Ren's parents: "What do you mean, you're not coming home?" Ren: "I mean, I'm not coming back." Ren's parents: "Why not?” Ren: "I have several part time jobs, friends that care about me, an apprenticeship at LeBlanc, I'll likely be graduating top of my class, and have a fiancée that I will open a café with. Moving back would be a major downgrade." Ren's parents: "Look, we're sorry about what happened." Ren: "You should've said that a year ago. Bye.”
“I’ll never forget you, Ryuji.” All of the Phantom Thieves are great, but other than Morgana, Ryuji was with you from the beginning. The day he runs into you was the day you truly rebelled. His cry for help was the reason you awakened to your persona. This would set the entire story in motion as the both of you would run into Morgana and strive to take Kamoshida down to save Ann, Shiho, Mishima and the rest of Shujin from further harm. He was the most vocal when it came to taking down injustice as he truly wanted to help others and was furious when wasn’t able to, thus coming up with the idea of making the Phantom Thieves an official team. His vocalness even lead to Makoto joining, “LET’S MEET UP AT THE USUAL SPOT FOR OUR PHANTOM THIEVES MEETING.” Though he was hotheaded, he was loyal to the bitter end, even risking his life for the team. He truly was your best friend that changed your life for the better, which is why his goodbye hit me the most.
Not that we saw. We weren't privy to every minute of Joker's life. Of course, the real reason we the player don't hear from his parents is because they are supposed to be surrogates for your own parents, just as Joker as a surrogate for you.
I'd be surprised that his parents are probably aware of his adventures throughout the game and even more surprised that they are also Persona users back in their past just to answer where his badassery and dorkiness come from. Even makes more sense the reason they haven't contacted him is because they were in their own stuffs. Probably related to the metaverse. Heck having Ren/Akira on probation is because for him to not interfere their work and even staying him out of danger but his fate says otherwise. Although it will probably never happen due to one of the themes of this game is most adults are just assholes. But it be an interesting twist tho imo. Probably a suited plot theme for a next sequel of persona 5 and probably tied to the p6 if foreshadowed it right. But for now just exist in fanfiction and probably never happen.
During the entire game, Kasumi/Sumire was pushed HARD by the story to be the canon main love interest, but not only does she not have ANY goodbye confidant dialogue, she appears randomly at the station to just barely, briefly say farewell and then never appear again???? What the fuck Atlus????
While I dislike that Kasumi didn't get a goodbye. I like her part in the ending more than what was done with the rest of the cast. She actually sees him off at the station. There is no reason to have that car chase diversion, just have an ending. And I don't think Akechi is alive, I'm aware of that split second. But I don't think that will stop them from having him in spinoffs.
A really cool detail is how when Ameche passes u can hear ping pong playing as if he’s remembering the times they spent together talking and playing it
I like that it’s up to interpretation. At the end of the day, it would make more sense for him to be dead, but it also isn’t impossible for him to have survived. Them hiding his face and his other hand leaves his ultimate fate up in the air, to be decided by the viewer. If you want to believe he’s dead, then it’s just some guy in a similar coat with two gloves. If you want to believe he’s alive, then that hidden hand is currently lacking a glove.
@@LetterM I think he's probably still alive. They've established that a strong enough bond with someone can prevent certain things happening (Morgana survives the meta verse disappearing) and you only get the true ending where you see Akechi by maxing his confidant. For me, he survives for similar reasons.
Sojiro tearing up after Joker walking out and looking at his probation journal always makes me choke up for real. He gave Joker shit in the beginning but by the end, is grateful for Joker bringing him and Futaba closer and even sees him like a son. Sojiro is my favorite npc in the game, his just so chill. Lol
Yeah. Akira/Ren did so much for Sojiro and Futaba. For Sojiro, Akira/Ren helped Sojiro come to terms with his grief over Futaba's mom and dealt with her villainous brother. But he did much more for him when he helped Futaba. For Futaba, Akira/Ren rescued her from the labyrinth she trapped herself in once her mom died. He fixed her heart and repaired her mind. Later after you rescued her, you help her rescue her friend Kana-Chan.
@@amastargaming5156 Sojiro - Didn't have to take in Futaba but he did. Saved her from her abusive uncle. He also takes in a criminal when nobody else would and eventually treats him like family. Dojima - Actively avoids Nanako out of fear and guilt. Is constantly growing more and more suspicious of his own nephew as the game goes on. They're both good people but Sojiro just comes across as more heroic to me. I think Sojiro and Dojima would get along well.
