Don't throw away the old tensioner. Remove the red seal covering the bearings. Clean out old grease if any left, repac with wheel bearing grease and reinstall. Don't forget to reinstall the bearing cover. 👍
Good tip! Someone pointed out something similar on Tacomaworld about repacking the bearings in the pulley rather than replacing the whole tensioner. In my case, I’m at 200k+ miles and I figured it’s served me well, but perhaps a new tensioner would be better haha
