Another thing I try to do is stop eating when I sigh. I'm not sure where I read it, but apparently we sigh when we are full. It's not always easy to do it, but I always feel better when I do.
@@jawjuh1005 before I eat, I jist ask myself if I am physically hungry or just want to eat for emotional reasons or because something sounds good. If it isn't actual hunger, I just don't eat...most of the time.
I have been trying to use my non dominant hand to eat which does slow me down. I still find I switch to my dominant hand and start eating faster. I will keep trying.😊
What's fascinating aswell is how certain foods make your body react negatively. I had some pork steaks and the next day i was swollen. My fingers were all puffy. Something i wouldn't have been able to pin point if i hadn't be doing IF.
I have realised over the last few months im addicted to suger i dont touch food in my fast and eat twice a day at eleven and four in the afternoon. So the sweet tooth is a real battle .l have no issues not eating pasta rice pastry potatoes but battling with suger.
Thanks for the great tips. I stand at the counter and graze as I prepare supper, then eat supper and then often will graze some more as I clean up. I’m going to start with your tip of NO distractions. I need to sit to eat. If I’m moving around, cooking cleaning up, I’m distracted. Thank you for breaking that down for me.
Hi Kayla, I am a huge lover on IF protocols. Your videos are so informative and inspiring. In my case, you helped me get through the slow weight loss learning curve closer to my ideal bmi weight and slower the scale moves down. I will never be able to thank you for all your help.
I second this! thank you..have followed your journey on and off. Lately have been using m y fit ness pa l to track cals. Game changer for me. In my life, I was just not counting tons and tons of food. By tracking for a short time I started to realise how much damage I was doing and its made a huge difference. Its a boring 1lbs a week loss but at least its consistent and real. Thanks for sharing this. Really helps!
You probably mentioned this in another video, but I can’t recall if you said you weigh yourself everyday. I think you may do that and then take an average at the end of the week. I know a lot of people that fast do it this way. I have been weighing myself once a week and I am not sure if that is showing me if I am eating too much, as I can’t pin point my meals daily that way.
Yep, I've been weighing myself daily since February 2015. I have a spreadsheet that keeps a running 7 day average. The 7 day average keeps me sane, because my water weight tends to fluctuate. Watching that number's trend over several weeks is what I continue to pay attention to. Keeping a daily journal is really great way to lose weight, but now I can't get back to it so 2/5 fasting bridging the gap hopefully after month that last 1 kilo weight loss I want will occur
I would like to try this but I have to take a medication morning and evening and it says to take with food. Do you have any suggestions for people that take medication that have to eat with?
I just continue to eat throughout the hour. It's ridiculous. I would never eat for an hour continously. But because I'm against the clock i do. I always eat watching the soaps. Do you have a starter main course pudding and snacks in the hour? 😂
@@nancyelizabeth8364 ok cool. How's it going for you? I'm two weeks in. I had a refeed day yesterday and lost more weight this morning. So weird how that works. Ha.

Oh, weird. I'd never heard that. I'm gonna have to pay attention to that now.
Seriously? Is that true? I BET IT IS! I’ve noticed that. Thank you. That’s a great tip!
Now I need some kind of physical que to tell me it’s time to eat. Knowing true hunger is even harder I think.

Love, love, love your video's. So much common sense in these.
Glad you like them!
Thank you for telling us to be patient with ourselves, I am always hard on myself. All of this was great advice, thank you.

Great tips
Since I've started IF, if find that I often eat too much because I'm concerned about 'staying full' until my fast is broken :(
Great tips!
Thank you.

Yes, she weighs herself everyday and puts it in a spreadsheet. She loves data. 😅 Do you have normal scales or body fat etc ones.
@@Themis33 Thank you. I remember that now. Much appreciated..

Also, I've not used body fat scales because (the last time I checked) they tend to be inaccurate. Technology is always advancing, though.

What I do is I have an snack(appetizer) an entree(main meal) and a dessert
Sometimes they are really healthy and sometimes not at all