@@sephaz1248 i think i prefer a different gaming style than arena as it makes the P3 and 4 gen post journey unique. The arena setting is due to the 2 new characters life situation
@@parsashirali8957 they also planning to make Arena Version Persona 5. Thats why they are mentioning that instead of Scramble, but nonetheless i like Scramble better than whatever Arena Version Atlus will make. They should focus developing SMT V instead of milking P5 forever
That would've been perfect! Then reaching out his glove less hand😭❤ Protagonist smiling. But, I'm just glad Atlus took it easy on everyone's hearts and showed him passing by in the background
These kinds of endings always make me feel a bit empty inside. I do like the fact that everyone moves forward with their ambitions/dreams and not just Joker in the Royal true ending, but I wish there was some sort of short epilogue after the final credits like with Golden. It made it feel more complete, since we get a glimpse of how much they all changed or achieved yet still be the same deep down.
@Orga777 It is a direct sequel to the original P5 and not Royal though. That may be good or bad thing depending on who you are asking. Kinda sucks that they would waste what Royal added though. While the lack of Kasumi is a huge shame, it's the character growth of the original crew that I wish wasn't abandoned.
@Orga777 I'll stay optimistic about that regardless. But with Atlus themselves confirming saying that it's a sequel to the original and not Royal, it's a bit hard. But them again, they usually know how to make a good story, so it could end up being better.
Researcher Researching Research From my perspective, they could do a sequel for persona 5 royal, cause it sold a lot of copies, and story remains open for everything, maybe a persona 6 with all of them at the university who knows
@@ResearcherReasearchingResearch I am pretty sure Persona 5 scramble is a sequel to royal as they make reference to a palace that only occurs in Royals. Plus they were both developed side by side so why wouldn't the scramble team know about Royal's story It's similar to Persona 4 arena which came out before Golden but is technically a sequel to the Golden version as Persona 4 Arena Ultimax confirms this
@@soulwarfare42 Other than that reference, it does not acknowledge the true end of Royal. No mention or easter eggs of Akechi from the true end, Kasumi not being part of the cast. Scramble was already in development before Royal was even talked about, so it was normal that this is going to be the outcome. It is very similar to how Arena was planned/developed, which was done as a cannon sequel to the original base game. It was only after, with the sequel to the sequel/spin-off that the definitive edition was fully referenced/included. Besides, the writing can be easily fixed though; some DLC or another game after Scramble that explains their absence and it's all fixed.
So if we start a new game plus does that technically mean, we do not keep the ultimate persona of the faith Arcana Edit: ( I just realized that Akechi had a spot for me to say goodbye at, and I did not do it *sigh*)
like at the ending of the final boss with the fire thing but only of you romanced kasumire you could like press x or goodbye and the dialogue would be “I love you” instead of the “Checkmate”
"Take care." Allow me to spill my guts for a second: Every time I've thought of this moment since beating Royal two weeks ago, my heart clenches up. I romanced Sumire, I watched her reject a false existence and face the truth, I put her right next to me in the hour-long final battle and didn't move her the whole time. Sumire is my favorite Phantom Thief, and knowing that she was too late for Scramble, Starlight, Q2, and even the Mementos stage in Smash, I'm led to wonder if we'll _ever_ see her again. And the fact that you don't get to say goodbye to her in a meaningful way like all the other characters adds on to a really sad situation. I loved the game's ending, but the scene with Sumire is just heartbreaking. Atlus, I don't get it. Why did you end it like... *that?*
Max Marriner In the Japanese version she says something more like “Well then” instead of “Take care”. Besides, to her it’s not a goodbye at all. He taught her to keep her head held high and take positive steps forward in life. If you romanced her then she says she wants to get married one day but to “Please be patient” until that’s possible after she fulfills her and Kasumi’s dream. She tells him in his room that he’s stuck with her now and they’ll be together forever. She has to travel a lot for competitions, and he’s having to head to his hometown for a bit... but they’ll see each other again. It’s not a sad goodbye because it’s not the end for them at all. It’s a “see you soon” sort of deal.
I personally always thought of kasumi as a sort of "im in pain and i will brag about it". i haven't seen kasumi's full social link etc. yet, but whenever she was in the game, she was always apologizing and stuff. saying that she'll repay joker for everything he's done for her, or just straight up acting like she's the worst. I really disliked her for most of the time, but eventually i've just kind of grown into it and i didn't care. Nevertheless, she will always be a memorable character from persona series for me.
sephronnine ^this I agree with this, Ethel said the they will be on the top together so it’s safe to assume that they will meet up again not that far off into the future. Same to the other Phantom Thieves, they too said that they will meet up again. All in all it’s then end of this chapter but not for the the phantom thieves as a whole. Also side note: I do hope that there will be some sort of continuation to Yoshizawa, which I sadly doubt it, because she is such a great character and I kind of want to see the narrative to have a neat way to go on even after Royal
For some reason, the Ren meeting the Jazz Jin owner is depressing enough. Its like the promise haven't went full circle yet. Ren keeping Akechi's glove bears the same weight as Aigis holding Makoto's evoker after his death, knowing the stakes their loved ones had taken for their futures. Knowing Atlus, they might have another game to connect Royal plotline after Phantom Strikers. However, likely announce next year as its Persona 25th anniversary, also being P5 5th anniversary
Would love for this. But honestly, just a 15 min canon OVA showing the gang back together would be enough for me and get rid of the bitterness ingot from the true ending.
