What I appreciate the most about how festool evolves. The systainers all connect together wether it's version 1 to 2 and now 3. The battery style hasn't changed it just gets smarter.
Other brands have changed over the years and it's disposable.
I'm hooked.
Great points
I like your honest reviews. You touch on points I actually value. Thanks man!
Finally a new Review, really love your channel. You should have a lot more subscribers.Keep it up. 👍👍
Much appreciated!
New subscriber and I love ur channel! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!
Great review. Really appreciate the way you approach reviews. I have some festool stuff and rarely see reviewers take as much stock in ergonomics. It's more important than some people think.
Thanks Nathan. I definitely agree, I've always found ergonomics to be the most important factor in being able to use a tool safely at a very high level.
Festool tools are expensive but they are well made and the ergonomics is what make people buy them. Thanks for the videos.
They are also mostly made in Germany heh
love your channel, no nonsense just content.
Festool are on another level when it comes to the balance and feel of their tools. Very few brands can compete in those areas.
For me, the clutch is really important feature for what I use a drill for. The Festool sounds quieter too. Looks like a winner.
Daniel
It's very quiet
This is the most helpful video I’ve seen on the festool drills!
Thanks Anthony
Finally a nice review. Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
LOVE, LOVE the case! I think every tool should come with a case to protect your tools. The cases alone would make me change to this brand! Thank you for your opinions on what you like and don’t like. It’s refreshing to get honest reviews.
Love your channel! Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching!
Lately I've been getting more and more interested in festool.
Me too, great quality tools for sure.
Thanks for the Festool review it is good to learn more about them I am a plumber and have been using Milwaukee tools for years or I should say decades. Battery tools have changed the where I buy tools dramatically when the battery tools first came up they are really handy but not all that great and I have used several different brands over the years.
Thank You and Festool Canada. This drill would be nice for DIYer like me.. ❤️
Thank you for finally explaining what that bearing at the end of the drill is for (to hold on to for precision)
Yes, a new video upload!!! 👌👍
Looks like a really great tool, those cases look tidy too. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I have never tried Festool power tools, but Thanks to your videos I would like to try them out.
Awesome videos! Just found your channel and really enjoy your content!
Thanks a lot, I appreciate the support!
I've been wanting this drill for a while. Thank you for the in depth review.

I really like the festool they are so simple yet perfect and well thought out
Well put
At some point in my life I used Festool instruments.. amazing results and a joy to use. When my life took a turn I put my collection on sale for 25% off the original price - there was a line of people eager to buy.
I hope your life is back on track now my man.
Best video to date!!! Great info👏
Glad you think so!
My new favorite channel
Just picked it up this week, the slim line batteries are what sold me,more power less bulky.👍🇨🇦📐
I enjoy watching your videos and reviews. I've been very interested in festool, I hear good things about them
Thanks a lot!
really like your videos, informative and engaging.
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the great reviews! Hello from California!
Thanks mate, hello from up the coast.
Nice review. Thanks
Love it! keep up the videos, big fan
Appreciate it big time!
Been wanting to get a festool for a long time great review
I am so glad you explained Festool down to a perfect explanation. I have always told people Festool is more precision than other brands. Milwaukee, Makita etc as you said are more of a powerful wild beast. Subscribed and thank you for great video.
Makita tools are insanely reliable. They never break essentially it's unbelievable
@@basketball798 They had a hammer drill issue but re launched it. Some people are still stuck with the earlier model that over heats.
Nice Drill 😁👍🏻
Definitely worth the money!
Nice Video 👍🏻
Thanks. I'll be sad to give it away!
Great review. Thanks!
Thanks Kathryn
Love the channel! Awesome review!! I'm a die hard Milwaukee guy but some of these new 18 volt festools are sweet. I've got a festools ct26 and corded track saw. Kinda wish I would have gotten the cordless track saw. Keep up the good work!
I regret getting a corded track saw as well!
Great video Funny Man!! I've been wanting to try a Festool for years. Never even seen a Festool in person.
Thanks Mark!
Great video!! Saw your channel from a comment posted on the Think Media channel. keep up the good work!!!
Thanks Ash! Best wishes with your channel, keep having fun:)
@@TheFunnyCarpenter Thanks , you as well!
great videos!! keep em comin
Thanks a lot Peter!
Nice review, thanks. I'm all in on M18 but very jealous of that clutch.
Learning a lot of skills from your channel! You’re like a older brother who’s teaching me life tricks. As for me, I’m a newly wed; without any tools yet... we’re just starting out, our adult lives. I’m hoping to find some favor in your decision making when picking a winner of the drill. Keep up the videos because I’m ready to learn more. Be blessed!
