    This is very informative. I'm on week 5 post hemorrhoidectomy for 3 grade four hemorrhoids. If I would have known years ago surgery was the way to go I wouldn't have spent 15 years suffering and trying different treatments. I'm hopeful that the pain will end and I'll be able to have a normal life soon. Seeing a colorectal surgeon was the best decision I made.

      It's been a year and a half since I had the surgery. It was the worst experience, pain wise, that I've had in my life. And I had two 8lb. babies without pain management! After the 3rd day I had my first bowel movement and I cried, yelled and almost passed out from the pain. This continued for about 6 weeks. I had 3rd & 4th degree hemorrhoids that were constantly bleeding, painful and protruding for years. My doctor warned me about the pain but didn't do enough to provide meds for it. She was concerned about addiction as most doctors are now and only provided enough meds for 4 days. I regret not advocating enough for myself. However, presently I am doing great! I did have a lasting effect from the surgery. If I get just a tiny bit constipated, I bleed and have internal pain for days. I use Calmol 4 for those times. It helps everything slide out and eases the pain. I hope and pray you have the outcome you desire. Despite everything, I don't regret it! Hope this helps you make an informed decision. 🙏

    I’m 11days post op from removing seven Types 3 and 4 hembrrhoidectory. I’m out of prescription pain pills and laying in bed in agony. You are absolutely bed and bath- bound for a good while. Not happy this pain will continue for months! I’ve lost ten pounds since surgery’s realistically looks like I’m going to lose another ten if this pain after BM continues with the same intensity. That is is the only positive point of all this agony. Yes, I’m glad I did it but I pray I never have to go through this agony with another operation. The pain is unbearable even with a pain pill.

  • @Zest4life890
    @Zest4life890 11 месяцев назад

    I have diverticulitis and In order to check and see if you have internal hemorrhoids the patient should get a colonoscopy as I did before I had my internal hemorrhoid banding, I had an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy the same day. This way they can check for cancer, polyps, celiac disease, I had tissue biopsies, thank God, everything is negative before I was to have my internal banding of two hemorrhoid’s , now I am one week of having my hemorrhoid banding. I’m starting to feel a little relief. Although back in November 2022, I had a perforated diverticulitis with an abscess, I saved my life because I was adamant for them to give me a CAT scan and if I had not had a CAT scan I would have had at least 12 to 14 inches of my colon cut because the abscess was infected severely, I was immediately given pain meds and antibiotics in my IV and my white blood cell count was high, which noted an infection and by the next day, my white blood cell count were very low and by the third day I was released from the hospital with my white blood cell count was lower

    and if the bandiing tool isnt big enough, get a bigger banding tool, i have a banding tool in my barn big enough for a pair of sheep testicles, i thinik i can do this myself... grandpa was a vet and i was his assistant for over 20 years, ive castrated thousands of sheep and calves in my day... i think i can handle this...

    Hi Dr. Chug. When I narrow everything down, I'm pretty sure my hemorrhoid happened from straining and constipation. I feel like mine is the size of a penny....also I could be wrong, but I feel like it's either a 2nd or 3rd grade hemorrhoid. It's not painful and doesn't bleed (although I've had times where it did bleed because of rough bowel movements or using too much baby wipes instead of rinsing my butthole right after. TMI sorry but it's real life and the struggle is real and Im trying to be as detailed as possible to get the most accurate response virtually) Not sure if I have and external or internal one though. It's protruding and it sometimes goes back in on its own if I drank a lot of water and if I wasn't constipated. I'm able to push it back in but sometimes it pops back out right away and sometimes it can stay in for a while....
    By all this info I gave you, what do you think it could be?
    I really want to come see you. I want to have a baby with vaginal birth but hesitating because I'm afraid the pushing might make my situation worse and more uncomfortable (which I don't need at all 'cause the process of being pregnant will already be too much to deal with) or the doctor will tell me to do Cesarian because of it and I don't plan to do a Cesarian for my 1st future baby.

    I have a question. I have a grade 2 internal hemorrhoid. I do not strain but the first part of my stool is hard (miralax does the trick) but I got my hems banded twice. No luck. Can I keep getting them banded till they fall off? I was told that straining is what causes my hems to bleed. I really don't strain but the hardness of the stool scrapes the hems causing them to bleed. I can't fix my bowel situation. My digestive tract is messed up from a cdiff infection. My colonoscopy result was good. Any tips or advice? I really do not want surgery.

      Thanks for sharing your story. I agree that your stool texture is causing your hemorrhoid irritation. Its difficult to say what will improve your stool textures as I regularly spend nearly an hour my patients to work on these issues. If you have mixed texture stools, it might be because you have too much fiber on board. I wish you the best.