Personally, I actually love that we didn’t get a proper goodbye with Sumire. I’m not really sure why, it just adds to the bitter sweetness of it all. She knows you’re gonna see each other again and you yourself taught her to keep moving forward, no matter what. It makes sense she wouldn’t want an over dramatic farewell because that would feel, to her at least, like an ending. When really, it’s just the beginning.
Seeing her (the last person) at the station before departing is still cool and emotional yes, too bad her "take care" remains lame and kinda ruins the touching moment.
Akira/Ren rescued Sumire from her own delusions brought to life and then masked by Dr. Maruki. Thanks to Akira/Ren, Sumire can finally be comfortable as herself and living under her real name.
Started bawling when Futaba said her final goodbyes and wiped away her tears, recovered- and then bawled again when Sojiro did the same. I fucking love their family dynamic.
I’m not an emotional guy. But I’m not afraid to admit that the persona series is the only type of fiction that makes me tear up just a little bit. Thank you atlus for creating amazing characters and stories. Been a fan since persona 3.
i think yusuke's goodbye is what's stuck with me the most. it hits me the hardest and what makes me cry every time I've played this game... "even should I scar my work with doubt, hesitation, chaos... certainly, that's a beauty all its own. your life is no worse for it's own scars. your truest beauty lies in them, and i hope you tell me their stories some day."
Same. I was mentally prepared, and honestly felt like the goodbyes were overdue considering the game had like 5 "final" battles before another twist. But that line really broke me.
Akira/Ren helped Yusuke not only get out of his artist's block, but also saved him from resorting to what his teacher Madarame did. Thanks to Akira/Ren, Yusuke will finally succeed as an artist. And more importantly, Akira/Ren rescued Yusuke from Madarame’s abuses and with his help, took down the villain and got him put away.
I really wish I could find friends like those. I'm socially not the best person there, even tho I'm not shy or anything like that. But the feeling that I have friends that would die for me, I would die for them, to be together against any hardship and help the other is something I want. To have a loud friend that doesn't give up, a beautiful friend that tries to inspire others, a friend that doesn't need to be normal to be unique and proves his own desires, an intellectual mind that will always choose the path of justice and stick to what is right, a little sister that puts effort into trying to be in the world again, a kind and loving girl that will always care about us, a guy that maybe isn't the nicest or the best, but that indeed shows his true form without fear, and a girl that endure his past, overcome those hardships and now wants to take the world and prove herself. And I just want to be with them all the way, sharing their goals and my own goals as well. Obviously having our mascot, our core team member. Those would be my family.
After spending over 100+ hours on this game by getting to know these characters, investing so much time and effort into building them up, I didn't realize how much of an emotional investment I put into these game characters. Saying goodbye to all of them at the end of the game was like saying goodbye to my friends in real life. Each and every confidant and Phantom Thief's goodbyes were supposed to be positive, but I cried at every one of them. It just shows you the level of writing involved in this story and how close Joker was with them all.
Fun fact: If you go back to the Protein Lovers Gym after completeing Ryuji's confidant during the goodbyes, you'll meet Ikeda-senpai again and you can greet him with, "What's bonkin'?" That line had me dying. Great to see that throwback to the confidant and making a goodbye to a small side character seem meaningful. Props to Atlus.
I just love the minor changes & little additions they've added in Royal in these goodbyes. Fully voiced goodbyes, Kaoru appearing next to Iwai, new quotes (though I wished they kept the old quotes fully voiced), exploring places to see Mika, Kawanabe, & about Akechi's disappearance.
Not only Kaoru, Kawanabe and Mika. Eiko was in the Ginza Line, Takaoka and Naoshi were next to the school saying that they'll care of Ryuji in your absence, the kids from Shinya's confidant next to the arcade and Kazukuma actually playing fair in the arcade in Shibuya, Takemura (Okumura's second man at hand) in Kichijoji, the grandma and the father and girl that are Takemi's patients, Yokoda and the other ex-believers of Chihaya, Councilman Matsuhita next to Yoshida. God, maxing everyone out really paid off at the end.
For me, Sumire's goodbye hit hard. I love that they kept it so simple and short. It felt way more dramatic this way. No goodbye was meant to be final, especially Sumire's. The only thing bugging me was her looks resembling Kasumi's way too much. I have no problem with her wearing the hair tie/bow, but she looked exactly like she did during her Kasumi-imitation-phase. I wished they would've incorporated the hair tie/bow somehow different, as an hommage rather than the imitation of Kasumi. Anyway, even though some changes in Royal bugged me (ESPECIALLY the new opening, it sucks SO much compared to the original omg), I really prefer the true ending in Royal. It is so realistic and that makes it even more emotional. This game went so deep on so many levels with different topics, a true masterpiece.
