Artificial sweeteners & too many carbs will put on weight too. Not everyone can eat what they want at each meal on IF/OMAD; it depends on your metabolic health. 1) Even though an artificial sweetener ir even Stevia are ZERO CALORIES, your brain still sees them as sweets and the glucogensis effect still happens in your body. 2) Being mindful of how many carbs you are consuming per day will help. At first staying under 50 net carbs per day perhaps working to 20 or less per day. If you have diabetes or prediabetic, watching your carbs & sugar intake is imperative. Dr. Eric Berg & Dr. Ken D. Berry here on RUclips are both very helpful in this area.
I'm finding my groove with IF. I tried OMAD but what I found was I need a snack to open my eating window & then a meal a few hours later. I went from 20-4 to 18- 6 works best for me at the age of 65. Im seeing a difference slowly but surely. I'm also walking & gardening too. Thank you Kayla for your videos.
Good tips! I have picked up a few pounds these last few months so this was a good reminder. I’m a reader or TV watcher( or RUclips watcher😊)when I eat, so I need to be more in tune to what I’m eating for sure. Thank you!
Kayla, you are always so inspiring. Thank you! I notice that when I gain weight, it's because I've been snacking and not sticking to my Plan. The Plan works. And, yes, it is a slow process.
Thank you for your videos! They always come to encourage me when I need it most! I reach for your book quite often as well. I appreciate your willingness and faithfulness to share helpful info! I'm working toward losing 40 more pounds. All help is appreciated!!
After watching this, i decided to eat my meal today without any distractions. It felt weirder than I thought it would but it had a great benefit. I am not sure where I read about the technique to stop eating when I sigh (maybe your book or someone else's). Anyways, apparently it is a signal that satiety has been reached. Without external distractions, the sigh was very obvious so I stopped eating and put the remaining food in a container in the refeigerator for tomorrow. Thanks for always putting out such helpful content.
Chewing you food throughly also can reduce the amount you eat. Also you will digest more of the nutrients from your food and you insulin with spike less and more slowly

ive been doing IF and not losing weight.... so i have been confused as to why. but i think it may be because im not being careful of what im eating. SIGH. any tips anyone?
My problem is when I open my window, I do OMAD. I can’t stop eating! I eat dinner, then I’ll have yogurt for dessert, but then I eat everything I can find. Ugh! How can I stop this?
Happens to most people when starting intermittent fasting. I think we feel deprived and just want to make up. I fill up on enough nourishing food first avocado, meat, vegetables. Sugar free greek yogurt with homemade granola and fruits will satisfy the sweet tooth.
I do a protein shake with about 30 grams or more protein and my appetite disappears. I didn't think about it until I skipped a few days of the shake and was really hungry. My husband never does the shake but he always complains of hunger and now I know why. I do a beef (hydro beef) shake not sure if that makes a difference compared to whey shakes.
Try preloading with soup or salad or lots of veggies. Then you’ll feel super full before eating dinner. I always have dessert and most nights have a flavorful tea which also adds to making me feel full.

I’ve heard Gin Stephens mention ‘the sigh’
@@lauras4472 that must be where I learned about it.
Thank you for the tips your amazing ❤
I'm not gaining but also not losing. I do OMAD 5x a week and do yoga. I'm OK with it for now.
Thank you Kayla.
All good tips!
For me, if I’m gaining weight still, it’s because I’m eating too much.

I’ve tracked my calories and all it does is stress me more…. Doesn’t work
Does anyone know when Kayla opens up enrollment for her IF for weight loss on her website?

We have a tendency to eat more at night. So if you eat a meal a day choose lunch.
Maybe you’d be better inclined to do Alternate Day Fasting
Hello Kayla, another comment is lost. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
