- I walked around in heavy rain night.
Kitashinchi, Osaka's upscale entertainment district is quiet on Sunday nights.
A lot of billboards and neon lights are reflected on the rain-soaked road surface, which is a very beautiful sight.
This area, located just south of JR Osaka station, was once an island between the Sonezakigawa and Dojimagawa Rivers, and it was called Sonezaki Shinchi. Now it's called Kita no Shinchi, or simply Kita Shinchi, and it's the most famous nightclub and entertainment district of contemporary Osaka. It's just like Tokyo's Ginza: filled with thousands of high-class bars, clubs and small restaurants where Japanese businessmen entertain their clients. Narrow streets are brightly lit with flashing neon signs and billboards. In the old days this area was where geisha girls delighted their customers with genteel service, dancing and singing, and that is still very much the air that lingers over this whole place.
SUPPLEMENTARY
Like Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Kitashinchi in Osaka has been the setting for many yakuza movies and video games such as Ryu ga Gotoku(Like a Dragon).
Location is kitashinchi, next to Umeda Osaka Japan.

As someone who’s walked the rain in Japan before I want that feeling back. The feeling that I was finally free and happy. The feeling of relief. It was soothing and it was surprisingly fun to walk through the markets in the rain at night.

For some reason, I get this warm, happy, nostalgic feeling every time I see something about Japan. I don't know why but I just d. I'm glad I'm graduating in a couple of months because it brings me closer to the date of going to Japan and studying there.

I love this country, it is so beautiful! I want to go to high school here for my last 2 years and learn the language. It has been really hard but I am going to keep going. If anyone has any tips on how to learn Japanese within before next summer please tell me or just even a like would be awesome so I can keep going. I am trying so hard and I can't give up. You know what is so good about walking down a poorly lit street at night, in the rain? Being Osaka, you are 99% likely to return to you stay with the contents of your wallet intact and with fond memories of those you might meet on the way. I didn’t go out of a night because I didn’t realise how safe it was and also because I was rather tired from my daytime travels; next time I intend to do more nighttime sightseeing

Nice video, loved Osaka when I was in Japan. Did you strap your camera to your chest while walking or did you hold it entirely for 4 hours?
Thank you! The camera was handheld and the shoot lasted about an hour. Heavy rain lasting four hours is a rare situation in Japan, so I was asked to create a long rainy video so that viewers could sleep, so I edited the video on a loop. I use a hand-held camera because I have no freedom in composition when I hold the camera in place.

There are many people working without being native Japanese speakers, but I think it is difficult to work with Japanese people unless you have some level of communication in Japanese. You say Japanese is difficult, but my friend is self-taught and working, so I think you can do it too.

JR Kitashinchi station is close by, but you can also walk there from Osaka Umeda station. That is if you can get out of the difficult Umeda underground labyrinth alive. I suggest you go above ground and walk.