I agree. For some reason, people tend to forget that they were being followed by police. So there was no reason why they would intimately embrace. This ending works out for either the romance or no romance option with Sumire because in order to not draw added attention/suspicion to themselves, acting like mere acquaintances was necessary in that moment. Sumire obviously knew he was leaving and it was obvious that she was there to send Ren off, otherwise what other reason would she be there?
Akira/Ren rescued Sumire from her guilt and out of the lie Maruki fed her. Thanks to Akira/Ren, Sumire is no longer living a lie and is now much happier.
I don’t want to feel sad at this point of the game but man it really does make you feel like you’re saying goodbye to real people you care about. All who have beautiful things to say too that tug on my heart strings man while listening to some of the most beautiful music.
You’re missing out on some of the goodbyes. You can say farewell to other NPC that were involved in your life and confidants such as the girl Takemi treated, the old man at second hand shop in Yongen, flower shop owner, info lady in Kichijoji, Lala-chan, Akiyama, etc. it’s the small goodbyes like this that hits hard as you never realised how much your life has been enrich trough the past year.
This hurt me emotionally. I loved every second of Persona 5, truly. The Characters, the Designs, the Story, the Soundtrack, no matter what happens, I’ll never forget this game. I know I beat the game so damn long ago, but everytime I either sit through these farewells, or watch a video of them, it kinda reminds me of my very first playthrough. And I’ll never forget it.
I still have watery eyes during this part... Very emotional moment... Sunset Bridge hits hard. Amazing track. Cant really wait for P6. My most awaited game.
I'm not even going to lie when Futaba said "thank you for everything" that hit the hardest for some reason because she evolved so much from the first meeting to now
Maruki's farewell was well done. Also just happy he lived to the very end. Sumire's, however? Heavily pushed as the canon romance and not even as much as a hug goodbye. Atlus botched her farewell HARD.
Orga777 his character has made them a ton of money at this point, I’m confident they’ll bring him back some way. 26:19 may have been teasing something?
Who knows, he might appear in a spin-off game like Persona 4 Arena. It continued the story after the main story but before the epilogue for its respective game.
I really don't get Atlus' mindset when doing this game. They did so much extra stuff to make the original game better, with gameplay improvements, more free time, and voiced dialogue, yet they don't voice any of the third awakening scenes. They put Sumire practically everywhere in the story just to make her playable in the last 10% of the game and hardly say anything to the protagonist as he leaves. I just don't get what their priorities were when making this game.
Look at p4 arena..its non canon..but seeing everyone after the p4g/p4 story ..feels like it is sequel of p4 and p3 cast...maybe they create a chance for new stuff?
Ikr, just because Sumire and Kasumi are sisters - the 2 you meet are the same person, just Sumire trying to live life as Kasumi (Thanks to manipulation by Maruki making her unaware of this)
@@fierytigergaming8112 So you mean to tell me that the manipulation effect kicked in out of the blue even though she had come to terms with her identity as Sumire? I smell bullshit
You misunderstood: I was referring to how Sumire was initially under the impression that she was Kasumi, when I said about the manipulation effect. I was trying to say that even though the full "Faith" Arcana was titled as Sumire, it was originally named "Kasumi"
I like it. As she said at 34:00 , she just wants to keep moving forward. She doesn’t need some over dramatic goodbye. It’s a bittersweet ending because while the protagonist will see her again, we won’t. I love it.
I am literally at this part of the game and crying. Such a long beautiful journey. And after strikers with P6 around the corner Maybe we will never See again the Phantom Thieves. It really brakes my heart
If I was joker I’d cry and probably be depressed not living with them, even though they can visit it just doesn’t feel good to me. I got attached to all the characters…except Akechi.
You too, hu? In akeshi hate i mean. When he joined my party, i was looking at his persona like: so, 2 elements, AND one almighty attack? He should be good. He failed the next 5 attacks in a row, now he is designated permanent bench warmer
Sunset Heights and all of these goodbyes. I love royals goodbye so much more because you see what everyone will do and what goals they want to achieve. It becomes for a much more fulfilling moment when you complete all the confidants and get everything and it’s like every single character has grown up in their own way and because they tell you what they want to do, it’s a much more releasing feeling and you’ll know everyone will be okay. The credits anime scene seeing the main cast doing their own thing makes it even more beautiful. Ryuji getting back to track and moving away to help rehab, Ann going further into her modeling career and studying abroad for a few months, Futaba growing out of being a hermit and going to highschool, Sae helping Makoto move into a new place and makoto going to college, Gary going to college and starting her new coffee business and Yusuke continuing his art path. Not to mention how Maruki was giving us a chance to live the reality we all wanted and they decided to reject it knowing they would never truly mature and grow. This ending forever feels sad but you know you will see them. The ending song giving us pure sadness and realization that yes bad things will happen and suffering will happen but we must grown and move on. I know strikers gave us a cameo of sae when I went insane over, but I would love to see all of the other characters make a return as well. Atlus, y’all are something else for letting us say goodbye to Sumire the way we did…..
