This and Catechumen both scarred me as a kid but looking back at them, I love them both for how terrifying and weird they were, Saints of Virtue in particular. I know it's not perfect but I consider it a forlorn and cryptid-level masterpiece, somewhere between Yume Nikki, Silent Hill and Museum of Anything Goes Thank you so much for sharing the interview and concept art, as one of the weirdos for whom this game has permanent residence in their head, it is genuinely awesome learning all the behind the scenes stuff for this game!
I love your content and just how high quality it is, i discovered you through your vib ribbon video, and man these a good. As for the game, im not personally religious myself, but a horror based sequal would actually sounds cool (if i didnt have anxiety i would probably play it, but ill just stick to the videos of it)
I found you through the Lego karting video, of which I don't care about the subject and haven't even watched 2 minutes of it lmao, but... Immediately appreciate the way you tell the narrative in these videos. Very rare. Excited to watch more!
Great video! This game might be the first game I ever played and it has stuck with me through the years. A few years ago, I even uploaded a 2-hour video here on RUclips that tries to give possible meaning and context behind many of the elements of the game. At the time, I didn't even consider that talking to one of the developers would be possible. That was so cool to see. I like your idea of making it a horror sequel. I am still a Christian and the idea you brought up of not being able to truly defeat the negative aspects you find is one that sounds compelling. Even with faith, you still go through the full spectrum of human emotion. It can be more disconcerting at times because you know you're not supposed to be prideful or vain, yet it still shows up anyway. I check back on RUclips from time to time to see if anyone has talked about this game but it seems like its still just the two of us aside from a few videos that just dunk on the game for being janky.
Glad you liked it! I actually watched yours in preparation for mine, and I loved your perspective! I can't really speak to the religious angle as much, so I decided to make my video is more gameplay focused unlike yours which is definitely more theology focused. Actually, I tried to reach out to you on Facebook a few months ago to ask some questions, but I never got a reply. (I never use facebook anymore myself, so I didn't take it personally.) I think it was to ask to use some of your gameplay footage, or maybe if you had questions you wanted to ask the devs, can't remember. I eventually recorded my own gameplay anyway to talk about specific areas, so it ended up not mattering. But I'm glad you saw this, and I learned a lot watching yours! Some of the rhetorical questions you had in your video, like the stuff about the 4 chamber heart, the last level feeling rushed, and the enemy design observations you made were questions I specifically thought to ask during the interview. Definitely check out the full 2 1/2 hour version on my Patreon (you have to pledge 2 bucks to access it, then unsub later if you want.)
@@tin_sensei That's so awesome. I hate that I didn't see your messages. I just checked messenger and I don't see anything so I wonder if it got caught up in spam. I'm going to support you and check out the full developer video. It is bizarre that a game like this has any community. If you ever want to do any further exploration of the game and want my input, I'll be more than happy to oblige.
Growing up in Christian environments, having vague memories of surreal and bizzare media is so common and I don't know if I'll ever uncover a fraction of what I remember. To get to talk to the developer of an extremely niche game that holds a special place in your memory is such a cool experience!
If you look at most horror religion-based games (or most religion based analogue horror), a lot of them are probably based on those surreal and bizarre religious based media that the developer may have consumed when they were younger
First off, now I know who Tin Sensei looks like, as I thought the photos of his prior were mock ups or fake. But now I know they're not. Second of all, it gives me this weird feeling that I might have seen it in a shop or someone playing it before, but seeing the game made me feel afraid to even attempt playing it. If I were to see it nowadays, I would give it a try, but even then, going in blindly, it would be a headache if you ask me.

What a cool video about a game I completely would have never heard off!

That's awesome that you were able to talk to the dev of such an obscure project. Loved the video!

thanks for the awesome video and analysis, really enjoyable!
Damn good video. So cool when you can find the sources of obscure bizarre content and shine a light on it.
I love seeing lil videos on obscure topics like this
this is an incredible video, i love it (and I would say stuff like this, but this is kinda unique)
This game was terrifying.
Nice video. Music from 6:28 is The Glasshouse With Butterfly from Machinarium Soundtrack by Tomáš Dvořák. Mr. Handagote follows right after ;)
This unlocked a core memory I had as a kid, thank you so much!
Grew up on this game 😁

Machinarium OST mentioned!
Game is literally pure SOVL.
Oh my God!! This is some MyHouse.WAD levels of obscure extremely passionate doom projects. What a hidden gem of a channel i found.
