Oh wow... was only $26 when I ate there 6 months ago. Highly recommend the BK Jani burger for only $20 w/ fries or $16 by itself. A very different twist but so, so delicious.
It’s expensive because beef prices have increased and the location of NYC by nature is also expensive. If it was in another city it probably would have been maybe $22.
I really loved the Emily burger... would recommend eating it in restaurant. The fries were plenty crispy and the presentation was lovely. That said, absolutely in love w/ the BK Jani burger and keep on going back there. I normally love cheese + caramelized onions on burgers but there's something about this... it seems oddly healthy and spicy, and the quality of the beef creates a really intoxicating treat.
UA, well done! Very good review. I appreciated all your input. You are getting very good at this. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to your next review.
I can only imagine if that burger and fries were hot and in the restaurant. I think hot food that's eaten piping hot makes so much of a difference. That should be a criteria in my opinion but I do know its not always possible.
Another awesome review! Will try this place next time I am in NYC. I like the burger joint in the Thompson Central Park Hotel. Use to stay there for work and consistently good late night dinner.
so you went to Emily West Village which has the Emily double stack burger which does come with waffle fries; the Emily Brooklyn location has the Emmy burger which is a different burger as it has Emmy sauce which contains gochujang and comes with regular style fries
I'm from Poland I live in NJ . I just want to say maybe you could try some polish food like bigos, pierogies, gołąbki and soups like grochowa or rosol ( broth) by the way I really love your videos . I love the way you always give some history of the place that you go and way you describe i also like it. This really helps me imagine how the food really is. Thank you another great video !
If you ever traveled to Penang, Malaysia, try the Ramly burger. They made their name as a cheap burger push cart stand, but has elevated their status with some crazy burgers.
Imo most I would spend on a “gourmet” burger is $20 and that is usually at a gastropub or mom and pop burger shops are usually a little less than that. $30 is just highway robbery
In Australia, that kind of pinkness inside a burger would totally freak someone out.....generally! But i love a medium rare steak, so i'd love to try this style of burger! But, in Oz, you generally dont get a choice on how the burger is cooked!
I was gonna recommend Minetta Tavern as the best burger I’ve had in NY, but I see that you’ve already done that and I’m gonna watch your video next. Also, and this flies somewhat under the radar, the burger at Peter Luger, which you can only get at lunch or sitting at the bar, is fantastic and still worth the recommendation even tho the steak isn’t what it once was
@@chaostheory16 it’s not mid. It’s an excellent steak. It’s just that it isn’t worth all of the hassle (cash only, in Brooklyn, menu is limited, waiters surly) when you can get a steak that’s as good if not better at Benjamin, Wolfgang’s, Sparks, Old Homestead, etc. without leaving the island
So much time passed between when you took it out and ate it because you were doing the video on the french fries it must be cold and congealed by now the burger.
Ok....you just said Minetta's Tavern kicked you out, but on the MT video, you said they didn't kick you out...just told you to stop recording. So which was it?
I liked the burger here but thought the pizza was definitely better. The burger was as you said, super heavy and just buttery. I know eating out is unhealthy but this burger was far too much for me. I doubt I will ever eat it again but it was worth trying once
Nice review, honestly it looks like a snobby place and more of a burger that looks like everyone that gives it a thumbs up does so to fit in with the current in group. Putting that much cheese on anything is going to make it taste good.
Will have to try. haven't had, but i did have Au Cheval and man, that's a reaalllyy good burger. minetta was ok, not worth the hype IMO. but Au Cheval lives up to it. have to Emily on my "to do"

I really love your reviews 🇦🇺👍💖 But i dont go on the love of this burger at all .id never eat a pattie underdone ever . Meats been exposed to blades in the grind process, there for bacteria which needs to be cooked out .its not a steak . I love a salad on a bun this is nothing special for me ,glad others like it .cheers.
🙄🙄$30 for A BURGER YA'LL CAN KEEP THAT SHIT‼️‼️‼️lookin all raw 🙄🙄 , ID rather spend $50 on four huge steak tips that comes with fries and salad then a burger
Chick-fil-A used your likeness in one of their commercials one said this is the gold standard of chicken sandwiches but he said it just like how you would have said it
The cheese looked amazing but if I ate a burger that rare I would want a doc to check me for worms soon after. I think it was still moving in the container.
The fries might have been frozen, not homemade. Also if I pay that kinda money, I should be able to have it cooked the way I want. And it would never be that rare.
So this is like the 10th burger you have stated is the best ever. Which means that we just can't believe anything you say when you do that. PS - all the food at the Emily group of restaurants is overhyped and overpriced.
Burger looked too raw inside. I see why they don't let you specify how you want it done. This way you can't return it if it's done wrong and slow them down.
Total waste of a review! If you don’t eat in the restaurant, it’s bullshit! Takeout and delivery is nothing like actually sitting down in a restaurant. This review is a total complete waste of time!

Another awesome review! Will try this place next time I am in NYC. I like the burger joint in the Thompson Central Park Hotel. Use to stay there for work and consistently good late night dinner.
I'll have to try it sometime!
Food is always much better when you have it piping hot serve to you at the table in the restaurant.
You're absolutely right!
French fries always get ruined in a closed box im not sure why they still do that with all the to-go orders i just had it happen to me
Gotta slit the box open so steam gets out, & they stay crispy
Yeah fried foods don't last well to go
UA without the cap !!! Looking suave ❤
Thanks!
Just a suggestion, I found if you open the cover of fries, or even vent the top, they stay crisper and they don't start steaming.

Definitely one of my favorite burgers. I used to live in Stuytown and would citibike down to emily’s west village for this

That is a Quality Burger for sure, even Burgers expensive in the Village.
All you need to give a good review of a burger is the placenta between a bun. If it's red, it's by definition a good or great burger.