This is just me, but it makes me sad that you meet all your friends for a year and then you have to leave. From my perspective, it brings tears to my eyes to say "goodbye" to a person I made memories with.
apparently all the same. only the difference is the beginning of the game, there are characters that add up, and the last boss only. but salute the people who have finished playing it.
ZAMHARIR FEBRIAN Yeah I feel like I’m in the the minority. All I see are people saying this is a completely new experience...it really isn’t. I played through the original three times so I ended up skipping most of the dialogue in this one. The palaces were supposed to be completely changed. Only a few tweaks to show off the grappling hook. And the poster girl? You can cut her out of all of the scenes before the doc changed things and nothing would be different. She always felt like a third wheel rather than a new character. And don’t get me started on the random bs ending. What happened to friends sticking together? Everyone leaves and not even a proper goodbye in the animation...overall this could of easily been dlc for $30 for the original.
I still stick by the $60 Price bc of all the gameplay changes (Being able to itemize more than once a day, new personas, balancing the moves a bit more (Ex: Swift Strikes getting nerfed and making ailments a more useable tactic), and especially making the DLC for P5 Vanilla free for P5R as well as a bonus for playing P5 Vanilla). All these makes the $60 tag worth it. SPOILERS BELOW: However, I also agree that the story changes were underwhelming as all hell. While Kasumire has many aborable moments and I love her dates, her “I don’t agree with the phantom thieves” adds up to absolutely nothing, you only get her for one palace, you only get her third stage persona for one battle, she’s not even in the scenes where the phantom thieves send the calling card to shido or fight Yaldabaoth (neither is Maruki). Honestly she’s kind of a hypocrite when she says that people shouldn’t rely on the phantom thieves and work through their own problems when she literally wants to be someone else to solve her problems. The ending also sucks. While I do like the fact we see Joker leave everyone, the way they said goodbye just sucked. At least in P4G everyone had a heartfelt goodbye and MC leaves on a train. Where was that in this game? I’m not even in the mood to do a NG+ Playthrough bc the ending just isn’t worth it for me like it was in Vanilla. I’d also like to add that after Sae’s palace, I legit forgot Maruki existed and that Kasumire existed after Shido’s palace. The Moment I got to the bonus palace is when I was like “Oh right you’re in this game, silly me”. Honestly why couldn’t Kasumire just help out with Shido and Yaldabaoth. THEY OVERHYPED HER AS ALL HELL. She barely gets any interactions with the other phantom thieves too which saddens me.
Weeb Boi the ending is what did it for me as well. I loved replaying the original game because I enjoyed the ending. It really took my motivation away knowing how they all just leave. Especially since I romanced Ann and she literally moves across the world lol. It would be fine if the dialogue hinted at her thinking about leaving, but it just came out as random.
Courtlin 00027 yea I know what you mean. Again, I like how it shows Joker leaving bc it shows everyone is moving on, but it pisses me off bc of how few lines everyone had. It just made all that relationship building feel pointless. Another note is that you literally have to rush maxing out Sumire in a month. The progression just feels rushed. You barely play with her first stage persona (I don’t know how to spell the actual name) compared to the rest of team and even less time with the second and third stage persona. Why didn’t they give us both January and February for the third semester? It felt so short. Honestly this entire third semester just felt shoved into the game since the progression from Adam Kadmon to the whole “Get Joker our of prison” scene felt unnatural. And another sad realization I had is that for first time players who don’t know how to unlock the third semester, literally won’t be able to use Kasumi. The character that is at the center of this game and probably won’t be useable by most first time users who don’t figure out how to unlock the third semester. What is this game design? Smh. Edit: Sorry for the long comments I just really want to vent on how disappointed I am with the story changes.
Weeb Boi it’s fine I need to vent as well lol. I noticed when you unlock the 3rd version personas each character gets a skill card logo that goes into them. Not sure if this happens with the first 2 transformations but I was thinking in new game plus we could start out with the final versions with their new op moves they gain...I was wrong. I was also hoping that we would unlock the final semester outfits to put on for new game plus. I liked the trench coat joker got. Oh well maybe it will be future dlc that we have to buy.
They'll probably do group vid calls though, since Ryuji will be in Rehab and Makoto and Haru in College, but I believe in a few years they'll meet up regularly in Haru's Cafe
Yusuke: "Your life is no worse for its own scars. Your truest beauty lies in them, and I hope you tell me their stories one day." Yusuke is my favourite character. He has that oblivious streak, yet he says some seriously profound things that just hurt me. It fits for being an artist with his upbringing. Maybe it just fits him because he is an artist.
I gotta say when I first played through, I didn't notice the Akechi scene in the final cutscene. It wasn't until I had been done with the game for months and I was watching these videos I first saw it. Good times learning the bastard may be alive after all.
21:35 Chihaya: "...Well, if you're the one saying that then it must be true..." *5 minutes later* Chihaya: *Reads her future* Her fortune: you are going to die... Chihaya: .__.
