"dont worry its not a glitch in the game, its a glitch in the animus"
- probably some ubisoft dev
Bruh 🤣🤣🤣
It's a surprise feature
At point I honestly thought that was the point of the game. To be buggy af to show their tech can still be buggy in the future 🤣🤣
Such an original joke :|
that feeling of being the thousandth like
You should add a new rating, "wait for developer to fix"
It's Ubisoft, doesn't need to be said, it's expected.
He does it's called "never buy"
@TommieTech true-ish ... unity was a mess but it turned into one of my favorite assassins creeds after it was fixed
@@REALzackychan Unity has the best combat in the series. The launch permanently ruined it for some people though.
Unbelievable that this has become the norm
These AC games are always wait for a sale, because by then they're patched.
Yep no ubisoft games are worth $60 price tag
@@xiRePeNTx I gotta say I bought it and don't regret it lol, I'm on PS4 pro with the fee upgrade to ps5, runs really well. Have put 100 hours into it. I'm the biggest hypocrite on RUclips lol
@@AudioPhile Hell nah man if you having fun that's what counts. Btw is it better than Odyssey? I finished that game the story was amazing, but the missions were extremely grindy and felt like a chore, is it same in this one?
@@xiRePeNTx it's def a grind fest, lots of missions, but super short. It's my fave AC since the first couple and black flag. But I super dig Vikings..
@@AudioPhile Thanks for the heads up bro, I will probably pick this one when it's on sale plus physical copy price drops hella fast on ubisoft game, imma probably play origins then. Have a nice day :)
Everyone to Valhalla after the messy release of cyberpunk
"Perhaps I have judged you too harshly"
Rahul Vinod I loved this game right from the beginning, I am actually not too critical of Ubisoft in general, I give them credit for trying to please such a variety of gamers with different tastes. Their take over Ghost Recon brand is fantastic. And their general focus on changing linear game design to sandbox experience is very much welcomed.
Cyperpunk is an example of a studio trying to make something above their pay grade. They probably build the foundation in 2014, and spent 6 years just making mechanics and physics functional, that’s why Cyberpunk gameplay and AI feels pre 2010, like close to original AC games.
@@callisto537 nope game started late 2016, and the game was supposed to come out in 2022, yeah I'm surprised too
@@callisto537 They were rushed bro it isnt the Studios fault, its the darn executives who know nothing of games, only of money so they wanted to get the game out at what they believed to be a high point.
@@callisto537 cyberpunk is wayyyy better than ac Valhalla even with the bugs you have awful taste
@@PiOfficial your mother said I make good choices in life. She approves of everything I do, so......
I always wait a year for Ubisoft games so they’re half price and patched!
and you get the cut content since the season pass edition is cheaper.

Half the price will be after 3-4 months not a year I guess
@@theworldismine7788 depends where you buy it
I managed to get AC Odyssey (Gold edition so includes Season Pass and AC3 remastered) for £17 the other day..! Bargain for so much content. I'll do the same for this
Once again ACG is first to the party. What a man what a legend.
not first, but the best :)
This game is amazing. ACG is just garbage at combat

Quickly becoming my favorite reviewer. Never holds back and never pads the video with dumb intros, straight to the point. Love it.
Agreed. Too many RUclips publishers think their 30-60 second graphical intros with bombastic music actually do something positive for their videos. The intros only make the videos worse. If intros are included, they should be 8 seconds or shorter.
“You know this place is rough when this chicks the hottie of the village”😂

no wonder they only want to crush skulls then
The fitties are in the courts and other places.
If your wondering why the music is soo good in this game. Jasper Kyd is back
This makes me more eager to listen to the soundtrack then to play the game!!!
Plus Einar Selvik of Wardruna and he also did music for the 'Vikings' series. - Obvious choice.
@@michaelmonstar4276 Are their Vikings show songs in Valhalla? I hope so
*Jesper
Absolutely love his work on the earlier Hitman Games.
Dude you've become a go to reviewed for me, GREAT JOB! even in cyberpunk case, as soon as I saw you passed it knew smthng was fishy there and did not get it - thanks for taking time and caring on these reviews, really helps save money :D
17:45 most of the “viking.” Feel in combat you are looking for is hidden behind the skill wall. When you get to gear score 80-90 you start becoming a complete power house in combat switching between abilities, weapon moves, and special skill types from the skill tree. One of my favorite would be duel wielding heavy weapons such as spears, two handed axes, or even great swords. ^
Ubisoft releasing two major games (watch dogs legion and Valhalla) at the same time is bonkers. Perfect example of cannibalisation
And neither one apparently being all that good
Lowkey choosing quantity over quality it feels like
I honestly don't understand why they would not wait and polish Valhalla more - typical corporation last quarter idiotic decision making...
syluxassassin I mean they both got good reviews, they just aren’t GOTY material
Think getting Ubisoft+ for the month is the best option rather than spending out on both titles. Just not worth the cost of buying both out right.
You know, I don’t think anyone would be pissed if Ubisoft delayed their games.
Who would notice? They release one every 4 months...
They need to delay the next assassins creed permanently
Yeah think AC is on the end of its life span. The need to focus on something new.
And stop delaying Cyberpunk 😅
@@thecrazyotter4873 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The enemies in odyssey were made of steel. That wasn't very fun. At least in Valhalla they die after a few hits. I prefer that a lot more to the super enemies in Odyssey.

