The end result is to this day a multi billion dollar fiasco. The hulls split, a gear box driving the propeller shaft breaks and strands the vessel’s. The Navy voided a Hugh production contract and don’t know what to do with the ships. That’s the way this stuff works. The incredible naval engineers of Great Britain will get it sorted out.