I still cry at this. It's so difficult to say goodbye to the great cast of characters I got to spend the game with. But I can never have the first experience ever again. This is harder than the new game plus bosses change my mind.
I finished yesterday and was mostly disappointed in the end scene along with missing the Sumire dialog goodbye. The goodbyes were well done for the others and splitting up was fine but they could've included a goodbye party scene with everyone before and the ending would've been better if they took a group photo at the train station and maruki shows up to get them all together like in the bad ending but he says the same lines in the car scene with his change of heart idk that wouldve had more emotion. A scene with Sumire outside LeBlanc before he leaves also would have more emotion than the dry/horrible take care we all got
"You probably had tons of crazy fights I don't even know about, right?" Akiren: Killing the reaper in a single hit with a persona whose name can't even fit in the space given.
I liked the old ending better, something about the fact that we get a bit of banter between the thieves as the game ends makes it a lot more heartwarming
I literally just finished this through for the first time! And I’m jot even ashamed to admit that I legitimately cried saying good bye to everyone Ann really got me Just realised Futaba says try not to cry haha 😂 fuck this game was a masterpiece 🔥
yeah, it was the same for me. Well there are more P games than just one and they all have a great cast of characters and story writing, although a bit outdated mechanics and gameplay of course. And although I loved and played p5R I still like P3 FES more than 5 in terms of story progression and cast but this is highly subjective of course. If you haven't played them already and you aren't afraid of some "retro" action get a good emulator and play P3 FES or p4G since that game is already on Steam and can literally run on any potato PC. 👍
In p6 I want to see a new generation of persona users, but then a cutscene us played out later in the game where a guy walks into leblanc and asks for a cup of coffee, but when (old) sojiro turns around he stops what he is doing and focuses his eyes to find out its joker (adult).
15:00 Tatsuya wanted to be a detective in the force, Akihiko wanted to be a cop, Chie wanted to be a cop, and now Makoto wants to be a police commissioner. Bro why does everyone in the Persona universe end up in the police force? Lmao.
NGL. I wouldn't be able to do it IRL. I've been through so much with these guys and now I have to tell each and every one of them in leaving. Nah, I'd rather fight Yalbadoth 1v1
Seeing this honestly makes me hope that they do more with the phantom thieves, out of all the person main protagonists, “joker” was my fave, and it made me sad to see this end.
Well I just finished it for the first time and even though it bothers me that I wasn't able to complete all the confidants, I still felt this ending. It was an incredible story that really made me reflect, especially seeing how each one took their own path. I will definitely miss this world and its characters and I'll probably play some spin-off like Strikers just to see them again. By the way, the credits music made me want to cry haha another game that caused me something similar was RDR2

“I’ll never forget you, Ryuji.”
All of the Phantom Thieves are great, but other than Morgana, Ryuji was with you from the beginning.

This just dawned on me, but Jokers parent's never contacted him once for the entire year he was living with Sojiro. Awful parents.
Not that we saw. We weren't privy to every minute of Joker's life. Of course, the real reason we the player don't hear from his parents is because they are supposed to be surrogates for your own parents, just as Joker as a surrogate for you.
@@bjhale Yeah but
We didn’t see it. And they probably didn’t.
@@callmepsycho3132 also, they never visited him.

That annoyed the hell out of me....
Agreed I went for her route and jeebus! That's all!?!?!
@Boredsleepydude Lazy too Definitely agree.
I literally came here to check this because I was confused about Sumire not showing up on the map despite having maxed her out

Logically, I understand that, but seeing everybody walking down their own paths and seeing the end credits still heightened the emotional impact...
That's what Scramble is for haha
Scramble is not even canon.
It would have been interesting if Akechi gave Joker his left glove, so in the ending you can see Akechi walking and his left is exposed.
ThePsychoGamer 13 idk if this is what you mean but in 34:55 akechi passes by. Its most likely jokers imagination buts its still kinda cool
A really cool detail is how when Ameche passes u can hear ping pong playing as if he’s remembering the times they spent together talking and playing it
Quinn sorry, but first it was pool, and second that’s footsteps
Sojiro is a nice guy, he's the best father anyone could ever have

The post-game depression is real with this one, I invested 130 hours on this game and saying goodbye to everyone does hurt me deep inside...
Plus they were both developed side by side so why wouldn't the scramble team know about Royal's story
It's similar to Persona 4 arena which came out before Golden but is technically a sequel to the Golden version as Persona 4 Arena Ultimax confirms this
@@soulwarfare42 Other than that reference, it does not acknowledge the true end of Royal.
Atlus should let us say goodbye to Kasumire change my mind.