@@JimJohn Yeah it's insanely irritating when you're doing a mission and 3-4 mercenaries come hunting you in AC Odyssey...
@@BillyTheBigKid82 they wouldn't just appear randomly. They come to you because your bounty gauge thing (can't remember what it's called) was high. It was a good system.
There was nothing good about AC Odyssey. So in that sense you're right, the mercenary system was one of its smallest problems.

Does the game jump from viking era and present day? Was not fun in ac4
I heard the series x patch wouldn’t release till tomorrow. Is that true? We’re you playing the series x version or the Xbox One version using back compat?
I'm definitely getting it, I just don't know when. I really like the recent AC games mainly for the exploration and the open world, so I don't think I'll be bothered by the shoddy combat too much.
I’m about 30 hours in, and 20% progress into the story. I have to say I’m really enjoying it!!
I haven’t played AC since AC 3, so I don’t have the fatigue issue. I think the TLDR is, if you’re a fan of the era, it’s VERY easy to forgive issues like combat not being great.
Also the game (graphics, story, music) is so immersive, I just love the feeling it gives me.

For real, that was my first thought.
I hope the day one patch fixes most of the bugs EXCEPT for the “enemy circles you at extremely high speeds” bug
Ubi does this mess every time. Poor optimization for their games and they want us to pay $70 for a buggy game. Screw that!
It’s $60...
@@longjawnsilva8877 for now, but Ubi will make their games $70 once 2021 hits.
@@longjawnsilva8877 and that makes it okay? Or are you just being a needlessly pedantic jackass?
@@Angels510 i am actually surprised prices didnt jump sooner considering an open world game today with todays standards takes a LOOOT more work than an open world game 10 years ago did but while the work to create a game increased the prices seemed to be more or less the same... also its kinda impossible to test every bug in the game so games will always come out with bugs... some more than others (usually devs have a set time window to remove as many bugs as possible rather than remove x amount of bugs)

I think we all knew the review was gonna say "repetitive"
Every game is

every single open world game is repetitive. dont act like witcher 3 is somehow different from this. you either enjoy this kinda games or you dont.
@@LonelyGamr So instead of denying that Ubisoft’s repetitive games are repetitive fanboys are now just claiming all games are as mindlessly repetitive as (INSERT UBISOFT OPENWORLD TITLE HERE) 6?
@Creepy Hair Sniffer gotta agree that witcher 3 is repetitive, hack and slash, hack and slash, but the other elements such as story, visuals, animations, design, characters and mechanics are covering those repetitiveness, if you ignore all of those things then witcher 3 will be just your generic skyrim 3rd person copycat
I feel like “Assassins creed” and “stamina bar” should never have been used in the same sentence.

I think its to make you pick stealth over combat

That music at 7:30 is Sarah Schachner at her finest. Those instruments are in every single score she does, from AC Origins to Anthem. Those soundtracks are incredible. The other Jesper Kyd tracks are amazing too for more nostalgic reasons
BRUH, shoutout The 13th Warrior, that's such an epic movie that never got enough love! :D
Epic movie
The book it was based on was really good
The real Ibn Fadlan was interesting.
Movie had a viking, a 15th century knight, a gladiator and a conquistador fight a Slavic tribe which was known for being travelers and traders, NOT stone age cannibals.

The combat was way more impactful than Odyssey imo, in Odyssey every enemy was a damage sponge. Here enemies don't take me hacking at them to die. Had way more fun with this than Odyssey.
So this game is still wait for sale.
@@nickywan123 All Ubisoft games are. They are the McDonalds of game studios to me: It tastes fine every now and then but it's nothing special and certainly not something I need or want all the time. I wish they would just stop with the annual or bi-annual releases and instead release an absolute banger every 5 years or so. They definitely have the talent, budget and workforce to make great games, they're just always rushing it.
That's good to know. I thought odyssey's combat was dreadful. No feeling of weight behind it and, like you say, health sponge enemies. Couldn't believe it when the review said this was WORSE than that.
@@amysteriousviewer3772 Good analogy. I respect Ubisoft admiration to try something new and creative but the problem is they have good idea or concept but poor execution. Take a look at watch dogs legions.

ME:SoW feels so slow and unresponsive in comparison. That's why I'm going to wait a while on this one.

@@joeyxl3456 I found the entire game and its combat boring as hell. Odyssey was decent, not sure why they'd make it worse, but that's what these companies do just to differentiate the game from the previous.

