- Lovely theme tune by Richard Harvey (Shroud For A Nightingale)...... (Terrahawks). Sung by the lovely June Tabor an English folk singer known for her solo work and her earlier collaborations with Maddy Prior and with the Oyster Band. This is the 45rpm full vocal version used for the 1983 BBC Tv Series Spyship.

Love this song - remember seeing this many years ago. Would love to watch the series again.
As a child in Germany I watched the „Spyship“ series on TV - this song is fantastic! Thank you so much for uploading it. It‘s allmost one o‘clock in the morning, I am sitting in my dark living room, no lights on - just listening to this song. Goosebumps all over my skin, wet eyes…
Ah really pleased it bought back memories for you, music is a very moving, powerful and personal experience. Thank you for your kind words.
Same here. Decades later and a really don't remember the series much, but I never forgot this song and this voice.
Thanks for this. Been waiting for years. June's voice still sends shivers down my spine. Well remember the series. When she sang the intro you could feel the icy sea.
I've been waiting for this one! Shame one cannot find the complete version of the TV-series here on YT.

The best version of this appears on an album titled "Images - 18 Beautiful Instrumentals", with Tabor and the RPO, arranged by Harvey. As far as I know, only available on vinyl.