So if we start a new game plus does that technically mean, we do not keep the ultimate persona of the faith Arcana
Edit: ( I just realized that Akechi had a spot for me to say goodbye at, and I did not do it *sigh*)
@@philipboes1100 I mean you can just play the game again
They should really patch in a goodbye or something
They need to. Especially with how bad she was portrayed in the ending. Felt robbed by not getting a scene with her
like at the ending of the final boss with the fire thing but only of you romanced kasumire you could like press x or goodbye and the dialogue would be “I love you” instead of the “Checkmate”
"Take care."
Allow me to spill my guts for a second: Every time I've thought of this moment since beating Royal two weeks ago, my heart clenches up.
Nevertheless, she will always be a memorable character from persona series for me.
sephronnine ^this
I agree with this, Ethel said the they will be on the top together so it’s safe to assume that they will meet up again not that far off into the future.
I think her romance should have been erased with the whole other world.

Persona 5 is gonna be five years old next year....
Honestly when the owner mentioned being worried about Akechi and combines with Joker thinking “but Akechi’s already…” make my heart ache.
In the romance route (if you wish to choose) she says "though it may not be for awhile". So it's goodbye to the Phantom Thieves but NOT to Sumire.
Seeing her (the last person) at the station before departing is still cool and emotional yes, too bad her "take care" remains lame and kinda ruins the touching moment.
THANKS YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING. This guy gets it. Couldnt have said it better myself

I feel you ;-;

Ren meeting with the Jazz Club manager is so depressing for me oh my god. Also the fact that Ren still keeping Akechi's glove :(
After spending over 100+ hours on this game by getting to know these characters, investing so much time and effort into building them up, I didn't realize how much of an emotional investment I put into these game characters. Saying goodbye to all of them at the end of the game was like saying goodbye to my friends in real life. Each and every confidant and Phantom Thief's goodbyes were supposed to be positive, but I cried at every one of them. It just shows you the level of writing involved in this story and how close Joker was with them all.
Fun fact: If you go back to the Protein Lovers Gym after completeing Ryuji's confidant during the goodbyes, you'll meet Ikeda-senpai again and you can greet him with,
"What's bonkin'?"
That line had me dying. Great to see that throwback to the confidant and making a goodbye to a small side character seem meaningful. Props to Atlus.
Yhea, and you can find Aiko in Ginza line. In my party I ve enter on Protein Lovers too
I just love the minor changes & little additions they've added in Royal in these goodbyes. Fully voiced goodbyes, Kaoru appearing next to Iwai, new quotes (though I wished they kept the old quotes fully voiced), exploring places to see Mika, Kawanabe, & about Akechi's disappearance.
I laughed at Mika's comment about Ann - 5 minutes later I muttered "Yeah, Ann's leaving, so keep tryin''"
Fiery Tiger Gaming
No matter how many writers simp for the waspface, her fall will come...
I can't believe they added all those things and still managed to fuck up sumire, wtf atlus

@@fierytigergaming8112 Point taken. And My apologies
Sojibro sound like he's going to cry... my heart can't take it...
Yusuke stealing my heart aswells oh my gods
Yusuke best boy/girl honestly
If I was joker I’d cry and probably be depressed not living with them, even though they can visit it just doesn’t feel good to me. I got attached to all the characters…except Akechi.
You too, hu? In akeshi hate i mean.
When he joined my party, i was looking at his persona like: so, 2 elements, AND one almighty attack? He should be good.
He failed the next 5 attacks in a row, now he is designated permanent bench warmer
Sketchy Akechi.
Yusuke: Sketchy Akechi, you say? My word, what splendid idea. I think I'll draw a-sketchi.
Very bittersweet
I'd like to think they kept up with each other while following their dreams
Yusuke’s goodbye was beautiful
This ending was fine, but I still prefer the ending to P5 honestly.
I_Am _Scorpio I guess it feels more like an ending, while this one opens more for scramble.
Hey but seeing Akechi could be still alive is amazing! Right???
@@ViperDivinity yeah it was kinda cool. Even if it seems like he still wants joker dead 😂.
Yeah, P5 ending had more closure I feel.
Everyone together in the car, with Wake Up Get Up Get Out There playing on the radio, cant beat those feels.
@@Raydnt69 indeed
Kasumi looks adorable in the ending cutscene
This is just me, but it makes me sad that you meet all your friends for a year and then you have to leave. From my perspective, it brings tears to my eyes to say "goodbye" to a person I made memories with.
Awwww, I Wish You Could Say Goodbye To Akechi As Well, But Oh Well Guess It's Can't Be Done Cause He's Gone
Equestrian Magic Not really, In the end it shows his lower body but we don't know but ether way, He is probably still out there some shape or form
Is he tho
Well Whatever It Is, I Still Hope He Comes Back In A New Game
Yeah me too having him playable again was 90% of why I bought royal, and it didn't disappoint!
@@CanOfDarkFruit Same
It kinda hurts, but in a bittersweet way. Everything must end one day or another...
apparently all the same. only the difference is the beginning of the game, there are characters that add up, and the last boss only. but salute the people who have finished playing it.
