- Is it actually worth upgrading your car's air intake system??? If so, which upgrade is likely to be most cost effective for you?
In this video I will give you 4 checks to perform on your own car to help you answer these questions!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Car: 2012 Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde - Авто/Мото
in some cars there are places where the pipping diameter is reduced to increase air flow rate. air speed is designed into the intake system to create low end torque. by removing this with an after market intake, yes the power up top will be better, but the day to day in traffic drive ability of your car will suffer, You will use more gas to do the same acceleration from a stop doe to loss of low end torque
if your car has any 90 degree binds then yes upgrade , air is lazy a smooth path will flow better at all rpms
If you do intend on upgrading your intake system keep the intake system that you are removing to put back on later.
Great clip! Thanks
Beware of too much K&N oiling causing Mas air flow sensor failure.
if you never drive in the upper rpm range , no need to up grade , don't waste your money

what would you recommend on a Hyundai i30 crdi 2010 4speed auto with a ecu remap 150hp and 317nm? thanks
Oem intake systems.are very well designed in new cars. They are already a true CAI abd supply all the aor your engine will ever need.
Great video… what would you recommend for a 2009 ford fusion se 6 speed automatic??
Thanks, appreciate it! I don't think you'd benefit from a full induction kit because I don't think the air box is that restrictive tbh. I'd go with a performance panel filter just for the added noise and servicing ease.... But doubt you'd see a noticeable increase in performance unfortunately!
@@POVehicle Ok, i thought so, i installed the K&N filter a couple months ago and noticed a little better response in acceleration, but i was just wondering if it’d be worth it to get a full air intake. guess not. thanks for your advice man
Where did you get that steering wheel? Its very nice
Hi mate, thanks! It's from a company based in Germany called Speedautot. Would highly recommend!

Bump
Hi mate, I'd go for a performance panel filter tbh since I can't see the induction kit making too much difference due to the lowish boost pressure of the stock turbo. But if you're able to get the engine remapped again once you upgrade the intake system, I'd go for the induction kit since they'll be able to squeeze some more performance out of it with the remap! Hope that helps a little!
What about a 22 Ford Raptor? Performance filter or full CAI upgrade?
I'd go for a CAI from a reputable company like K&N since I think you'll get a noticeable performance improvement. But these are quite expensive so I would go for a Performance filter over a cheaper CAI if cost is a concern. Hope that helps!
@@POVehicle it definitely helps and cost won’t be a factor for it, thank you
@@POVehicle I’ve been looking at K&N, AFE, S&B, Cobb, and Roush
I did not understand then which filter is better?
Hi, depends on the car to be honest. If it's turbocharged, it's likely that an induction kit will objectively be the best choice. What car do you have?
Giulietta 2017 1.4 170hp multiair tct gear box
Very nice! I'd go for an induction kit if you don't mind the induction noise too much.
That should give you a pretty good step up in performance and responsiveness over a performance panel filter as the OEM airbox on those is pretty restrictive!
Just use the original box and put a nice filter inside, even a Pipercross will make a difference