Thanks a lot for checking out the channel, I’m happy you’re finding it helpful!
Great review.
I like some honesty 👍 keep up the fine videos
Thanks Lars
Thanks for the review. I'm ready to join the cult of Festool.
Lol be careful Jay it’s an expensive one! But if u use the tools a lot and you end up liking them over cheaper ones it can be worth it🙃
@@TheFunnyCarpenter I've recently decided to move from Ridgid to a blend of Milwaukee and Festool. Ordering the TSC55 next week. I wish Milwaukee made a track saw. It would be badass, I'm sure.
Enjoyed your review. I also value ergonomics, would love to get this in my hands.
It's definitely a drill to check out at the tool store if you have one around. Thanks for checking out the channel!
i screw up a lot of projects with or without a drill - great video!
entertaining and informative review, like the chanel a lot, subscriber from Norway here!
Thanks a lot Per I appreciate it! Cheers from Canada
Great review. Been eyeballing Festool gear
I really like my t18 with the changeable chucks. It does everything I could ever want from a drill and much more. I have found powerhouse drills like the Milwaukee’s very uncomfortable too use exactly because they’re so powerful.
Another nice thing with the t18-3 is you can use the CXS Jacob chuck on it
Great video love the drill
Looks like a great drill to add to the quiver
Just found your channel, this is amazing!
Hey, I got a need for another drill. This one looks great! I am an engineer from New Zealand.
I haven't pulled the trigger on any Festool stuff yet, but I'd love to try it someday.
Looks like a great drill, Festool truly think about the user experience!
Very informative
Omg would love love love this drill
I've got the Milwaukee Fuel combi drill and I love it so much I just bought another as I got fed up changing bits during projects. I am impressed with how smooth the Festool seems and for the stuff I make it's probably a better option but I'm already in the Milwaukee M18 system and DeWalt 18v XR system and can't justify another. That said, I'm probably going to buy the Festool TSC55 this year as it doesn't look like Milwaukee are going to make a competitor any time soon and the DeWalt is basically a separate platform and I might as well buy the best. Oh the stress! Can't believe how cheap tool are over the pond - you guys would go grey if you knew how much things cost here!
Great vid as always! 😊
Thanks for the awesome comment Persephone. We have it pretty good over here in Canada with the American Market right next door.
I do a fair amount of finer woodworking and have been wondering if the Festool drill and impact would be worth the price upgrade. Great info! You have given me a ton of food for thought. Thanks so much.
I can't believe it, this guy is really smart, I thought I was the last one remaining🤪 Lol
Awesome review, I’ve been strictly dewalt but getting into a few metabo HPT tools. Always love looking at Festool when I go to Lee valley but thought could never justify the price. Really need a new high quality vacuum/dust extractor and really want bite the bullet on one of the Festool ones cause they seem to be top of the line. Love to see you do a review on one of them.
Thanks for this review.
Give us a closer look at your truck bed/systainer workbench set up. That looked very clever
Nice review.
I've been eyeballing this drill, big time. That loose ring on the nose of the chuck would drive me batshit crazy every time it rattles. Glad you pointed that out!!
Meatball Salad I’m thinking you could put some silicone on there and stop it from rattling. That’s what I would have done if I kept the drill.
@@TheFunnyCarpenter i was thinking about that as well. I would think it's only use is what you mentioned 🤷♂️ I've never seen one like that and could live without that "feature" lol
Looks like a good drill, I might be interested in this
Hi,
I always thought people who bought Festool drills must be crazy; so much money for a tool which only makes things spin. But now that I own a T18 I know that it is an absolutely fabulous bit of kit, worth every penny to me.
One thing I would like to add about the clutch and the switch; The clutch not only controls the max torque, but it also controls the speed. So you will notice that at a low torque setting, the max RPM is reduced as well, which make it really suitable for delicate work. I do believe this is what actually makes the clutch so good and I am not aware of any other drill which has this feature. The switch you were referring to is the clutch engagement (again being able to turn the clutch on at the last used setting is a big bonus to actually use the clutch in real life) and not the speed control. I just tried myself, and absolutely nothing happens when you move the switch whilst drilling. Only after you released the the trigger, the clutch is engaged.
I own a Metabo Quick drill as well and being able to remove the chuck is a must have for me. However, I bought my father in law a Metabo quick drill as well, which even came with the special bit adapter, but he simply keeps swapping drill bits and bit holders in the same chuck all the time. So if it is not in your way of working, a removable chuck is of no value. And this drill would be a perfect complement as a second drill (I mean, a drill, systainer, two batteries and charger is really good value); one for drilling and one for screwing. If only it was available on our side of of the pond...