SPOILERS BELOW:
However, I also agree that the story changes were underwhelming as all hell.
I will always believe that the phantom reunite one time for month to have fun and remember their journey.
They'll probably do group vid calls though, since Ryuji will be in Rehab and Makoto and Haru in College, but I believe in a few years they'll meet up regularly in Haru's Cafe
Yusuke: "Your life is no worse for its own scars. Your truest beauty lies in them, and I hope you tell me their stories one day."
Yusuke is my favourite character. He has that oblivious streak, yet he says some seriously profound things that just hurt me. It fits for being an artist with his upbringing. Maybe it just fits him because he is an artist.
When you went to Untouchable, Joker has look at the corner where was door to cell. That tiny detail almost made me cry.
Damn, onion cutting personas.
I gotta say when I first played through, I didn't notice the Akechi scene in the final cutscene. It wasn't until I had been done with the game for months and I was watching these videos I first saw it. Good times learning the bastard may be alive after all.
21:35
Chihaya: "...Well, if you're the one saying that then it must be true..."
*5 minutes later*
Chihaya: *Reads her future*
Her fortune: you are going to die...
Chihaya: .__.
Yeah... poor Miyu...
I'm not sure why, but the part that always makes the tears start coming for me is the taxi ride with Maruki
That's strange, Lavenza wasn't there to say goodbye. She was there when I said goodbye to everyone.
"You probably had tons of crazy fights I don't even know about, right?"
Akiren: Killing the reaper in a single hit with a persona whose name can't even fit in the space given.
Fuck it we Concentrate, Fuck it we Myriad Truths
-Izanagi no Okami Picaro, Probably
The bgm sounds so sad tho. But actually means a happy ending. Like it gives a mixed feeling
Every confidant you max feels like you've made a new friend, and in some cases, a new love.
I liked the old ending better, something about the fact that we get a bit of banter between the thieves as the game ends makes it a lot more heartwarming
Tbh this game is so long and talking to all these people they basicly give you life stories from the adventure you had with them.
Kinda sad there is no kasumi meeting
Who’s knows if Akechi is still alive, even though we only get to see him at the window of the train station. 34:57
Dude atlus wants money; ya know what gives em money? P5. Ya know what else gives em money? Akechi. So we'll see our detective siciopath prince.
I literally just finished this through for the first time! And I’m jot even ashamed to admit that I legitimately cried saying good bye to everyone Ann really got me
Just realised Futaba says try not to cry haha 😂 fuck this game was a masterpiece 🔥
yeah, it was the same for me. 👍
24:18 - Well, you're in luck then because it just so happens that Ann is moving away
Spoiled waspface.
ok fangrock channel
Me: aw, this is feelsy.

Me: *thinks of p3 for some dumb reason*
No ending in the Persona games is as sad as that. Well, the modern ones at least.
_kaze no koe hikari no tsubu_
In p6 I want to see a new generation of persona users, but then a cutscene us played out later in the game where a guy walks into leblanc and asks for a cup of coffee, but when (old) sojiro turns around he stops what he is doing and focuses his eyes to find out its joker (adult).
P7
@@Coco-by8qs P7???
15:00 Tatsuya wanted to be a detective in the force, Akihiko wanted to be a cop, Chie wanted to be a cop, and now Makoto wants to be a police commissioner. Bro why does everyone in the Persona universe end up in the police force? Lmao.
This part of the game wrecked me so bad, i didnt want to max any relationships on my next playthroughs
I imagine Akira being a politician in the future tbh, specially after No good tora/Yoshida guiding him. It's the most possible occupation to me imo
32:00 I perfer the ending in the anime the Morganna sabotage those guy car
I genuinely thought I’d stopped crying after the full day of saying goodbye. Sojiro wiping the tears from his eyes quickly proved me wrong.
NGL. I wouldn't be able to do it IRL. I've been through so much with these guys and now I have to tell each and every one of them in leaving. Nah, I'd rather fight Yalbadoth 1v1
I'M WITH YOU
Ryuji's one is so sweet
Seeing this honestly makes me hope that they do more with the phantom thieves, out of all the person main protagonists, “joker” was my fave, and it made me sad to see this end.
I hope they make him the teacher of the new Phantom Thieves in P6, whenever that is
There's also special dialogue if you interact with the cafe (yes, the building) where you and Akechi went
As well as an...Interesting song if you complete the correct Mementos request in the Third Semester
Fiery Tiger Gaming really? Which one?
Oh nevermind you mean He‘s a Trickster Right?
Yep, the song which it's impossible to keep a straight face at
God I still cry at this part 😢😢😢
I really love how much Kaoru and Shinya look up to Akira/Ren like a big brother it’s so cute I swear 🤧
16:06 Oh Kawakami, if you only saw the one holding the controller..
You come into a new town with a train, and you leave it again with a train.
Like in P4 and (sort of R.I.P.) in P3.
I bet its going to be the same with P6.
