@Farsflisespikkeri. our keyless chuck (aka Jacobs) was redesigned about a year or so ago. It now has a ratcheting mechanism that will help overcome the issues you were having before. The new chuck is standard with all of our drills now. Thanks!

I love Festool it is the best.
That said i hope they have done something with their standard chuck. You called it a Jacobs chuck ?
I have a machine 2 years old, and the problem is that the drills or bits holder falls out very often. Especially if you have like philip screws and it slips a bit. The wibrasjons makes it come loose.
I cant count how many times I have been on to a roof and the bits holder falls off, making me go down to get a new one or find the one who fell off
    Best regards.

The price is high but you have to remember that they are made in Germany and I'm sure the workers get paid a decent wage. Festool seem to use great materials plus stand behind their tools. I still have my c12 which is over 3 years old and the original batteries are still holding a charge fine.

The jocobs chuck in the new T-18 is different then the one from my c-12 drill, it's a much better design. Check out my T-18 open box video where I go over the chuck more, there are links at the end of each T-18 video.

    Hi Dave,
Thank you for interesting rewie. I have bought T18+3 a few days a go and one problem apears to me. FastFix keyless chuck KC 13-1/2-K-FFP vibrates a lot while spinning and vibration shakes all drill and a hand too. It's very unpleasant feeling. What is more interesting, that the drill bit rotates straight while performing, but keyless chuck chakes it self as there a no weight center... Did you have heard anything from anyone having such a problem. Mine T18+3 Compact (574908) is a brand new purchased from official FESTOOL dealer in Lithuania. Thank you for answering.

I've seen alot of festool drill driver compared to DeWalt which is a no brainer. Festool is clearly so far superior is form and function. I've got brand new DeWalt 18V Drill/Driver/Hammerdrill(which hammerdrill is nice when in pinch) that's got more runout than Bill Clinton. On the "this one is so much more expensive than this one" aspect I think a festool versus Panasonic Drill/Driver. Panasonic might come close on the "value" spectrum"

Eccentric is pronounced either "ek-sentrik" or "ex-sentrik" but never "essentrik"