That's where my mind went after watching this video. I'd have loved to see a heavy focus on the combat. Huge battles, people everywhere, mud in the camera and having to use your shield to block incoming attacks from different angles. You shouldn't even be able to see through the crowd.
Instead it's just a guy sliding around the floor with a wooden axe whilst his opponents throw random attacks while 15m away.

Combat looks way more satisfying in this game than the past two. Decapitations, dismemberment, the enemies actually get flung off the weapons especially with the axes. You never saw that in the prior games.
It's just visual. Combat more or less just consists of mashing the heavy button.
@@johncrafton8319 Combat in the other games wasn't really that great either (Odyssey and Origins). For me usually getting the dlc for the regular price game seems good enough
Which sucks because now they did a mediocre Viking game, which means we won't get another open world viking game from a better developer for a long time. Fing Ubisoft had to steal it.
@@bostontowny4life744 God Of War Ragnarok will make this game irrelevant. lol
They go on sale so quickly because they’re gonna rush the sequel to market anyway. When was the last time they released a game that wasn’t a buggy mess at release?
you're seriously the best reviewer out there thank you i was already skeptical about this game but good to know I should wait to buy....still waiting on a hopeful japanese/ninja return to classics like ac2
One thing i didn't see you bring up in relation to the combat, is that the jank of it is also present in stealth gameplay. I dont know how but Ubisoft managed to make assassinations not fun and less polished than the original Assassins Creed.
0:24 those two came to a peace treaty and danced in the midst of battle.
The only reviewer I actually trust. Thank you for your content :D (Did not expect much from ubisoft :)) )
@Frankie Basile I did not say its the only one I watch, I said its the only one I trust.
I’ve never seen your videos, not even really interested in this game. But this review is such high effort and quality that I’ll be back for more. Well done. Subbed.
Lmaooo best intro ever " back in the 800 where men HA HA HA HA" literally laugh there
A morning review using "taint"? Thumbs up my man!!!!
Ughh after playing ghost I can't go back to AC combat system.
This is my issue, I stuck with oddessey because I love ancient greece.
I don't think I could stick with it for this one.
Ghost is a much better game but i hated the enemy types being tied to stances. The moment to moment combat is much better tho
I did like ghost but I think it was way more repetitive than A.C.
@Jan Rikardsen try playing it first 😒
@@lustrazor44 combat yes
Graphic almost same
Story not at all
Face animation same to same ,so all in all both are similar
I really hope that the glitches and graphical stuff get fixed, this feels like a game to buy in 6 months for half the price when this stuff has hopefully gotten sorted out
I'm still lookiing for AC2 magic to this day. Seems like I won't find it here either.
I can't wait to play this... In six months once I'm done with Cyberpunk and this is cheaper and has been finished with patches.
Ubisoft games are best played well after release.
1:20 skyrim feel IM IN!
better play skyrim my friend, better play skyrim...
You had me at the 13th Warrior reference. Love that movie!
Great review! I love that Ubisoft decided to bring back the settlement missions back in Valhallla. That was something I always remembered and enjoyed from ACIII.

Absolutely loved Dragon Age: Inquisition...personally.
I didn’t, personally.
@Aaron Warrior I wouldn't say he's dumb, I think he's intelligent actually...but I don't agree with his opinion about Inquisition.
@BackdriftNightfall Yeah, I wouldn't call someone dumb and or insult them for not liking something that I do. ACG is one of the best videogame interviewers we have...and he's also witty.
Man I really do miss the assassins vs Templar aspect tbh it was such a cool aspect😭
ikr, ac worked as a franchise as long as it had some sort of conflict to connect the games into one another. Now its 15 minute segments of watch dogs easter eggs in a random(unexplored as a character) chick's laptop
@@niksig5449 man I think my favorite is probably unity the parkour was so cool and it felt refreshing to play co op with friends on missions
@@deathoftheoldme8645 Only thinking about the flow of Unity's entire gameplay loop makes me want to play it right now
Unity is by far the last real AC, exploring a city, the story of the Eden apple and it is and will ever be the last AC with crowd stealth Gameplay and it was the last who performed a crowd ki and it was the last AC with the original graphic engine, unity looked brutal gooood!
@MortalGamerDC1 85 Investigate a bit more on how far the ambition where in unity, not only the architecture, the amount of details in physics, eviromental story telling, and graphics, it was also the last game in the series with that engine cause they decided to move more away from crowd stealth system, yes gameplay as a mechanic was a bit weak but still, unity where on the right way if there weren't a huge change in the game series itself, it just got lost in becoming a repetitive series.
I think the next ac should go back to the ac 3 through rouge combat. Like Shadow of Morder or Ghost of Tsushima style where you're all over the place just slaying people with ease, but it's super badass so it's entertaining.
Great, fair, no bullshit review, and very informative, earned a sub from me! Thank you.
