It's interesting to walk on Itaewon's main street in the rain, but the residential area in Itaewon is a pure old town, just like a narrow maze that may lead to nowhere. As apartment-oriented redevelopment is taking place at a rapid pace in Korea, it is a rare neighborhood these days.

비를 맞으며 이태원의 메인 스트리트를 걷는 것도 흥미롭지만, 이태원의 주택가는 순수한 올드 타운으로, 어디로 이어질지 모르는 좁은 미로와 같아 매우 흥미롭다. 한국은 빠른 속도로 아파트 중심의 재개발이 이뤄져, 요즘엔 보기 드문 동네인 것이다.
마음 가는대로 길을 선택하고 꼬불꼬불한 길을 걷는다. 다음 코너를 돌면 어떤 모습이 펼쳐질지 전혀 가늠할 수 없다. 낯선 이들과 마주치기도 하고, 동네 꼬마들을 만나기도 하다. 이따금 막다른 골목에 다다르기도 하지만, 살기 위해선 우리들은 이 미로를 빠져나가야만 한다.
만약 당신이 이태원을 찾게 된다면 그 작은 모험을 추천하고 싶다. 나쁘지 않은 신선한 경험이 될 것이다.
