  • These last two weeks I had taken a breather with cosmetic repairs as I am preparing to move onto the chassis and electrical components. Thought I'd make a video around the big ticket items that still need to be completed along with outlining a vision of the future. Enjoy!

    As far as the rear cargo area, do what I did. I laid down hand scraped hardwood flooring on my 2016. It gives it a Holland and Holland look...super rich. Plus it cheap and only took an afternoon. You do have to lay down plywood first and I glued the hardwood down to that.

      Not a bad idea! I've thought once spring rolls back around that I'd like to insulate the bed and put down a subfloor of sorts. Was just thinking some nice plywood to serve as a mounting base for anything else I wanted to install. But I love the thought of something like teak or marine decking!

      @@WorkingAxle The teak cargo area is nice. LR offers it as an option for like $4k. It all depends on how crafty you are but a teak cargo area wouldnt be rocket science. Cheers.

      Hey Bryan! Thanks for the love man. And yeah I recently just removed the whole ac matrix a couple days ago. Hah, she's still in pieces now, but once I get back to assembly I'll likely have you on speed dial haha

    Great videos! Thanks for the inspiration. I know that docket list too well! I try and accomplish 1 or 2 items every month in efforts to keep a decent running 4.2 88 SWB.

    That 4.2 sounds nice.
    Is Chicago a ghost town now during Covid?

      I'd say around the start of April it was pretty ghosty. But now it's almost business as usual unfortunately. People are moving more and more.

    Hey the 3.9/4.2 doesn't have a timing belt. It's a chain. Not hard to do

    • @WorkingAxle
      @WorkingAxle  2 года назад

      Ahh yeah yeah! After I posted this i realized my error! Hah! But my chain is probably due for a refresh!

    Hey Sean, if that clunking and shifting is real jarring, check out your rear A-arm ball joint. It may be your issue. Do you have access to a press....it's probably gonna be a bugger to remove!

    • @WorkingAxle
      @WorkingAxle  4 года назад +1

      I ended up finding the root of the problem. Like you, I initially thought it was the A-arm ball joint, but turns out my rear shocks lost their bushings. Recently installed new ones. Should be coming out with a new video talking about that here in a couple days!
