotta give it up for ol" Bob though , tough as nails .
That's cause there were fight strap rules back when Probert was top dog. Losing your jersey and equipment gives you a mobility advantage. He won many fights losing his gear. He's still the greatest enforcer of all time though.

Thank you for showing that Bob Probert could also score goals.
One year he was on the All Star team, he could produce the points.
He grew up in my neighborhood. He was older than me though and didn't know him

Quick hands and accurate punching made him the best. I really miss Probie and how hockey used to be .

Getting out of his sweater and shoulder pads faster than anyone else certainly didn’t hurt his fighting career did it?

Kelly Chase, The Chaser gave him all he could handle.

I loved that Probert could score too
The fact Jr smashed him and then responded to fight is the reason he's my favorite player.
Probie would probably pummel him but he didn't that time 😂
He was quite the weapon in his prime!

And as you can see. Also one hell of a hockey player 👍