Good luck with your choice. I'm sure will not regret owning this drill. If you are also in the market for the PSC, be aware that you can buy a combo kit with this drill and the jigsaw.
Thanks for the great comment! Yes the clutch engagement switch I found sometimes gets switched before drilling by putting my hand on the top of the drill.
love the festool cases
That clutch though 😍
Thanks for the giveaway!
I do have a milwaukee drill but have been looking at this one to get back into festool. I plan on getting a domino again eventually.
Nice review. I think the price comparison with the Milwaukie makes a strong argument to go with the Festool. Thanks for posting man.
Festool products are expensive, but they are a pleasure to use.
100% agree, the price is a bitter pill! Often times too bitter
Great video, awesome drill too!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video. thanks
I’ve been leaning up upgrading from my Ryobi. Need a better clutch. And that may have sold me. Thanks
I don't have any festool tools. but I am green with envy.
I love their color combo
What i realy like about the Festool brushless tools is that they are very quiet, my employer provides us with m12 and m18 fuel drills but they noise they make makes u want to use hearing protection for only putting in screws....
And the smoothness of the Festool makes it realy easy to put in screws onehanded without slipping and jabing the bit into your workpiece.
Using the drill reminds me a lot of driving a sporty well made car. The next thing you know you're going 150 down the freeway and it feels like 80.
Great video again man! I definitely agree that the multiple heads/chucks for the cxs /t18 make the t18e a somewhat 'lesser' choice. It's like buyers remorse... Slightly lol. I love me my cxs too now.
I'm glad you're liking the CXS. Thanks Daniel.
This drill looks so nice
Great video! I'd love to get my hand on this drill!
I really like the C-18 (cxs's big brother). The nicest drill/install driver I have used.
I just picked up the T18e as well to complement the C-18. Both are super smooth and controlled. Perfect for cabinet makers.
Good review. Now to see how the durability is....
How do you like handling the T18E vs the C18?
@@TheFunnyCarpenter I really like the ergonomics of both TBH; the C-18 feels really great in the hand for screwdriving, and odd angles, etc. Like the T18E you reviewed, the balance is really good too. I mainly picked up the T18E for larger jobs where there is a lot of drilling and fastening to do, so have dedicated tools for each task. The T18 is really smooth to operate with drilling, etc. (And I am already on the battery platform (TSC55, Osc18). )
The C18 of the two is my main go to though. It is just a little bit more comfortable and nimble. I can hang it off my tool belt and forget that it's there
Loving the videos. Keep up the great work. Please add my ticket in the hat!
Another great vid, man! I’m moving to NZ, soon- any advice on switching to 240 v tools?
Thanks for posting this review. I've been looking to replace my rather old Hitachi 12V drill and driver combo with something a little more modern but always thought that the Festool product line was too far out of my reach. Time to start including their products in my search. Cheers from The Wack!
Cheers 🍻 indeed, thanks for supporting the channel
Hey man another great review really enjoy your content. I like the point you brought up about the screw/drill selector and how it’s essentially an entry level model of the one with more chucks I’d definitely be buying the option with more chucks.
100% agree about the makita jigsaw I have the barrel grip and it’s horrendous blade wonders severely to the left almost impossible to cut a straight line also doesn’t hold the blade anywhere near 90 degrees. I own the Mafell P1 it’s amazing it’s like nothing else on the market Festool Carvex is good corded or cordless I’ve used both but the Mafell is still so much better. I will say it’s a heavy tool and the grip is for medium to large hands. Not an issue for me it’s so smooth I’ve never noticed the weight when cutting from the back of the panel. Plunge cuts like a dream dust extraction is second to none.
Anyway enough of me drooling about Mafell thanks for the great content
Great comment- thank you. I’d definitely like to check out the P1
Cool vid, like always. I'd like to see some Hilti drills in future reviews. :)
I would definitely like to test out some Hilti drills, I should shoot them a message and see if they are interested in providing and drills to test.
I love my Hilti drills, as well.
I would start my own carpentry business with a drill like that!
Nice video!
I only have one Festool item (J-clamp) for a MFT. I dream of getting a Festool Domino for joinery. I love your honest reviews and enjoy your sense of humor.
That domino seems amazing- I always dream of getting one and then building lots of cool stuff.... but in reality I probably wouldn’t use it enough to justify the price!
Might as well buy the T18+3 with removable chucks .Only dislike ive had with mine is that I occasionally knock it into reverse .
Or purchase the C18 which has arguably better ergonomics.
I have been eyeballing that drill
Great Review On a tool I would love to have.
